  1. What? Hovercrafts have been crossing the English Channel for decades - car carrying ones, at that. This won't happen, but it's not because he wants to use hovercrafts to ferry passengers...
  2. 0 for 3. Asked the operator, apparently all the cars are crackly besides just the one operating with. Bit disappointing effort on MW's behalf not to fix this, imo. Was here in Jan, no audio, back now in June, still no audio =(. Is a part of the ride I would like to experience one day..
  3. I have to confess, I gave one of my three to Buzzsaw. OK it's not much of a coaster - but as a thrill ride I'd insist on taking all my friends on it just to see their reactions...
  4. Offtopic, but thanks for that. I'm surprised they mentioned any names at all.. I'd expect them to be lips sealed. It is a great park, and they have been spending fairly big on it lately - something new, or a full park repaint seemingly every season going back what, a decade now? But yes, it needs a drawcard for the adults. TBH, something I'd love to see in the park (along with a coaster), and maybe even sooner, would be a 2 Aqua Loop racer. Well within the parks budget (Kahuna falls was $3mil odd), and gives it a real modern thrill waterslide... in Perth with 40C+ summers (well over 40C today..) a thrill slide's draw should not to be underestimated... but yea. If they want to be on the map, they need a coaster.
  5. Perhaps we've all just been hardened from growing up with Perth's Adventure World's notoriously rough Turbo Mountain... As AlexB said, there's definitely some vibration I'm not disputing that, it's not smooth, but imo it's just not jarring or "rough".. with the exception of the wild mouse corners into the station.
  6. I suppose not... it's just, the ride in general just seemed old/unloved when we were there. Looking at the photos the track does seem to be an intended shade of grey... thinking about it now, I think it's just a poor or dated choice of colour.
  7. Great ride.. incredibly annoying queue theming. If it were just the soundtrack it'd be fine, maybe with a vocal every 10 minutes. Having the same line play near continuously when you're waiting 30 minutes for a ride is not at all fun.. About the theming, despite it being annoying I was pretty disappointed it had already been vandalised.. with the tooth of Parallax having been ripped off. This is why we can't have nice things =(. Anyway, as a member of the "general public", I rate it (in the front right seat of course) immediately below superman, and above any other coaster on the GC. For my visit the light on a few cars only partially lit up, and there was no sound in the seat. TBH I found this a little disappointing for a couple of months in, and hope they get on top of these technical issues... a bit concerned that a few years down the line nothing will be working. Still, a great coaster. Looks nicely intimidating in it's front most position with the green lantern logo lit up =).
  8. I don't understand all the hating on the seats? 10 years ago when we last went on it (from Perth), ages 8 - 15, my siblings and I went on it many times and it was definitely our favourite MW wild. After browsing this forum I was quite concerned it had deteriorated in comfort somehow, and we were all somewhat hesitant... particularly with how rundown the ride looked. But tbh, it turned out to be an absolute highlight of the trip (including one group member who had never been on it before). Didn't seem rough at all, with the possible exception of the two slow corners into the station (they need to be lower speed or banked, you're really not ready for the jerk). FWIW, we were at the back, varied in sizes quite a bit but all pretty fit - and we followed the instructions, heads firmly back. Anyway. Great ride, desperately needs a fresh coat of paint, a second train (the queue was long), and some general TLC. The ride should definitely not be closed, that would actually make me quite sad.. there's multiple coasters I'd sooner regrettably let go then this one...
  9. EDIT: Oops, meant to post in the "close lethal weapon thread". Anyway, excited for the retheme... I wonder what MW will come up with. My money's on dark night... to coincide with The Dark Knight Rises. Second to that, Rush Hour (minimal retheming required) or even kept as Lethal Weapon with most the budget going towards a desperately needed fresh coat of paint and cars (can't be cheap..). EDIT 2: Wait! Could it be Men in black? MIB3's coming out 2012...
