  1. It is said on the Dreamworld home page about this new show, but there is no information about it. Has anyone watched it yet?
  2. I don't know if people have seen it on tv or if it is the final product, but i have seen an advert for the campaign.
  3. This is all I could find. Source The Theme Park Social Network:
  4. I don't think that the track is bad, but the theming is. The only issue with ride is how uncomfortable it is. At some parts it throws you about a lot and there isn't much leg room for people over 6 foot. I think they just need to give it a new car, name, theme and repaint. That would make it much better. It has been open for over 10 years and I don't think they have done anything to it (maybe painted it once).
  5. I think that what Dreamworld do during the Tiger Show is good, as it shows some of their natural behaviour. I have only watched it a couple times in this 10 years, but I do think that it would be time to create a new show.
  6. I would say that it will either be open a week before Queensland school holidays start (Which I think is the 13th December for most schools, I could be wrong though), or Boxing Day. I would say that it all depends on the speed of construction. I am sure Sea World won't say when it will open as they are probably not entirely sure.
  7. If anyone goes to Sea World could they please take a photo when they are on the SkyHigh SkyWay, so that we can see how the shipping containers look on the site overall.
  8. Here are just a few picks that The Theme Park Social Network facebook page uploaded:
  9. Dreamworld won't ever replace the cyclone, but they need to do what sea world did to the corkscrew. A new car and a retheme.
  10. I would have to agree on all of your comments made here. I do think Movie World is a well detailed theme park with high quality rides. They just need one more big show (Maybe where the old Looney Tunes Show was). I have being saying for a few years now that Dreamworld needs to improve the wildlife area. Maybe the funding from the government and the aboriginal theme will allow this to happen. I do think that some of the older rides at Dreamworld need to be replaced (Such as Reef Diver, cyclone, mine ride and the old chair life). Sea World would be one of the closet parks to being world class on the coast. I think the storm coaster will make the park even better. They have got all of the essential sea creatures (Besides whales, but I think thats cruel anyway. I suppose they do offer the whale watching, which is better anyway). Probably the only ride with the lowest quality is the log ride, but they can't really change that due to the storm coaster.
  11. Sorry, I wasn't actually responding to you. I just wrote that as a general statement about it and what I though. Has it been said when the advert will be released?
  12. You have got to look at it from a marketing perspective by the government. They are not going to make an advert saying the theme parks are good, but not great. For Australian theme parks the Gold Coasts has some of the best. The Gold Coast is the theme park capital of Australia. If the advert did not say they were world class then not as many people would want to visit them. I haven't been to many theme parks in the world, besides the ones on the Gold Coast and for Australia they are pretty good. You've got to remember about the exchange rate and the countries growth. America and Europe can afford to pay for world class theme parks, we can't. I think it is good they are finally creating an advert displaying what the Gold Coast has to offer.
  13. Is the maze as good as the ones at this years Fright Night? If so, which one can it be compared to (scare and detail wise)?
  14. Personally I would do the Hillbilly Slasher Maze first, unless you want to be queued for 80 or more minutes. Once you have done that maze go and do Walking Dead or Evil Dead and then the Darkness. It also depends if you want to go on rides and if you want to watch the show. If I went again I would do everything in this order: 1. Hillbilly Slasher 2 Maze 2. A ride (What ever you feel like going on) 3. By the time you have done these you probably could go and watch the Carn-Evil show at 7pm. If you do miss it then there is the 9pm show. 4. Maybe another ride (Depending on queue lengths) 5. Walking Dead or Evil Dead 6. Walking Dead or Evil Dead 7. If you missed the first show then you will probably have time to watch after the mazes. 8. The Darkness Maze 9. You probably will have time for eat or drink at the end or after the show if you want something. Overall it depends on what rides and mazes you want to do, if you want to watch the show and if you are going to have something to eat.
  15. I also went to Fright Night last night. This year was my first time that I had ever been so I did not really know what to expect, but my expectations were met. I got there at around 5pm and I got in straight away. Then we had to wait until about 5:45pm before they allowed people to move up the sides of main street. At 6pm these devil ladies came out and did a dance. Then the ring master came about and spoke out Fright Night. After he spoke all of the actors came out from behind Ben and Jerry's. They made there way down main street and waited at the end. Throughout the whole night these actors stayed out in main street and sometimes around the mazes. All of the makeup and costumes were done really well. I was in main street for about 20 minutes watching people get scared, while I waited for some friends to arrive. I first went on Green Lantern because I hadn't been on it for a while. I was in the queue for about 30 minutes, which I didn't think so too bad. After that I went to the Hillbilly Slasher 2 maze. I was in the queue for about 75 minutes (It went all the way down to the scooby-doo shop). Overall the maze was pretty good (I would rate it a 7/10). The layout, mixture of the different scenes and all of the actors were really good. After the maze I went and watched the Carn-evil show. The show was good, but I didn't think it was anything special. The show started with a couple of clowns coming out and telling a few jokes. Then ladies came out and danced a bit and then the ring master came out. After speaking a bit he went behind a small tent and went up a scissor lift to the top of the tent, where he stayed the rest of the show. More actors came out and did a few circus tricks. Then the motorbikes came out. They did a few tricks and then the show ended. The show went for about 15 minutes. I would give it a 7/10. After the show I got something to eat and then decided to go and do the Evil Dead Maze. The line was only about 30 minutes long and it was worth the wait. It was really well set out and out of the two I did it was the scariest. Every scene/passage way had an actor that would be there ready to scare you. It was really well set out and the detail was really good. I would give it a 9/10. By the time I had done this maze it was time to go. Overall this years Fright Night was really good, even though I haven't been to one before, but after speaking to my friends they thought it was the best. Everything was really well detailed. I thought the placement of the mazes was really good, except for the Darkness maze. The positioning of the queue line sometimes restricted people from getting something from the gotham food shop. The use of the smoke was really good, but sometimes there was too much. I also believe they should of had a map for where the mazes are at the end of main street (There might have been one, but I couldn't find it). I personally think that the rides should be left open until 10pm instead of 9pm. I was also disappointed that the justice league alien invasion ride wasn't open. I would highly recommend going to Fright Night this year. Overall I would give it an 8/10.
  16. I'm going on Saturday so I'll also provide a detailed review. I just asked those questions because I was curious.
  17. Where have all of the mazes been placed this year? Also I spoke to a friend who has been and they said that the Darkness maze is completely black and nothing jumps out, is this true?
  18. If anyone goes to Fright Night tomorrow night can they post their thoughts on it and whether it is worth going to this year.
  19. Thanks for that. It was very good
  20. Honestly I would love to see another River Ride based on the looney tunes. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the previous one. They could just get rid of the first part of the ride and change the track and overall story line of the ride. I am sure that Movie World would not do this though. If they are still going to build a kids driving ride then it should be based around a looney tunes village. Each road should feature a different looney tune. Maybe the ride could be like the train ride all ready at Movie World, but the train takes you on a journey through a looney tunes village. There could be animatronics and water effects. That is just my opinion on it.
