All that is needed is a sign explaining "undergoing reno but open to ride", as was mentioned previously.
The general public would be more upset if it was closed at this time of year than running in its current state,if that sign was in place.
-
Having just been given 12 month passes, I'm disappointed my son who is finally ready for the ride will miss out on the old theme, but like me at least he'll get to enjoy the mechanical side of the rides.
-
As a motor bike rider myself, it looses too much pace. Jet rescue in having the second launch solves the problem. MDMC with some power input later into the ride would be much better.

wow they are really taking baby steps huh
Yep, the bigger rides will be perceived to be more dangerous, so the general public will expect them to take longer to check.
If you open the "dangerous" rides first, it makes the image management more difficult.

The emphasis on smashing looked like a hint.

Entry near green lantern, agreed.
Entry near Arkham (not likely), maybe.

Tell you what, full credit to the guys doing that fence/the pillars. The are SMASHING them out.
Can someone who knows DC better than me can explain that hint?
-
If it's less than 300mm deep, no fence is required.

It will be mothballed until rocky hollow reopens, otherwise it runs through a lot of nothing from the animals back to main street.

Of course.
But I believe the whole reopening has been planned out carefully.
The big rides draw the crowds, but could be seen as poor taste in being available first day. Have the family rides open looks better, even if some where more complex to inspect than say TOT2.
-
Thinking like the media or general public, it's a separate park and different rides.
Plus the distance helps with the apparent separation.
Don't forget the image management people will be calling the shots, it's all about a positive reopening for the park. I'd suspect even the staff evening falls into that. 7 news hardly focussed on the incident tonight, it was more about the good things the park is doing.

Not been there, are there any flume rides?

Image. A similar water ride on reopening day probably not seen to be in good taste.
-
Lots of loud noisy rides and screaming people probably doesn't fit with the concept of the weekend.
-
Each step would be possible to do, having all steps happen in series would be where the difficulty lies and is how I interpreted the article @Brad2912 has linked to.

How are those markets anyway? Noticed them from the cruise terminal a few weeks back and thought it looked pretty small and crappy for all the good reviews it gets
We enjoy them, but a few tips, be early to secure a park close by, if weather is dicey or you want to sit, get a table early and have one person always sit at it.
We spent about three hours there (and $200) between four of us a few weeks ago.
-
Sounds like Eat Street Markets in essence, plus some small rides.

Depends on what level the loss of staff came to. New training schedules and then the training itself may be need to occur.

So the Dreamworld reopening web page mentions no Thrill Rides, nor Log or Vintage Cars are to reopen at this stage. No mention of the train and the Baldwin though, do we think it will return? I hope this incident wasn't a nail in the coffin of them running the steam locomotive. Time will tell I guess...
Unless there is a specific issue with the Baldwin, I'd expect to see it running again, otherwise every other heritage steam locomotive in Queensland would be stopped too. ARHS and QR are running their trips this weekend, QPSR next weekend so I don't think that will happen.
You would expect all operations involving the public and any risks (even well mitigated risks) will come under closer scrutiny over the coming year or so.

It's like suicide barriers on a bridge. Not enough to stop you if you're really going to do it, but enough to make you stop and think about it a bit longer.
Essentially what I was going for.

@Jamberoo Fan not quite that simple, as the light rail interacts with traffic lights etc, that has to be factored into the headway. Plus ease of use for passengers to not get the wrong service.
I'm struggling to see why a dedicated bus or three can't handle this job as a shuttle?
Rail is intended to do the "heavy lifting" with buses etc feeding to and from interchanges. The time lost to transferring to a bus should be less than waiting for the one every 25 minute light rail service.
And yes, that's a train nut telling you to catch a bus
