The The Australian Financial Review stated two weeks ago that Dreamworld will likely open in August before the September holidays start.
The Australian Financial Review are completely irrelevant and wouldn’t have a clue when Dreamworld plans to reopen. August is a guess at best.

Eagle-eyed viewers will also notice there is only one storage bay in the render of the coaster. Obviously it's just tentative, but could also indicate there will only be 2 trains.

I know we obviously weren't expecting the level of theming as seen in the original artworks for the area, but I can't be the only one who thinks this all looks pretty cheap and tacky so far? I understand it's only the Vortex area, but I mean, that could not be any further from the concept art.

This was the proposed 'stage one' of the park, released back in 2017 I believe?

Does anyone know how many trains Dreamworld is ordering for this coaster?
I mean, you'd have to imagine there's going to be at least 3? No point for a MCBR if there isn't at least 3.

I really wanted to just say 'who the hell cares' - but then I noticed the opening hours...
8am to 8pm on weekends? ABSOLUTE GOLD.... (please let it be true)
Tricked me too until I saw that it was a screenshot from the website back in 2015.

In addition to this post, how long do people think these rides have left?
Wild West Falls Adventure (21yrs old)
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster (17yrs old)
Puss in Boots Sword Swing (37yrs old)
Shrek's Ogre-Go-Round (36yrs old)
Batwing Spaceshot (13yrs old)
Some older kids rides in both MW and DW
And how long will Dreamworld keep the kids maze and Kickback Cove 😕
I believe I heard somewhere that the Kids Maze was being scrapped in the expansion of ABC World? Not sure about that though. Kickback Cove won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
And wow, I never knew Sword swing and the Ogre-go-round were so old! They have been kept in great condition.
I'd say the spooky coaster has a lot of life left in it still, however I'm not sure the same could be said about Wild West Falls (at least in its current state).
Batwing will be around for a while aswell.

Moreso illegal than dangerous as aircraft and foot traffic are at a minimum during these times.
Still definitely shouldn't have been done though. That is true. What shocked me is that the creator actually knows it's illegal. In his comments he mentions that he hides in his car so he doesn't get seen when he films this stuff.

Looks like someone just ignored the laws anyways
That is incredibly dangerous.
FYI - the footage above is not mine.

'Sidewinder' is also a species of rattlesnake.
I doubt the final name will be Sidewinder somehow. Their contract may have only just run out with Hotwheels, given the removal of the name.

I think you answered your own question - you can't fly over people. Going to re-quote myself for prosperity.
I never actually had any intention in flying over the parks themselves. I was specifically asking if it was allowed around the boundary. By the looks of things, it seems to be legal.
-
Wow. That’s very surprising. I never would have thought it was legal to fly over a theme park, especially since you aren’t allowed to fly over vehicles, houses or people.
-
Hi, i'm interested to know what are the particular regulations at the parks in regards to the usage of drones? I did some research in regards to the Queensland governments guidelines, however I'm not sure whether each park has their own set of rules. I understand flying within the park is prohibited, however is filming allowed around the boundaries prohibited also? (For example, adjacent to Entertainment Drive, on the grass patch in front of DC Rivals, or behind Dreamworld's bushland near the train line).

I would say that is the case, it was a stupid decision to begin with considering Debit Success had no issues pausing my Dreamworld membership when they were closed.
In other news...
In addition to hosting a wedding, Australia Zoo remains open for business in these "avoid non essential travel" times. 🤔
https://www.australiazoo.com.au/visit-us/zoo-update/What are you talking about? They have closed.

New Zealand is going to be in lockdown from midnight today. This means everyone has to stay home and they cannot leave. Police will be patrolling. Scott should take more action like what Jacinda did to NZ but it’s probably too late.
There's at least 2 things wrong with this, but I know @AlexB will probably say something after me..
1. Australia's population is 5 times the amount of New Zealand's. Locking down 25 million people is not as easy a task as locking down 5 million - especially when a portion of Australian's wont actually listen to those lock down orders (as we are seeing at the moment)
2. Australia is literally 28.5 times larger than New Zealand (7.69 million square kilometres). A decision like this needs a lot of time and thought, which clearly you have not done, as you seem to think ScoMo has the ability to just shut down the country at the flick of a switch 😉
But what does this have to do with the gold coast parks?

As mentioned, Dreamworld is closed. Annual pass validity for all pass holders will be extended past their current expiry date by the amount of temporary closure days. Dreamworld have also taken an extra step than VRTP and have allowed an additional 1 month free of charge for any annual pass holder.

The store has actually been closed a lot longer. Since early last year it’s just been a ghost town.

Another one bites the dust: Adventure World
Given the ever-changing nature of this current health crisis and the associated Government advice, we have made the decision for now to temporarily suspend operation of the Park.
It is our intention that with time and more detail from the State & Federal Governments, Adventure World will be able to re-open before the end of this Season.
Looks like they're planning to re-open before the 27th of April. Time will tell, though.

Email from Dreamworld:
As a valued passholder, we are committed to providing you with important updates about your in-park experience as promptly as possible. Given this, please be aware that the performances by magician, Cosentino that were scheduled for 4 - 19 April have now been cancelled. As this event was intended as a large, indoor style gathering where a high number of guests would be seated in close proximity for extended times, we felt it was important to cancel this, given the current environment.
The team at Dreamworld would like to assure you that the health and safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority. We would like to reiterate that both Dreamworld and WhiteWater World will remain open at present, as they are currently not included in the proposed government bans on mass gatherings.- 2

One of these things is not like the other...
@Gold Coast Amusement Force Had a point, they do sell out. But because of the recent coronial findings, and the coronavirus, there was just no chance it would've been a success. The timing for this event was just a poor decision overall imo..

Hey all,
Was hoping someone would be able to help me.. I'm currently planning a trip to North America, specifically California, Florida and Possibly New York.
What are the 'must do' parks in these states, and are there any other places I should consider? I want to get the best experience possible

Why would you assume that?
I think he means the colour of the trains?
I personally wouldn't mind the trains keeping their current colour, but a repaint of them too would certainly be refreshing.

Wasn’t there just announcements that both VRTP and Dreamworld had submitted their covid-safe plan to open sooner with a larger capacity?
