Yeah I mean it’s not like half the country was caught off guard by the insane demand of tourist pressure this weekend or anything. Honestly 🤦♂️ Yea it sucks for those that went that it was busy. But news flash, the last TWO YEARS have sucked.

Haven’t found a horse that fits in the lift yet but still a good angle to view below all the same. -
Well not from me, so maybe its just the opinion of a different demographic. Honestly I think some people just live in gumdrop rainbow fantasy land in terms of where they set their expectations of what should happen. How on earth can anyone think going on holidays and visiting tourist traps was a good thing to do this past Easter Weekend?

Until you find a realistic solution yeah. Most of those are ‘pull magic staff that don’t exist out of their ass’ solutions. The other is to close the gate which as I said would great just as much negative backlash as not. So there no win. Situation is shit, welcome to 2022, remember that covid thing or did we all forget it already? Actually I’d say you were fair if you said they dropped the ball. But the overall tone of this thread exactly implied they have some sort of intentional contempt for their customers and that notion is just beyond foolish.

Yes thats right, because some people said its bad nobody will come to the Gold Coast Theme Parks again. Do you actually think that’s reality? please enlighten us as to all the ways they could have improved the guest experience? Do they take the lead from the country’s airports? Or how about Sydney ferries? Should they have closed the gates at 5000 people and said ‘sorry you paid but we’re all full’? What exactly would you like them to do?

Timezone might be a good option then -
They won’t though. People will keep going, if facebook complaining was to be believed there would never be a Gold Coast tram.

For christ sake do you take your own snacks to a restaurant? No, of course not! If people wanna take an esky for of junk to eat then go enjoy Southport parklands like every other cheapskate. -
I think the concept that any park/company hates it’s guests, generates bad publicity in purpose and doesn’t understand that a good guest experience is good for business, or does understand that and willingly chooses to do the opposite (for what 🤷♂️) is laughable. About as insane as the entitlement to suggest the park needs to apologise that every idiot thought it was wise to take a holiday the first long weekend in years there wasn’t a lockdown. These are the same sort of people who expect Qantas to apologise airports are busy and people forgot how to airplane.

Not really possibly to show bias on a hypothetical situation that's not one I can be in given I rode the thing opening year. But as I said pretty clearly IF I HAD only ridden it last year which is entirely feasible for a good number of people, or hell 5 years ago even, and I knew nothing about some long gone effect, of course I would think it was enhanced, how could I not? But I won't let a sensible argument get in the way of your compulsive need to be right about something that matters so little. Call me bias, call me whatever the on earth you like, won't change the fact I'm just happy to see something being done to make improvements to what is currently there, just as I will be happy if there are improvements to Giant Drop at dreamworld. If it said "come ride the all new Superman" then I'd be all giving a shit, but 'enhanced' I have bigger things to be outraged about in life.

Single rider isnt very effective on 2 seater rides anyway.

I mean that’s a pretty ignorant comment. Yes it sucks, but Blind Freddy can see that if it was possible to run the other train they would be. Something must be wrong with it. I don’t think any amount of reasonable planning was going to help the parks this weekend. Too much compounding crap from the last few years combining to screw them.
-
Well if I went to the park for the first time last year and then today I would feel superman was enhanced. Perhaps the marketing was targeted at that people and not those with a compulsion to be pedantic and needlessly post waffling definitions in a theme park forum 🤷♂️

I dunno, I’m all about money being spent to bring these things back to their glory. It may not be something to brag about but that is kinda marketing’s job.

Ardent sells off Main Event to focus on local theme park interests

I'd say that's growth in quality in my book -
A bit of both, and TBH you do need both.

Well I think the incentive is to create grown in the business value, and then sell it to reap the cash reward. Now growth in value, and growth in the 'quality of theme park experience' are not necessarily the same thing, so I think it very much depends on the CEO's not financial goals as to what the incentive means to them, and by extension, the future of the park. If you have a CEO in there that's all about pocketing as much cash as possible and then spring boarding onto the next well appointed corporate gig, it's going to be grow value as fast is possible. But if you have a CEO that's actually pretty happy with the position they have, want to stay in it long term for the lifestyle and personal interest aspects that come with it (ie likes theme parks, wants to live on the Gold Coast, etc) we're more likely to see long term material improvement in the offering from the Theme Park. I can't speak to, and won't speculate the personal motivations of the current CEO, but I think the above factors will very much determine how we see thee companies new found cash is spent. -
Its a federal election and this is a state based decision. And the target was always 90% so…

The ride will remain closed whilst they repair the dent in the roof

Yeah agree. Refreshing to see that garbage abandoned.

Ok that makes more sense. Obviously they are just QSC speakers, doesn’t have to be run from QSys. Even though in this case VRTP does in fact deploy QSys systems at all properties.

Entirely different management and projects departments? 🤷♂️ *please can no one write a 6 paragraph post about how some management are the same because you know that’s not my point.

I don't think anybody does care

Maybe they were hoping to reveal it as a surprise and didn’t expect some dumb subbie to go posting it for the gram
