Hey JC From that I'm guessing you must work for a Lighting company on the GC? If that's true, which one? Would love to see another lampie on the boards here

Okay so it's not very often that I come across something I think is both Original AND a cool concept for a ride. I discovered this little known Coaster on RCDB the other evening and really took a liking to it. I think this could be the next thrill ride for Dreamworld. Basically they could pretty much use this exact ride completely as is. It would make a great addition to the line up in the Gold Rush section of the park, perhaps over behind where Blue Lagoon currently is or even put the tower where the old Skyway station is now. Whilst being a good ride for the park, it wouldn't be TOO scary so would have a wider demographic and would pull away from the currently over crowded Ocean Parade section of the park. I figured this could be an equally good addition for MW or DW however Movie World really needs a non-coaster ride next and I think this would be better for the DW park. http://www.rcdb.com/id1481.htm What do you all think?

3.5 hours wait for GD, forget that, I can't think of anything more rediculous than queing for that long. Worse wait I've eer done is 3 hours and that was for the first time I wrode X. I just find that unbelievable that you would have mentioned it to a ride up weeks ago and they didn't get straight onto it and have it fixed... WHAT IS THE WORLD OF THEME PARKS COMING TO!

Well I'll just say what I thought after looking at yet another great set of pics... F*CK YEAH!

Okay forgive me but what on earth is Magic Mountain? I've never heard of it until now, anyone have details or pictures??

The trains have the new Rocket type OTSRs on them which I think Intamin are doing on all rides now regardless of if they have no inversions. Before we all go off the deep end by all acounts the OTSRs have no impact on airtime and the over the shoulder part of the restraint is more of a 'cage' than something that pushes on your shoulders.

Can I just ask where you three arrogant guys get off?? It is clear you have all approached ING and they have been nice enough to help you out. Then you come on here and get stuck into others saying not to even try to contact ING they will not help you and they are just annoyed because they have better things to do... Now why anyone would want a bloody bolt I dunno but that is your choice, I certainly have no desire to get one... That being said why shouldn't anyone who DOES want one give it a go? Why are you three so special that you deserve something more than other people? As for you ripcurl... WHAT A FRIKEN HYPOCRITE ! You thank ING for being helpful then say stuff you to people who ask you to help them out!! Don't come on here to brag about how you scored... it is clear that the three of you just want this for yourself so you can say you are the only ones with stuff. EVERYONE ELSE... IF YOU WANT TO TRY AND SCORE SOMETHING GO ON!! GET IN TOUCH WITH ING, WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOOSE? DON'T LISTEN TO THESE THREE SELFISH BASTARDS.

Woah yet another super informative, contributing post that makes the up most sense from Taronga!

That is great news to hear... Unfortunately there seems to be something up with the format of your photos, do you think you could re-post as jpegs? One thing though... why do people have to always persist with this secrecy crap? No one really cares if you have an inside scoop or anything like that. It's really much more beneficial to the community to be upfront and honest with who you are and how you happen to have photos and what your plans are and that sort of stuff for such a website... I highly doubt there is a long line of people out to beat you to it all, I am sure though that there is probably a very long line of people who would be willing to get involved and help you out in any way that they can. Whats the Zoomerang "mess" you speak of DJ?

What do YOU want in replacement of the Thunderbolt?
rappa replied to OzCoasterFreek's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey good to have you back here SK. How's things been progressing with your site? You raise some good points, interesting to hear about the plumming issues. -
I recon it might be something to Power House would take on, they had the old Luna Park face. What I would like to see is a detailed document history of the park as I am yet to see one anywhere to date. Just something my father actualy mentioned to me when I was talking to him about bush beast tonight. Does anyone still have contact with who is managing the site? I would love to see some photos of the whole wreck, be interested to see if it is kind of still just lying out over it's original foot print... He sugested if someone was to rock up to security and say that they wanted to take photos for the site they might let them in. I said I highly doubt that however I know a couple of members did have contacts there...

My thoughts exactly!

Well I just took a drive over to Wonderland to check this out for myself. Fortunately there is a nice spot of flat gravel beside the westbound turn onto the M4 where I could park my car Attached are some photos I took from the Walgrove Road perimeter fence and also from the top of the M7 overpass (I didn't stick around up there for long). It's very clear from the wreck that a dozer must have just been put through the old girl because it's just lying in one twisted heap there. I'm certain what you can see is just the big turnaround section that faced the road as it is such a long way from the station which still looks to be completely intact. Really sort of occured to me last night just how kind of sad it is to see. I mean we all knew it would happen but when you can actually look at a memory from your childhood sitting in a pile of ruins its a bit sad. It's amazing the amount of development out there now, hard to imagine you used to be able to see the Slide Tower and Beast from all the way back at the water piplines and the brick factory. It really is a bit of a joke that the council ever allowed it to happen, just shows you how different councils value recreation over direct income differently I guess I think it's a real shame that we didn't know this was coming, I for one would have been extremely interested to see the coaster come down and document it. Please if someone has or is going to have the info as to when Probe will be taken down let us all know! Overview of the main wreckage that is visible to the public. This is the main pile of wood that can be seen, one would assume there is more like it scattered over the former bush beast site. You can see the station is still standing. Closer look at the station. Just to prove this isn't just any random pile of firewood, you can see Probe in the background. Shouldn't there be a big hill here?? This is what is now left of the once big turnaround that would face the road. From the new freeway overpass you can see the remains of the Rapids holding pond and station. It's all very sad don't you think?

Okay I have an excuse for double posting so quiet you guys Just thought I'd point out that I just saw quite a lavish ad on chan 10 for the new Shrek 4D attraction. Guess that's a risky move for an attraction that some say we aren't getting LOL What I will say is if this is the ad for a minor attraction like this I CAN'T WAIT to see what they pull out for Superman.

Thanks for the update Bus. Kind of sad to hear that it's just gone, I'll have to go for a drive over there tomorrow and check it out. Would have loved to know this was coming so I could have gone and watched it come down. Guess it at least finaly gives some closure to the whole thing!

Dude ever heard of cleaning the crap out of your eyes before you read a post? If you did you would have seen that if I did DCA and Disneyland in one day I wouldn't do everything either. GEEZE

What Is Your Favourite Ride/s @ Movie World
rappa replied to lil' monster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Wild West for sure! It's just a damn solid and impressive attraction (pity about the scaff under the mountain). I have a feeling it's about to get a run for it's money though! -
Okay first of all please refrain from replying to me in that nature because I never attacked anyone and to say "looks like YOU don't get it" I think is a bit harsh and uncalled for. I really don't understand what you are saying in that post (and I'm not the only one). I never said that they automatically get them, I said that it has opened up a relationship allowing WB to source attractions from the other companies. This is what they have done, clearly if they are getting this Universal attraction WB has approved it. By your very own logic it is called WBMW because WB approves the attractions in the park. WB have approved this attraction so it is going in. This falls under your stated guidelines for the park being called WBMW so therefore by your own logic I do not understand how you can have a problem with the attraction. Warner Bros Approval + Attraction in Park = Warner Bros Movie World Park = Warner Bros Attraction. Warner Bros Approval + Shrek = Warner Bros Theme Park Attraction Doesn't make all that much sense to me but it would appear that it makes sense to you seen though you wrote it
-
Well you should buy yourself a ticket to Disneyland Luna This is really crazy, first of all everyone knows that the park is getting it, so why bother to keep trying to prove a point otherwise? To be honest I never knew Superman was a WB character and I didn't have a problem with them getting the coaster, I just went with it. Similarly the public that may not know about Shrek won't care either. It's a movie, this is a movie park, DONE DEAL. The fact it's called WBMW is because THEY OWNED IT! Nothing to do with what was in it, just who paid the bills and the credit for it, that's about as simple as it gets. If we didn't get Shrek then we would probably get a half arsed attraction of a movie that wasn't that great. This was we are getting a KICK ARSE attraction on a movie that is FANTASTIC. And I'll agree that this would have to be the best non-disney 4D there is, why aren't we all jumping for joy over how great the park is becoming? You're argument about Disney is silly, that is Disney, Disney will always be in a category of it's own (and for good reason!), the normal rules just don't apply. When WB starts building 100 to 200 million dollar (US mind you) totaly imersive attractions, perfect in every sense as opossed to really well done for the money 12 million dollar AU attractions then you can put the two in the same category. It's a pretty simple arrangement, Universal (and FOX) are now shooting in the Gold Coast studios, that relationship has allowed deals like this one to take place, so there you go. Funny, I was having a conversation the other day about when people would get all anti Movie World over Shrek, we actually thought it would be someone else who would do it.

I don't really see how it is even up for debate, there is simply no way you can do everything at Dreamworld in one day. That is the very definition of a Two Day park. I can do Disneyland AND DCA in one day, but I wouldn't have done everything there, just because a particular person doesn't want to do everything doesn't mean it's suddenly a single day park. I can honestly say I've never gone to DW more than one day on each visit to the Gold Coast but that is my choice. More do to with the frequency that I visit the place than anything else. Plus over the years I HAVE seen and done/ridden everything in the park so I can make a choice these days. You only have to look at Sea World to see where I'm coming from. SW is without a doubt a 2 Day Park, you can't even see all the shows there in one day let alone go on all the rides and eat and do whatever else you might like. DW has a fair bit more than SW so there you go I recon, case solved. Movieworld off peak definately a one day park... but I get the feeling that will change over the years.

I'll second the vote for Wipeout, it's still my favourite ride after all these years. I'd have to put it down as my favourite flat ride out of anything I've been on in the world. Like Joz said it's just a really solid attraction, what is even more amazing is it's a Vekoma! Provides really good thrills that just make you smile, doesn't get you sick at all (which I do find with The Claw).

Macquarie Leisure announces 'Citywalk on Coomera'

I like Robina too, but that's more because of the random hot chicks you meet on planes that happen to live there -
