I'm not too sure what part it is, but you have to be precise when cutting these parts, its happened once before with my Rainbow model, so I just emailed Faller and they sent out the part, free of charge.

Spin Dragon is indeed manufactured by Fabbri. It was a shame that it crashed. I'm just glad I got to ride it, it was a fairly cool ride. Also, Huss' Topspin is massive, and very impressive, even though videos don't do it justice, i'd love to see one in person in Germany! that would be fantastic chris

Liam, some faller parts are just like that, they can't always be precise, which most of the time they are. Like I said, if you have a problem, just email them, and they will send out the piece within 10 days.

Lol, well I actually haven't seen the road laws from amusement rides in Australia, but I have been told by several carnival operators, what rides aren't allowed here because I heard some owners have inquired about rides from overseas Chris
-
yeah mate they might be well over 100tonnes but its beer, it's far more important than rides, and they and most other things that australia needs takes priority on the road. And Rich, there is a future, im just saying that the new rides that owners buy, will either be used or co-owned with other operators. Like with O'Neills and Wittingslow. O'Neills would operate most of Wittingslows rides in sydney, I know that Ranger and Rainbow were both co-owned, until O'Neills bought the two rides from wittingslow in 2002. The Crazy Mouse is owned by Tpa and Fjf Amusements, I'm not quite sure where FJF operate it, but Tpa operate it most of the time. I'm just saying we wont be seeing large thrill rides, like Topspin, Maurer & Sohne FreeFall Tower, TopScan or some other big attractions because of cost, size and laws. chris p.s good topic, this is what I like talking bout p.p.s sorry wonder, I thought it was dan, lol and it wasnt rubbish
-
good luck man, really most operators here these days aren't soo much interested in new rides, they are looking to buy off each other, or co-own with other owners. p.s gazza, daniels post was like yesterday bout it being rubbish
-
Ah no daniel it's not a load of rubbish, its true facts, weights and sizes of most rides that travel in germany aren't able to travel here because of size and weight, the australian road laws just dont permit them. Also Lauries Breakdance that was next to Rainbow at the show this year, has special permition because it is larger than the average Sobema Breakdance. I heard Lauries had to get a special permit to get it, but rides like Topspin wouldn't be able to because they are wayy over the level. chris

Richard, Road laws play a major part in the transportation of amusement rides. Since most new rides are on low flat bed trailers, their weight plays a big part. The Huss TopSpin would never be able to travel here, because 1. Weight of the trailers 2. Size of the trailers so most new thrill rides wouldnt be able to travel here, unlike germany who allow any weight of the rides. Also I must admit Oz has their fair share of Zippers, I think we have like 5, I kinda don't see the point, but oh well they are popular.

yes well rainbow uses alot of hydrolic fluid for the 4 drives and grease is used on rides alot, all part of the process. Also liam, wed have rides like germany if: 1. no road rules 2. very rich travelling carnival families 3. Huss Rides, and other large manufacturer offices in Australia
-
lol, well i edited it, and its 11 NOW lol and also the final figure is a bit off but that kinda gives you are rough idea also yes the rainbows diesel generator needs petrol to run, also petrol for its 3 trucks and I don't care what the rides like ill ride it, at least id die on sumthing i love

Well operators are making money out of it, the operators make quite a killing at the royal shows. Like with the Melbourne Show, in 2003, you had to pay like $5 at the rides ticket box, and the money went to the operators. When you think about it: Rainbow: Seating: 36 people Hourly Capacity: 600 Cost Per Ride: $5 Times this by the amount of hours the ride runs each day, on average. The ride runs for 11 days in Melbourne. So this is on approx how you'd kinda work it out 10am - 10pm 600 x 12 = $7200 (This would be if Rainbow run full loads non-stop all day) Over 12 Days: $7200 (over 12 hours) x 11days = $792,000 So the money goes towards repairs, paying the ShowGround for space, and petrol / operation costs

Melbourne's Southern Star rolls near
HussRainbow replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
it would have been better to have that wheel that was going to go in southbank, Wittingslow were going to be in that, but the development never went through, I actually have seen the area where the wheel is supposed to go, and I dunno, seems like in the middle of crap at the moment, I won't ride it, I have more fun riding the wheel at the show! -
I thought it was pretty cool, i liked how they filmed Enterprise and UFO, but I think they shoulda shown some Ranger hehe p.s Good to be back, wont be makin anymore trouble soz
-
im 16, im not gonna use proper words yet..... sorry
-
Liam didnt write the captions............. and lol talk back on msn, if you want something to say to me without the defence of the others
-
well if the others hadnt been smart @sses then i wouldnt have to be a **** to them! plus its not like any of u's take any notice of my serious posts
-
and I was right about Durkin, because they operate it and its DURKIN'S SKYMASTER WHEEL and um.....wtf, im in year 11, theres no playgrounds where I hang out, dunno bout you, you must be some pedo or something......... oh well
-
OOps, edit that bit, I mean they didnt have an automatic break system, unlike sydneys, and adventure worlds, which is weird, because when I saw it operating at Rye in January, no changes had been made, so I dunno how Workcover has approved it. I just wonder if it will run at the Melbourne Show, but since the RASV thinks the ride has been apart of our show history, it may still run...... we will see in 5 months
-
Yeah Wittingslows Mad Mouse doesn't have blocks unlike Sydney's one, so I doubt that Wittingslow have made changes...... so really it could happen again, and dj lol, what did i get wrong when i "snapped" at liam if you are referring to MEGA DROP being 37 meters that is wrong Here is Fabbri's Technical Specs for MEGA DROP DIMENSIONS Height 35.0 metres / 115’ Width 15.9 metres / 53’ Depth 10.3 metres / 34’ VEHICLE 1 vehicle - 12 seats LOADING simultaneous CYCLE TIME 70 seconds ESTIMATED CAPACITY 600 passengers/hour POWER (installed) Motor 161 KW Services 05 KW Lights 20 KW (standard package) Required for connection city line 170 KW / 212 KVA (excluding illumination) Main application three phase + neutral + ground Voltage 380 Volts ± 5% (other versions on request) Frequency 50 Hz (other versions on request) ACCELERATION 0,5 G negative DECELERATION 5.5 G max BRAKES permanent-magnet brake WEIGHT 35 Tons SHIPPING 4 x 40’ o.t. containers INSTALLATION & TEST 6 days And the only reason I snap at people, is being they do it first... also I didnt snap at Liam i corrected and most of my posts you do realise, are about carnival rides, if you look at most posts about they show, they are regarding to things to do with the show, so stop getting soo cut
-
Looking pretty good liam, just smooth out the long sticker, I can see it curving between the joins, just get a piece of cardboard and run it along, so it will stick, and the wheels arent that small actually the little screw bits that are with topspin are wayyyyy smaller! and yes rich it is 1:87, and really I think its a perfect size also liam, you finally understood the motor, hehe EASY
-
oh you are a quick one, A.R.M actually manufactured it! and I think I know a bit more than you do, so shut your mouth!
-
No Gazza, if you look in the right corner, they are actually sides, so you contruct the tower by each panel...... and 409 parts is actually pretty good, this is how much parts my rides have.. RAINBOW - 228 parts in 5 colours WAVE SWINGER - 334 parts in 10 colours TOPSPIN - 389 parts in 5 colours BREAKDANCE - 357 parts in 8 colours FERRIS WHEEL - 267 parts in 7 colours TOP IN - 186 parts in 13 colours really 409 isnt many parts, I don't look at the box and go oh damn 409 parts, im not gonna buy it, the more the better in my case! I'll also be getting my FreeFall sometime this week, so Ill also provide some pictures when building commences
-
yeah the dodgems are motorised, they run via magnets under the base that are connected to a chain, and next model is freefall tower
-
ohhh can't wait to see all the bits you mess up, have you got tools yet?
-
Yes every Faller model is motorised, and certain rides have a computer, that controls the sequence of the ride. Top Spin has one, Wave swinger and Free Fall also have them, these are circuit boards that control the rides cycle. Rides like the breakdance and ferris wheel, just connect up to a power pack (12-16v) and run just by flicking the switch at your power point (note: all rides need to be connected to a power pack, the rides with computers also connect to the power pack)
