  1. I can assure you that it won't be Taz, considering that it's in Malaysia now. "The Bus is now leaving for Malay Pool, Western Australia"
  2. I didn't really want to post this here but seeing as the quote I am using is from here, what the hell. That is partially correct but the major reason was due to safety concerns. The doors could not be relied on to open at the right time but more importantly not to close too early. Think about what a mess it would be is a cabin weighing close to a tonne hit a large metal object at around 100 Km/h. It wouldn't be a pretty site. A leg here, a arm there, not good. "The Bus is now leaving for Eldo Mess, South Australia"
  3. Thanks mandajk13 your trip reports are exactly what I was talking about. Most people have a great day and leave it at that. They don't look at theming or capacity (unless it is extremely slow). "The Bus is now leaving for Great Bay, Tasmania"
  4. I hate to contradict you but the management of all the theme parks in Australia read this forum on a regular basis (more than once a week). How do I know this you ask? Well I used to work at Wonderland and there was a certain Operations Manager there named Zoe, who used to work at Seaworld, as did numerous other high level managers including the CEO Stephen Galbraith. They all read this forum and they all had ties and contacts at the other parks on the Gold Coast. I can give you an example to prove what I am saying, there was certain information posted here about Wonderland by a staff member, the information that was posted was only known about by a small group of staff, when the information came out, Zoe took disciplinary action against the staff member who leaked it. I am not going to make any comments on Dreamworlds capacity as I haven't been there in a long time and therefore cannot comment with any authority. But I will say this, what about safety factors? You can only run rides at a certain speed with limited personnel and still keep operation safe. I am defiantly not saying that more personnel is the answer because in Australia it's not, the reason is that most rides here are setup to operate with minimum staff and don't work well with more. "The Bus is now leaving for Naughty Chief Lodge, South Australia"
  5. I am interested to read trip reports done on this site but they are getting very boring and repetitive. Next time someone here wants to do a trip report on a park do so but get one of the people that you go with (not a theme park enthusiast) to do one too and post it at the same time. I'm sure that what most people here perceive as deficiencies and inadequacies will not be mentioned in the report. Basically what I’m trying to get at is that the vast majority of people who visit parks will not even notice if a ride has little or no theming or does not fit into the area and look at the whole park and day as a whole. "The Bus is now leaving for Jack Tripovich Reserve, Victoria"
  6. Does anyone here actually read before posting? I have specifically said that the ride(s) they will be getting are NOT carnival rides. I can think of three rides from Wonderland that they would be interested in and would have to room for. It doesn't matter if people have ridden them before, look at Wild Mouse it's a piece of crap coaster that is way to old yet people still go there to ride it, same goes for most of the rides at the park. If a park, say Dreamworld, built something like Coney Island would anyone here be impressed? Definitely not yet that type of attraction would probably do well and would bring a new demographic into the park. Dude Ranger is not Ok. The residents behind the park have been winging about it ever since the park re-opened and some have actually gone down to the operator and started yelling abuse at them telling them to turn the ride off because it's too loud. If they put a new ride like Rainbow further away from the water and therefore closer to the residents it would cause more problems. Read above comments regarding residents, this wont work. Think about the rides that Wonderland has got and then think about what might fit in there are only a few and they are all flat rides. How do you know if they are famous people if the pictures don't look like them? I don't think that water slides would work at Luna Park. I don't know why I just don't think they would fit in. Did you mean Luna Park not Wonderland? And again Luna Park will not be getting any large rides like Bounty's Revenge, the residents would kick up so much of a stink that the council and Luna Park would be forced to go back on those plans. "The Bus is now leaving for Council Creek, NSW"
  7. About time someone picked up on what I was saying, if I had been any more obvious I would have had to supply diagrams showing how the ride(s) are going to be transported. As for Luna Park getting a Rainbow or another coaster it won't happen. Just look at the reason why Dreamworld has Cyclone, it's the same reason the park closed and why staff cop abuse from residents. "The Bus is now leaving for Village Of Copteton, NSW"
  8. So why did the three coaster at Wonderland all have 7 carriage trains? Maybe because it's a prime number and they are funky. What has Vekoma got to do with that lack of maintenance that has resulted in the majority of rides becoming crap? I take my hat off to the maintenance guys at all theme parks in Australia they really do a lot of hard work but when management doesn't listen to the people in the know and put a bit of money into things that’s when good rides go bad (someone should do a TV show with that title, just like 'When good times go bad' or 'When morons get together'). "The Bus is now leaving for Port Prime, South Australia"
  9. Bush Beast is so old that I'm guessing that all the arsenic used to treat the timber will have seeped out of the wood completely so a bonfire wouldn't be out of the question. We could organise a trip and take some sausages and marshmallows to toast over the fire. Why would you want in at your place Doctor? One large gust of wind would blow it over and take out your house. "The Bus is now leaving for Arsenic Creek, NSW"
  10. The ride(s) are not carnival rides and are more of a permanent thing. All I will say at the moment is 'think outside the square'. I am waiting for a bit more info before I say what rides will be there, but there won't be any 'thrill' rides as such appearing at Luna Park. Yeah Huss that signature was very boring, not like mine. "The Bus is now leaving for St. Albans Permanent Common, NSW"
  11. An orphaned polar bear cub is on its way to Seaworld and will be seen from December. This is great news after the death of Kanook. Info here and here. "The Bus is now leaving for Polar Star Mine, Victoria"
  12. My sources tell me that the slides will be staying in NSW. There are a few interested parties still so they could be going to a couple of different places. Saying that the sale of the slides is still not a sure thing and in the end they may go to the scrap heap. As for the other rides it looks like most of them will be staying in NSW (in what for I'm not sure) but there are a couple of interested buyers from interstate. I presume you are talking about the Australian Labor Party, if so, why did you think that? After all this is the Wonderland Sydney forum. "The Bus is now leaving for Slide Inn, Victoria"
  13. Huss why did you edit out all that stuff about not being allowed to say anything and that you had already copped some crap for doing it? It wasn't as if you had said anything interesting. "The Bus is now leaving for Spion Cop, Queensland"
  14. Personally I can't see Dreamworld taking anything from Wonderland. Why would they, they obviously have plenty of money at the moment. Whoever buys (if anyone) the slides will have to replace the tower and have Aqua Tube cleaned and resealed as it wasn't done during the last refurbishment. If the slides are going to go anywhere I betting that they will stay in NSW, but I think that they will not get a buyer for them and will be scrapped. More information about the future of Wonderland rides coming soon. "The Bus is now leaving for Sealers Springs, Tasmania"

  16. Hows that 'interim heritage order' going Zordy? I hate to double post but seeing as it has been over a month since the last post I'm sure no one will care. "The Bus is now leaving for New Norcia Heritage Trail, Western Australia"
  17. Wonderland may be left with most of its ride assets in January when the handover occurs. They have lost many opportunities to sell most of, if not all of the rides but they are unwilling to let potential buyers bargain the price down to a reasonable level. There have been several interested parties but have all been forced to turn their backs and walk away due to Wonderlands unwillingness to drop the price. It should be interesting to see what happens come January. "The Bus is now leaving for Moneybung, NSW"
  18. Yeah thanks Sga. Next time you want to ruin a thread do it in the Chit-Chat section. Now for something relevant to the thread, does anyone here eat Pluto Pups? You know the hotdog on a stick that’s in batter then dipped in tomato sauce. "The Bus is now leaving for Dar Tomato Bay, Norfolk Island"
  19. That wasn't very nice sga. I will expect a written apology on my desk by lunch time tomorrow. Ok Hussy you don't have a sister, what about the person who gave birth to you? "The Bus is now leaving for Birthamba, Queensland"
  20. My guess is the Hussy either has six fingers or webbed toes or he is having 'relations' with his sister. Any of those will give the Carnies a reason to welcome someone with open arms. "The Bus is now leaving for Brother And Sister, Tasmania"
  21. Nebuchadnezzar is the name of the ship in the Matrix series, hence the question "What is the...?" The Nebuchadnezzar you are referring to was actually an ancient King not a God. I found this about him: King Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar was the king of the Chaldean (also known as the Neo-Babylonian) Empire (see Ancient Empires - Babylon). He was born about 630 B.C., and died around 562 B.C. at age 68. He was the most powerful monarch of his dynasty, and is best known for the magnificence of his capital, Babylon. From here. And this: "Modern research has shown that Nebuchadnezzar was the greatest monarch that Babylon, or perhaps the East generally, ever produced. He must have possessed an enormous command of human labor, nine-tenths of Babylon itself, and nineteen-twentieths of all the other ruins that in almost countless profusion cover the land, are composed of bricks stamped with his name. He appears to have built or restored almost every city and temple in the whole country. His inscriptions give an elaborate account of the immense works which he constructed in and about Babylon itself, abundantly illustrating the boast, 'Is not this great Babylon which I have build?'" Rawlinson, Hist. Illustrations. After the incident of the "burning fiery furnace" (Dan. 3) into which the three Hebrew confessors were cast, Nebuchadnezzar was afflicted with some peculiar mental aberration as a punishment for his pride and vanity, probably the form of madness known as lycanthropy (i.e, "the change of a man into a wolf"). A remarkable confirmation of the Scripture narrative is afforded by the recent discovery of a bronze door-step, which bears an inscription to the effect that it was presented by Nebuchadnezzar to the great temple at Borsippa as a votive offering on account of his recovery from a terrible illness. (See DANIEL.) He survived his recovery for some years, and died B.C. 562, in the eighty-third or eighty-fourth year of his age, after a reign of forty-three years, and was succeeded by his son Evil-merodach, who, after a reign of two years, was succeeded by Neriglissar (559-555), who was succeeded by Nabonadius (555-538), at the close of whose reign (less than a quarter of a century after the death of Nebuchadnezzar) Babylon fell under Cyrus at the head of the combined armies of Media and Persia. From here. "The Bus is is now leaving for Nebea, NSW"
  22. I changed the year instead of the month. Neb I have one question for you What is the....? "The Bus is now leaving for After Many Years Mine, Western Australia"
  23. How can you defend poodles? All they are, are rats or greyhounds, depending on their size that have had a perm and a pedicure. How can you call an animal with a Fro and a pedicure a dog? "The Bus is now leaving for Frocester, NSW"
  24. Again, my guess is that the 27th of August was a Saturday. It's amazing how calendars work isn't it? "The Bus is now leaving for Caleneula, Queensland"
  25. I'm guessing he visited the park on the 27th of August, hence the title of the thread. Just a guess, I may be wrong. "The Bus is now leaving for Date Palm Creek, Western Australia"
