  1. I have had my own experience of light on and lights off and the lights on was more crazy then lights off. I was riding the supernova at Expo 88 when it stopped at the final brake run before it entered the station. The light came on and they pushed us back into the station. They sent us around a second time, I can only assume they forgot to turn the lights out again. The supernova I would class as a family coaster but not for smaller kids. Once the lights came on it became a thrill coaster there was a lot of track squeezed in that shed so the whole ride was full of head choppers and the drops that where very steep but you lose that perspective on a ride when you have no horizon line.
  2. Mikaykay as a self-appointed air crash investigator, I mean self-appointed coaster crash investigator I have a few question for you. What location on the track was the car when you heard the bang? When you saw the parts fly off did you see the front car go first or the back car or couldn’t see? How long did you think the grinding lasted for? How long after you heard the bang did it take the second car on the track to stop? Did they get your details before you left? Do you like chocolates?
  3. Yea I was listening to him on the radio just now. Apparently to him it is standard practice for the CEO the help in all Estops.
  4. They had cranes there last night and it was all lit up so I would say they worked through the night.
  5. I just listened to Rob on Hot Tomato and he said that this is very rare that something like this would happen but it can happen. No disrespect to Rob but the media are clutching at straws a bit if they are getting news from Rob it’s not like he has any more information on what happened then us.
  6. I have been hearing the same about the bolts but that could mean anything.
  7. I'm thinking what would be big enough to take both out. Just some random thoughts. Could it be the back car failed and the extra weight of the car and the forces placed to much load on the front car. (But surely it has been designed to carry the extra load because derailments have happens before). I also think did something on the track break and hit the side of it. (I've been looking at photos but can't see anything but what would I know lol) I have even had the thought of sabotage.
  8. I have seen both parks training with the fire department early in the mornings. The last one I did see was at dw when the fire department where pulling dummies out of the buzz saw while it was upside down.
  9. Fine, why do you think this is the same as every other estop?
  10. How lucky that no one was injured. Not only did it remain on track but it stopped just before the blocking system.
  11. This picture might show it better. When I look under his arm i'm sure it's not the same
  12. Remember what happened last time DW tried to do a rollercoaster after a racing theme. We got a flat rollercoaster. If they did a Bathurst layout at least we would get to ride the dipper but any other track is pretty flat. I also hope they don't show the current cars because they are all about to change. I DW where to build a decent rollercoaster themed around the V8”s (sorry I can’t stop laughing) then I would like the train to be themed around and xy or an old 05 car.
  13. The first thought that is rushing in my head is oh no they are remove the bikes off MDMC and replacing it with plastic V8 Cars.
  14. As I said this is going round and round. i don't know why you think I have been pulling all this wild crap out I have been repeating what DW have said. If you have any evidence to oppose what DW is saying then I would like to see it. I have also added my own views on the subject which I believe I have the right to. I have no idea of what situation you think I have created and yes I am bored with this discussion now because it is not going anywhere.
  15. Well this is just going round and round. Arguing on the internet is the verbal equivalent of knife fighting with bananas. No one wins, and you both end up looking stupid.
  16. I not attempting to accuse you of ignorance I am stating that if you know how a lap bar works that you would know that a second locking system would stop the lap bar from opening up. What you keep saying is there was a safety issue and a risk to riders. How can there be risk to riders if the lap bap even when its first locking system failed continued to do what it was designed to do? No one was at risk of falling out because the lap bar would still its job that it was designed to do. You keep saying its newsworthy. How is the local paper printing misguided information newsworthy? I don't believe any other parks that have this ride read the local rag. I believe DW have done everything that they needed to do. They have shut the ride and contacted the manufacture to come up with a solution. If DW have discovered a major problem with this do you really think the manufacture would not inform the other parks on how it needs to be fixed. You have also claimed that this has happened because DW is to busy doing other things. Have you seen the comments people are leaving already when they have no idea as to what has happened? THEMEPARKDUDE people have asked you many times about how you heard about this and you have not answered anyone. DW has also come out and said there was no incident with riders that sparked the closure. But you have said a rider was on the ride at the time that it failed so I am asking you how do you know this?
  17. I think you might need a lesson in how these systems work. You keep saying it’s a safety issue but if you understood how a lap bar worked you would know you if anyone rode it they would be perfectly safe I’m sorry but you don’t know what you are talking about.
  18. I agree with you Brad2912 how many times to you turn up to a park and find a sign that a ride has closed for the day it even says it on the webpages that it happen. Maybe WEBSLAVE would like to see the news headline because it would be the true headline. “Staff at Dreamworld did what they are trained to do and picked up an issue with a ride that no one was ever in danger of falling out because of the safety systems” Sorry WEBSLAVE the Gold Coast news has a bad rep for putty out crap stories and I would not rely on a first time poster to get your information from.
  19. Why would we have a real disaster here when it was picked up during normal test without anyone in the seat.
  20. How is it news worthy when while DW are doing their normal morning checks they found a problem? Planes would be in the news 50 times a day if news was shown because a problem was found during standard checks before take-off. From what I have read the problem was found during normal checks and not during a cycle with a person riding it. DW own statement. "They’ve got to keep it closed until they’ve done a full assessment. “No one will ever be in danger because of those safety layers.” "The spokeswoman said there was no incident with riders that sparked the closure." Case closed
  21. In today's news "The Theme Park Social Network" copy other sites news stories and believe everything that they have read without using the thin between the ears. (Without trying to derail this conversation. Has anyone noticed The Theme Park Social Network dude is at Movieworld/SeaWorld every day? I put this down to he does not have a job and can’t afford a pass to Dreamworld)
  22. Gold Coast Bulletin love to talk stuff up. In today’s headline. "BIG THRILL RIDE CLOSED INDEFINITELY" But could you image it. 3 rides closed down for good in one area but still standing. Maybe that area needs to be renamed the graveyard
