Mainly the time at the top though... Or they could just hire a 3rd person to be grouping while 2 run the ride... Or maybe synchronize them that they dispatch at the same time. Only using the western control panel that can control them both. And then the 2nd gondola operator could be grouping riders up so they can just get on and go.

I still think it is STUPID how long it takes for the car to go from when it slows down to releasing. Not to mention when it goes slow at the end before engaging the gondola. If they went faster during that time, Capacity would greatly improve I reckon. Shaving off around 30 - 40 secs of the cycle time.

Dreamworld Opens at 1:30pm, and closes at 5:30pm on Friday.

I think my fondest memory of that was when they had the Stand up and Sit Down gondolas. I think i was loaded with a girl who wore a pink tutu... way back in 1994

The Parachute tower ride that used to be at Wonderland Sydney. If I remember correctly it was near the GoldRush entry.

I have actually noticed them several times, just never been bothered about it really. And how long did it take for the GD to come back down? I've seen it having to come down slowly from about halfway up several times and it took about 5 mins from there... You would think they would make it descend a bit faster lol.

What I do at night is between me and the teddy!

See Okay... I didn't source that one out... but we can pretend!
-
Hmmm... thats one of the few things I actually would have NO idea about. I shall try and source it out asap... But I would presume it would be for emergency contact.
-
Hmmm... If all else fails I may try Wiki. But I don't really see much point in DW going to lengths to remove it if construction starts tomorrow. There wont be any point hiding what the ride is going to look like etc.
-
Well... It's about Fu**ing time some work has been done on it! After how many years now? It hasn't even opened yet and hooligans have managed to clamber up it also!

Probably a Holiday Seasonal, I've found all sorts of things on buses before, from WVTP name badges, wallets, iPods you name it. But it was a very interesting find. But as i've said in my previous post if DW / WWW requests the image be removed I have no issues with it.

I was down at Dreamworld today. There isn\'t currently any construction going on, but on the way home I found a Dreamworld Staff Newsletter on the floor of the bus. It had a pic of concept art for SpongeBob FlyPants. I will post it here, but if you have to remove it Richo, feel free to.

Paul, You must have picked up my theme park curse! Breaking all the rides like that... You've stolen what I do best... Daniel "Nothing beats Breaking Bermuda 6 times in one day" Harmer

I did notice that banner last time I was there. This must be part of there Park Wide Cleanup that is happening in the next twelve months.

Uh... no If Dreamworld DID market this as there new thrill ride, I have lost ALL faith in marketing.
-
Just be lucky it hasn't blown the main lift motor on lethal! It did that just before SE opened if I recall. Also the claw has seemed to have floor issues of late. But this Superman issue, it seems a bit of a worry... Maybe all the Intamin rides are failing on us! Superman, Claw, Motocoaster and Surfrider... it's a winning combo

Well as far as location goes, there is that huge concrete area where the "Pot A Chook" and "Fried Frogs" used to be. These have since been re-located to Eureka's site. And that concrete area is quite a large slab of land, and also right in front of the Nick Stuff store. So my guess is that will be the location for SpongeBob FlyPants. I should be heading down there in the next week or so, I will try and get some construction snaps.

And "Giddy Galleon" Come on, thats just stupid. But they at least got a new paintjob for this ride -
I will be heading down to Dreamworld when i'm not working. (Who knows when that will be. But thats the wonders of being a Boostie) And no probs on the heads up. But I will keep everyone up to date on progress.

Dreamworld's newest ride is set to start construction on the 21st of April. Located outside of the "Nick Stuff" shop. The expected opening date is unconfirmed but likely to be some time during June. "SpongeBob FlyPants is perfect for the whole family and has the capacity for 24 riders per ride. With 2 guests per carriage taking to the sky at super fun speed for everyone. The ride will plunge guests into an imaginary deep sea world where they will soar and spin through the fantasy 'Jellyfish Fields' known to be his favorite fishing spot. Lying flat on there stomachs, guests will weightlessly weave around a larger-than-life SpongeBob sculpture as he takes flight aboard a wild jellyfish." The ride Model is a "Zamperla Kite Flyer"

Yeah, where abouts were you working? I think it took about 30 minutes to get in the front gate even! But yeah, there was a evacuation at around 1:30pm that lasted 10 - 15 minutes. Then at around 2:00pm another evacuation that lasted 10 - 15 minutes. And then at around 3pm there was a 35 min evacuation. And SurfRider's Jets were running earlier in the day but not in the afternoon. And I think Wet n Wild could go with a whole park paintjob. I mean Surfrider and Tornado are just some examples, but not to mention black hole and other slides.
-
I was down at Wet n Wild today, despite having to be evacuated from the slides / pools several times from storms. Surfrider was experiencing ALOT of tech issues. It had several breakdowns, ranging from the floors getting stuck to harnesses not releasing. And also one of the rings (the one facing AOS) isn't spinning at all for some reason. The harnesses have also seen better days, the black rubber is starting to really show through the blue. The cycle has also got SHORTER... You get 2 full shuttles before slowing right back down to stop, along with the water not working. And is it just me or does Surfrider REALLY need a new paintjob?

Fire Warnings a Threat to Dreamworld
Spotty replied to ThemeParksAustralia's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah, I can imagine. I've seen a few incidents at Dreamworld over the past few years. One comes to mind that I saw about 9 months ago now. Someone was in Goldrush and somehow managed to crack there head open. I then went into "Fairytale Treasures" and told a staff member, within about one minute there were several medics and staff sorting the situation out. So this would be another example of how efficient the systems they have in place really are. -
Fire Warnings a Threat to Dreamworld
Spotty replied to ThemeParksAustralia's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Going by what Joz is saying, Yes the staff will panic and worry. But they will not show this, Recently working at Movie World there fire training was very informative. It was brief but it focused on the main points: What to do in the event of an Evacuation (Remain Calm, and Get staff and patrons out via the quickest safe route) Fire Extinguisher usage and all the other general stuff. I would presume that Dreamworld / WhiteWater World would have similar training practices available. So the staff would know what to do in the event of an Evacuation. And as it has been previously mentioned, Dreamworld staff have to have a refresher course every year and it is also part of COMPULSORY company induction. Also never seeing a mass evacuation before, I can't judge on how promptly they could evacuate the whole property, but it would be quicker than a standard "Home Time" procedure. But one thing that would take some time to do and would be VERY risky, is the animals. Now back in 2003 when there was the Canberra bush fires (which I was there for) They had to evacuate the National Zoo / Aquarium, and I have NO idea what they did with the animals. There is no way they would have been left there as the whole parkway (main road) going past there was completely closed off. So that would raise another interesting point with evacuating the park.
