  1. Hey, finally some solid info from Dreamworld!!! I personaly don't think that the coaster should have been named after somebody, but who cares. Most of the public won't say that they are going to ride the "Mick Doohan Moto Coaster" there just going to say "Moto Coaster". However, the presentaion of the name is really good. Oh, and thanks for the pictures Churros, you have provided some great views of the ride especially with more of the track up!! It seems to be a pretty decent coaster, especially the ending before the brakes (totally unexpected, thought they were going to do a turn around and then a small hill into the brakes). However, there is one complant. How come for all this time we have been told that it will be a family rollercoaster?? . It clearly states in one of Churros's pictures that the sign says: "Get behind the handlebars of the ultimate motorcycle thrill ride!! Apart from that it seems to be a good investment from Dreamworld and will most likely set a standard for the rest of the parks to follow!! Thanks again Churros for going out of your way to keep us updated! CoasterBoy8
  2. Hey Guys, all finished!! Suprisingly it only took me about half an hour! It's a very small segment and only goes for about a minute. It's filmed next to Wild Wild West Falls so there is some good stuff in the background. However, it is not so good quality. Anyway, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn3Y9_4KBBI I would appreciate it if some body rates it!! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  3. Hey I taped it!!!! It was a small segment, but I'll TRY MY BEST (not promising) to put it up. Beause I have recorded it on a hard-drive recorder (which is not connected to the computer), I'll have to to burn it to DVD, rip it off on the computer, convert it into a smaller file and then, finally, upload it up onto Youtube. You'll probably see it up in the next week or so, we'll see! CoAsTeRbOy8
  4. HOLY CRAP!! Gazza you just predicted the future! It wasn't exactly perfect but you sort of had the right idea. However, I like your idea much better than what Dreamworld is probably doing to the area. I like the X-Sector theme idea. This is what Dreamworld should have done when they were installing TOT and GD. Because now, as they are adding in new rides/rollercoasters, DW is making the rivertown area look out of place and abandoned. A perfect example of this is Wiggles World with all of it's bright colours. Oh well, nobody can change what DW has decided to do with the area. However, there is still hope that this new coaster makes River Town not so "out-there" so to speak. CoAsTeRbOy8
  5. Thanks for the great pics Shamona! And as Gazza was saying, those supports look really bulky (even though they are small). The square look makes it look out-of-place. So now we ahve gone vertical on Dreamworld's new Motor-Coaster, I thought it might be a good idea to see what we MIGHT be install for us. Below I have taken the last picture from shamona's last post (sorry, I hope you don't mind) and tried to work out what types of elements they are. As everybody already knows, the long line of straight footers is most likely the launch track. But the other areas people are not so sure of. I'm not sure that what I put on the picture below is correct (and yes everybody is welcome to pick it to pieces!! ) but I hope it gives an idea:
  6. Since it's been a long time since the last update on the wheel I decided to take some pics! They were taken yesterday (1st of July) which means it's the start of a new month of construction, and also considering that the updates, on R-C.com.au, are taking place every month, it is a great time to post some up. And Richard, if you want to use any of the pictures on the website, go right ahead and take them!. From the pictures below it looks like the wheel is going to have more than one side of supports, which is different to the London Eye, but it's still massive! The top of the supports are nearly as tall as the Bolty Brige road; which should be right, because the Herald Sun stated that the top of the wheel is going to be as tall as those goalpost things. Oh, and I've also included a zoomed in shot of the Eureka Tower's Edge (the little box that comes out of the building), and a overview of the city. Anyway, enough of the talking, take a look at the pictures yourself:
  7. ^LOL ROFL!!! Yer, I think light blue will do the trick! Yay, we have finally got track on-site (thanks shamona! Oh, and welcome to the R-C.com.au message boards). It's only a matter of time before we start to see more than just the brack and launch tracks. Oh, and did you take any pics of the new WWW slide? It will be interesting to see what WWW comes up with to go up against W'n'W's coaster and new slides! Thanks for the pic!! CoAsTeRbOy8 Just to add to my post!: It's the time of the year again where the parks are just bombarding us with new rides and slides, I always love the middle part of the year!
  8. Hey great job T-bone, from 135 to 90kg!!!, CONGRATS! Since were on the topic of Scooby-Doo, It seems that everything is working now. Even though there are water atomizers instead of fog machines, I don't think it would make a difference (except for the temperature in the warehouse). Scooby-Doo doesn't really have to have fog. All it used to do was cover the area where the little dips took place (after the first part of the coaster). I like the idea about why the lasers switch off (ads086). It actually seems plausable, and what could be happening with the lasers, cause people are saying that they switch off randomly (some times on sometimes off). Anyway, can't wait to ride all of MW rides in september, and especially Batwing + Superman. Oh, and I'll check out the new additions to scooby. CoAsTeRbOy8
  9. I only joined as a member at the start of 2006, but I can remember the starting out of this website. It's come along way scince it's early days in 2002, and is still improving every day. I remember finding this site on google around 4 years ago, and it was just a small message board with one page full of pictures. Oh, and there was the video page. I remember the video page was the reason I visited the website becuase it was the only place I could find videos of Australian rides and coasters . The other themepark related website I visited was Theme Park Review, but they didn't have forums, and nor did they have videos of Australian themeparks (at that point of time). So for an Australian coaster fan site, R-C.com.au, was doing pretty damn well. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY R-C.com.au!!!!!!! Gee, it brings back good memories. CoAsTeRbOy8
  10. Thanks, for showing us the pics Ian!! The Tower Of Terror on-ride photo is the best out of the lot. However, for senery and all that, I would give it to the 4th picture down! CAPTION: "The sorcerer hat 110% better then Harry Potters". So TRUE!! Anyway, looking forward to any more pictures from the U.S.A. and all the updates fot the themeparks downunder. CoAsTeRbOy8
  11. Does anybody actually no that you can view the Shrek 4-D movie in your own home!! (it's only in 3-d though) Before I ever knew shrek 4-D was going to be an attraction in Movieworld, I was at Blockbuster and found this DVD. It had 2 dvd's in the box, Shrek 1 and Shrek 3-D. I borrowed it (blockbuster actually give you 3-D glasses) and to my suprise It is now used in themeparks in the U.S.A. and Australia!!! Weird You could still probably borrow it or buy the set in shops today. Anyway, back on topic. I think that Movieworld should focus on more of family orientated shows, if this is the way they're going. I used to love watching both Police Academy and the Western Magic Show, becuase everybody enjoyed them. This new Shrek show better have something "family orentated" becuase I think all teenagers like me don't want to sit through another Looney Tunes Musical Review show!! CoasterBoy6 P.S: Ihaven't posted for a while. So I guess this is my come back post!!
  12. Thanks, for posting this up!! Just wondering If it's on tonights episode (12th of May, saturday)? Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  13. So, let me get this straight!! Movieworld has recently noticed a problem with the brakes on Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster. They have linked the problem to the smoke machines, becuase the stuff that is in the smoke machines goes from a gass state to a solid state around the brakes. This is not good because the cars can slip through the brakes, even on the highest pressure. So now MV have installed mist making machines to get rid of the oil (or whatever it is) that is clogging up the brakes. Ok, so if I've been reading right, 1. MW is using another liquid in the smoke machines other than Dry Ice???? 2. MW have already installed mist machines, OR, they are thinking about it???? I really think that MW needs to find something as good OR better than the smoke machines quick smart!! Scooby-Doo is just like a normal Mad-Mouse rollercoaster without this special effect. I especially like the smoke effect when you do the first of the two steep drops and you go straight through the fog, and you are really dishorentated!!! If anybody can clear these questions, please do so. Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  14. Yer, I will. You will see it up in the next week!! CoasterBoy8 P.S: Just finished watched the Big Brother Opening night. I think it's going to be an exciting series!!
  15. What a bummer!!! I watched the whole thing hopeing for something, but there was nothing! Anyway, at least they are playing it next week, so nobody will miss out. Especially GoGoBoy!!!! For those people who want some White Water World footage have a look at this vid I put on Youtube - Waterpark Science. It was on a t.v show called "Scope", it's a kids science show. I turned on the t.v and it just happened to be on, I rushed to the hd recorder and taped it!! This is only part one of the vid. I haven't uploaded the 2nd part yet, but if somebody comments or rates the vid than i'll try and upload it today. CoasterBoy8
  16. Thanks for the heads up!! I'll be recording it, so if DW Rulz, doesn't post it up I will!! Thanks again, CoAsTeRbOy8
  17. Hey, guys thanks for you comments!! Unfortunately, the rollercoaster is not going to be built yet, probably next school holidays. I'm sorry for this, but my school gives alot of homework, and I don't get much "own time" on the weekends. I was looking at your comments Gazza, and thought that it would be a pretty good idea. Mostly, because I don't have much K'nex to build it with and because you can do alot of good elements with a lauch coaster. The only problem with this is, is the boosters. If I use the R'n'R boosters then ONLY the R'n'R car can launch through them. This means that the coaster will be operrating only with a 1 carrige train (very un-realistic ). That is why I might use a rubber band launch, or something of this nature! I haven't really decided about which type of coaster I'm going to build yet, but I have an Idea. What if I combine the 2 types togethor. E.g: make it a Giga coaster (tall lift hill, step drop, over-banked curves), but add Launch coaster elements to it (Top Hat, Inversions - In-line twists, vertical loops). OR Vice Versa. So come back to this thread in a couple months, when I'm on holidays, and I'm sure I'll be ready to start building. The topic will not be completly dead, cuase I'll try and post up a drawn plan off what the coaster is going to look like. Please be considerate with my situation, cuase I want to focus on my school work more than a toy. HOWEVER, IT WILL BE DONE!!!!! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  18. HELLO ANYBODY THERE!!!!!!! I need people to pick which type of coaster I'm going to make. Soooo, don't hesitate, just post. The best thing about it, is it's FREE!! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8 P.S: Sorry for the double post
  19. I love terror canyon, becuase of its "Roughness"!! Hardly ever do you find a waterslide that isn't smooth !!! I also love the suspence you get during the wait period, becuase you can only see the rafts come down the last dip (your wondering what happens before the splashdown??). This is way better then Blackhole, because you can see the layout of the slide before you even get to the top of the tower! CoAsTeRbOy8
  20. Ok, I'm going to be making a Knex rollercoaster using the SS and R'n'R sets. I'm thinking of doing a Intamin Gigacoaster, something like (like ) or a intamin launch coaster (like superman escape). Actually if I do a launch coaster I'll probably do a recreation of SE. Now, the problem is I've only got 2 sets, 1 screamin' serpent and 1 Rip'n'Rocket . I can asure you this is not going to build much! But for the spports I might be using this type of concept, rather than the boxy type supports that use up all of the parts! I have built a custom launch rollercoaster before, with just using the Rip'n'Rocket set and the boosters. It was bacically a recreation of Stealth at thorpe park except it had a high G-Force, overbanked turn that led into the station. However, I ran out of pieces just after I finished the overbank. Down the bottom are some pictures!! So what will it be: Intamin Gigacoaster OR Intamin Hydralic Launch Coaster????? (If you have any other suggestions on other coaster types, feel free to post it up.) THANKS, CoAsTeRbOy8 P.S: How would I make a cable launch???
  21. I know it would cost more money and would need more man power, but cumon, if Movieworld thinks that waiting 30mins for 1 ride doesn't "mind" people, then there is something wrong with them! Cause I do mind! Last September, they were running 1 train both days we were at Movieworld, and I think the longest we waited was 40mins (this was because of harness problems and a over-wieght man that couldn't fit into the seat), unlucky I guess!! However, the shortest we waited was around 15-20mins, but this was when the shows were on. I still think that Movieworld are out of their minds if they think that people "don't mind" waiting 30 mins in off-peak season for 1 ride! PLEASE MOVIEWORLD - RUN 2 TRAINS ON SUPERMAN!! well, that's my 2 cents! CoAsTeRbOy8
  22. Thanks, everybody for the tips. However, the problem is that I can't get my hands on Soaked, and only on Wild. UNLESS, I get the platinum RCT3 at Dick Smith, which is $70 for RCT3 and the 2 expansion packs . Personnally I don't think it's worth it, mabey I'll try on ebay!! So from what I have gathered, from people that have posted in this thread, is that Soaked has got much better themeing and ride effects, and Wild! has got some really good rides. And then there is NoLimits that craps all over RCT3 but does not have much themeing. So in my case I want some good themeing, that i don't have to design and some really good rollercoasters!!! So I would be looking at getting either Soaked , Wild OR NoLimits - I THINK I MIGHT JUST GET THEM ALL!!!!!! Grrrrrrr. Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  23. Another thing I was thinking about is to get NoLimits. Has anybody got NoLimits here? It seems to be the realest rollercoaster simulator out there! QUESTION: 1. Can you theme your rides you make on NoLimits, like on RCT3? 2. Is it harder to use than RCT3? If so, does it come with it's own help? 3. Do they include: Intamin launch coasters, Motor-coaster, Euro-fighter? If anybody can help me out with these questions, including my first post, that would be GREAT!!! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
  24. I'm pretty sure that people have talked about this topic before, but I want to know which one to get?I can't find Soaked anywhere, but JB-HiFi has Wild. (Wild is only $30 so I will be bying it soon.) Some questions I want to ask: 1. What are the main differences between the 2. (apart from one being waterpark and the other being a ZOO) 2. What are the new rollercoasters and rides that come in each expansion? 3. Which one has the most scenery/themeing? 4. Do any off them have a intamin Launch coaster, motor-coaster or a Euro-Fighter - like Mystery Mine? 5. Can you make billboards on Wild? I think I've got more questions, but If anybody could answer these questions this would be good, thanks: CoAsTeRbOy8
  25. I uploaded it onto Youtube, but it is alright caulity. Here is Part 1 of: SCOPE: Waterpark Science. VIDEO Please comment or rate, thanks: Coasterboy8
