  1. Oh it is, hectic, intense, fast, fun, thrilling. I think that's an adequate advertisement.
  2. If you have a computer with a microphone, just open up sound recorder, and play RCT1/2/3 and record some sounds yourself. You can alternate between full screen games and the desktop/sound recorder by pressing Alt+Enter
  3. Damn, I wasn't going to go to the RES next year. With the arrival of the Tango, which is a ride I've been interested in for, well, since I became interested in rides overseas, it looks like I'll have to go. Any word on any other rides that'll be new anytime soon? Any at all?
  4. Perhaps, but watching it at the Royal Easter Show I thought it looked rather bland in it's ride operation. Sure, it was crazy enough, but it was a sterile type of crazy, a bit like the Megamix, it did too much of the same thing. Hard rock has a familiar operation to it (it looks vastly like it is the same as the Ranger, albeit with a different seating arrangement), however one small change, and it becomes totally new. Twin Flip, although slightly similar to the Energy Storm is completely different in another way, in that it's action doesn't seem forced or bland, but rather, seems geniuenly scary, thrilling and exciting. Also, "one of Australias best rides, it flips you upside down and around and around. It is rated as one of the best rides in the world this one will have you lining up for more and more." doesn't particularly give a great description of the ride at hand. Sounds more like a posting advertisement actually. Coasterfreek, I actually have a video of what the Twin Flip is very similar too, as with the Hard Rock. So if you want em, gimme a yell.
  5. I like Intamin. Anyway, As soon as I read the first sentence I thought, damn, those trains must be in bad condition, but alas, the trains are intact. Good news. Who was most likely at fault is a good question. Disney, or Intamin? I may be wrong, but once the ride is built, doesn't the ride fall completely into the hands of the park? If that is true, then Disney would be held responcible for failing to properly maintain the ride and ansure safety, rather than Intamin being blamed for shoddy engineering. Also, perhaps having 5 trains, eleven blocks and two stations is a bit much for the one roller-coaster. I think that Disney needs to re-think that particular strategy, that seems like far too much for the one roller-coaster.
  6. I found some pictures, thanks to the people that are credited in the photos. First one is Hard Rock, then the Energy Storm, then the rather fun Twin Flip. Energy Storm and Twin Flip do look quite similar.
  7. Myes, although, I heard that the Hard Rock was there last year, or was going to be but was pulled at the last minute. I could give you some pictures, but the majority of mine come from people that probably wouldn't like me to re-produce them, so hence, I won't. The Twin Flip is similar to the KMG Experience, you can do a search on any good international carnival website for the Experience and a nice selection of photos will come up. Hard Rock is like the Dreamworld Claw, but the seats face inwards, so you can see your fellow ridees. The Energy Storm looks junky, and is hard to explain.
  8. The webmaster hey, lemme pass on some consumer feedback. Maloney's corner is terrible, do something with it please. Make the park look like it's meant to, cram the rides into the main park, whever possible, make it seem like a real Luna Park. Pass that onto your superiors.
  9. I'm pretty sure it's still a "hole in the ground." Nothing I've heard has said otherwise. Although as said, track has arrived.
  10. Well, I thought they that looked more atmospheric that way. I'll come back sooner or later with some more pictures as time goes on I suppose. Thanks for the comment
  11. Why are there two topics based around Google Earth? Why couldn't you just ask in the first one (which ever one it was) for some images from overseas or the co-ordinates?
  12. It screwed up when I downloaded it the first time, it didn't load the install file. I downloaded it again and it works wonders, try it again.
  13. It's a great program, unfortunately, for some bizarre reason they havn't covered Sydney in very much detail from Central Station and upwards. Hence, Sydney CBD is really unresearchable. It's not just Sydney either, I was looking a Amsterdam and it's not fully covered yet either (from what I saw) so the program has still got a long way to come. Baghdad is covered, and I had a nice little look at that. I didn't see too many of those gas production plants and such that the Bush administration kept going on about at their UN address 2 or so years ago I've got an image here that shows how far away the Big Brother House is away , from the rest of Dreamworld, for that person that wanted to know. It's that little square builDING right off to the left. I also visited SFMM, theres a pic there. Scream is built, so it's pretty new.
  14. For anyone interested, I'm slowly building a new park in RCT3, where I'm imposing a fake height limit. I'm using scenario editor, but I'm not gonna put on that height limit option, because it may interfere a little bit too much with my creation. I'm basically going for a Alton Towers/Generic park design, and hence most of my roller-coasters will be in valleys, or buried and definately not jet out into the sky. Here are two screenshots so far... Suggestions, complaints & insults about my effort are all welcome.
  15. Meh, on that documentary/TV Movie, Day of the Roses (about the Granville train crash) there was some footage of Luna Park's old Big Dipper.
  16. Thanks a lot, I took a look at it and it seems basically just like RCT's noise, just, I'm guessing, a lot louder.
  17. Whoa a video, who would have thought people on this site would have theme park videos. lol, only kidding, yeah, I've never been overseas, so I can't speak from experience, but from videos I've seen, reports I've read and pictures I've looked at it seems like an awesome place. Crowded too.
  18. Actually, Gosford ain't a bad idea. I could really see one being somewhere up there, theres plenty of room, nice transport links and such. The Lower half of the central coast is a great idea!
  19. Putting a Disney park in Adelaide is the stupidest idea I've heard in quite some time. No offence to the nice city, I'm sure it's a great place, but it definately can't handle a theme park like a Disney park. It's population is growing, but Queensland, NSW & Victorias population is growing faster, plus they all have large established populations already. Queenslands population is absolutely booming as well, and has been for quite some time. NSW's airport flow is about 3 times as large as any other city in Australia, so there is no way that Adelaide can boast about that. Sure, it could get lucky like the Gold Coast...right? I doubt it, The Gold Coasts boom was an extremely lucky one. At the time it started to boom it was basically a one of a kind, it was a short drive away from Queenslands major city, and a one hour flight from Sydney. It has a great climate (not just sunny days) and it has great beaches. One theme park grew to four, a movie studio moved there, apartments began to grow like...er...fast. Putting a theme park in Adelaide would seriously, be stupid. It'll be either Sydney, or the Gold Coast for sure.
  20. Stuff it out near Camden, that'd be awesome.
  21. Because, It will be at least a few years before young Neb ventures overseas, and now it's bugging him because he hears things about it all the time.
  22. Rules? Jeez I dunno, I guess all I would expect is that the coasters have to be reasonable (Hyper Rails displays G-Forces so you can monitor it, I dunno about No Limits) in terms of intensity and stuff. Er, the track would have to be not too long and have pretty reasonable track elements in it (as in, no continuous helixes like you see in some coasters that have been made in RCT). I guess they'd be what it'd be judged on. It'd also have to flow well and be smooth, no harsh changes in direction unless it's within context (like on Nemesis, the rapid turns on that are reasonable). They're just my thoughts.
  23. Yeah, I've been searching around for a little while for a file with a recording of this so called massive sound for a while now. I'm just curious, and have been getting more curious after failing to find anything good on the internet. If anyone knows of anywhere I can hear this sound on the internet...for free, Jim would be ever so glad. Description would also be cool. It's just one of those things that I seem to be interested in for no reason at all Thanks.
  24. Wow, totally off topic for a thread about the Superman Track, and I know this is old news, but that Intamin box section track looks so heavenly, mmmm.
