  1. I assume youve all seen the two supports pretuding from the international court? Now there finnaly at the stage the Showgrounds wheel is at EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR. Good work team.
  2. Didnt amazons (as a final straw) close because some kid hit the concrete from the slide if I recall from when I first came here... I also remember the park was hardly open even in summer and was known to change owners alot.... but like all local and moderately fun parks... crushed by the majors.
  3. Who doesnt love motorcoaster since they covered it in starch, a much smoother ride. And doesnt the wipeout look nice since they decorated it in potatoes and corn
  4. EDIT- Disney-Universal Type Park Boredom and procrastination. 1.Park overview, including parking lot SCR3.BMP 2.End Of The World Safaris SCR6.BMP 3.Rapid Mountain SCR5.BMP 4.Tower Of Terror SCR4.BMP
  5. When Disney introduced fake snow many a Christmas ago to Disneyland's Fireworks Finale it was marketed with fake news reports reporting heavy snow in California and a reporter standing in what looked like a snow storm, with satellite images of LA and where the snow was falling. "Predominately in the Disneyland area". I think half of the state went to Disneyland following that day, to find out it was one street, and lasted a minute. Successful, but mean, advertising.
  6. Sunshine Coast to become "Theme park capitol of the world" Thats a good one
  7. Naww I Feel so loved : p I will clarify, it was rotating but not as quickly as the others, it was also making a high pitched whizzing (Just imagine it as well as you can) and I would put it down to the ride wasn't safe for operation, as why the ride was down for the rest of the day. As to how it was broken, speak no evil, hear no evil. I apologize for not being specific on the details, but at the time I didn't think this was a rare occurance...
  8. More experiences of mine; Good old X, and the adventures of the non rotating side carriage. Evacuated from Canada (Section of Epcot) for reasons still unknown... I forgot about that, i still wonder why. While watching The Snow White show at Disneyland we saw what appeared to be a light fall from the rigging and fall behind the tree facade, on which we heard "For the safety of our cast and your safety this show will be back within minutes", this lasted sometime, before my family gave up and we left along with half the arena. As we were leaving a medical cart left the behind areas and darted across the forecourt and into another behind area assisted by security cast clearing a path. I presume one of the seven dwarfs was knocked down to size (Pun intended). Over at DCA all the lifts accidentally entered the twilight zone for real, apparently power failure had locked all lifts in emergency break positions above the stations. Lamest breakdown ever
  9. Double Thank you, speaking of massive splurges and staying off topic, Damn Disney for not investing here!
  10. I have some theme park related questions, 1)Does Disneyland's Pirate Ship run on a rail? 2) It says on Wikipedia that the uniforms for the Ride OPs at DCA's Twilight Zone cost around 1K, True?
  11. Along side the advertisements for Spongebob Flypants are new ads for Mich Doohan, with the great line, "You'll be Doohan (Doing) speeds of %#^&@km/hr!" Creative Dreamworld. and for all of you who care, im going back to the US! and i know you all care
  12. Speed Racer costed the studios $120M, and are expecting $300M return over three years. In theory they'd be after less public money AFTER Speed Racer.
  13. You're right about the other theme parks going downhill, but if a Disney park was to open on the Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast it would generate enough interest to keep itself very popular, I know we have a much much much smaller population than the Asian centers, but look how phenomenally popular there Disney brand attractions are. However I would imagine that other parks would very very quickly have to compete and expand rapidly, the lengths Knotts has to go to to keep numbers up to DL and DCA down the proverbial street, which makes Knotts Berry Farm a very enjoyable day out
  14. who doesn't enjoy watching an obese person riding a ride though, something about how they yell...
  15. Packet of salt, With Euro Disney on it, interesting as the name was changed some time ago and i went only last year, more interestingly it was at a brand new restaurant. BEET THAT CRAP COLLECTORS
  16. Ahh Indiana Jones breakdown club member! The fun part was walking back along the path by the track with the sensors activating and shooting air at us every second : ) A drive run on Superman and trapped on Tower of terror in Paris!
  17. Although handy, isn't Universal Studios expanding to quickly? Disney and Six Flags did it, and it sure turned out well for Six Flags didn't it. And i remember a little mishap called Euro Disneyland... (and im aware the park is now doing well)
  18. I guess thats the problem with the timber supports they use extensively in their permanent sets, perhaps it would be less of an inferno if they used steel? would they even notice? Apparently the actual courthouse sustained little damage.. is this true? They have a movie at the gates which shows some of the movies that used the now destroyed lots.. like the park itself is mourning the loss.
  19. Lets hope Ghost whisperer set was destroyed! : ) seriously.
  20. what i thought would be interesting is recreating one of my personal favorite rides, Expedition Everest. I did my best, and i think i failed a bit, but what kind of super Disney park would it be without Animal Kingdoms premier Attraction. I even have a yeti to inhabit part of it! : ) Happy interneting! EDIT if you can do better please post it! SCR8.BMP
  21. Thank you? I have a War Of The Worlds Attraction Also.. but no photos (Its my favorite ride in my parks[i actually put it in all the ones i make]) anywho... i want to make your Superman Escape... what does it look like on the inside?
  22. You think thats bad.... First Is TEST TRACK at Epcot Second Is Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom Third Indiana Jones from DisneylandSCR4.BMP SCR8.BMP SCR7.BMP
  23. Fire May Melt Ice, But GO HOME FIRE ice all the way! Interesting point- Statistically Fire breaks down more.. just bad luck tho
