Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
S.W24 replied to rival81's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Peak season is Nov to end of january attendence just happens to be keeping up quiet well at the moment. Most parks are seeing a increase due to the passes but it isnt really keeping the parks firm as for one they don't need to stay firm they are still doing a good job all these passes are really doing is creating a one person admission then from there on are basically being used as a way to increase in park sales. -
In celebration of our state's 150th birthday, RACQ launched 150 Must-Do's in Queensland to showcase 150 of these fabulous experiences and provide you with an opportunity to share your opinion on what you think is the best. From 18 November to 31 January, more than 120,000 people visited the website, registering 150,000 votes and leaving thousands of comments telling everyone about their favorite. Us all being major theme park enthusiast Im sure that is the main thing on this list that we are willing to find out about. Our Gold Coast theme parks probably didn't do as well as a lot of people thought. Coming in first at 21st position was Dreamworld. 39th went to Warner villages resident show on the Gold Coast Australian outback spectacular. 49th is were you can mix with the stars at Warner Bros. Movie World. Our Gold Coast water parks combined as one came 52nd. Lucky last but first major theme park in QLD Sea World came 53rd. I think a lot of people would have thought our parks to have gotten a better result than shown but this doesn't seem to be the case. We were beaten by Paronella Park coming 1st, Fraser Island coming 2nd and Australia zoo topping 3rd being a very iconic attraction now in Australia. But it was our Gold Coasts prestige Golf course who came 150th on the tally. All in all Happy Birthday Queensland and well done to all gold coast attractions and experiences who made it on the poll.

Firstly there is no looney tunes show next to the batman (in saying batman i presume you mean one of the attractions) and hasn't been for years now. Would have been before Superman Escape, and secondly there is no scoobydoo stage fright themed show in the park. So either the ad was something of majorly incorrect or you were enjoying that cartoon way to much.
-
WWF does rotation with superman staff only like you mentioned because of uniform change.
-
Both good points as alex Pointed out though was kinda were i'm getting at is i noticed all day that they didn't even rotate in different areas of one attraction like the same person did the same thing all day loading or unloading what ever they were assigned they did all day. Were as Wonderland by the sound of things follows very much the same system as Warner village does. Exceptional for Scooby is the fact from my understanding staff stay on scooby all day but they will change positions on the attraction as for other rides staff rotate to different attractions each day depending on your qualified skill whether it be a attraction presenter for batman or shrek to a rides op on major rides ect. I also find that Warner Village do a good job at making the system work. But all it merely was a observation i made when i was there.

Also soon be Part of Warner Village theme Parks Wet 'n' Wild brand will be a new Wet 'n' Wild park Due to open in 2009, Wet’n’Wild Water World in Phoenix, Arizona USA

If i were actually to say something that i really disliked about my day at Dreamworld i would give customer service a huge cross. first encounter was in the moto coaster shop all three shop attendees had there own little conversation about this weeks episode of desperate housewives i find it funny though that the part they were talking about prob wasn't something i lot of guests would have liked to hear still they talked and talked and didnt even bother to see if anyone was right until one woman said excuse me in a very disgruntled voice. My next encounter with this issue was on the claw all 3 attendees decided to have a chat after we were all head checked and ready to go they talked for about 4mins then once they were done having there little laugh and so on one went on his break and they then decided to run the ride all all customer service i was appalled, I sent a email to Guest services on wed night and got this reply this morning. Dear Nathan Thank you for your response on your days visit to Dreamworld on Wednesday. Your experiences with our staff have been sent forward to our guest relations department, and shall be looked at in the next few weeks. Kind Regards Sam like hell i will see any changes within the next month. In saying all that there was actually one chick who worked on Reptar Coaster who was really nice we had a conversation about how annoying it is when everyone is in there seats and someone shichens out and ya have to release all the harnesses and go again. One thing i also noticed was Dreamworld don't follow a rotational systems when it comes to ops staff they all stay at the same ride all day and the same position on that ride all day. Unlike village with the rotational system IMO gives for a better day at work.

Well after my trip to Dreamworld yesterday here is my current opinion. Well to start with it only cost me $45 dollars entry with a adults at kids prices discount i then added to that with a $10 early entry so i got in at 8:30. I then got a Q4U costing $10 and a copy of my credit card. total entry cost with Q4U $65 $3 cheaper than normal admission very happy with my winnings. Then after 1 hour i started using my Q4U as the park started to fill. As for Q4U i really liked the system it allowed for a more enjoyable day. As soon as i booked my place in the line i had time to ride at least 2 other rides like TOT and claw which were basically walk on then being able to get on Giant Drop (which booked) straight away, as for most attractions the Q4U entry is the exit of the attraction as for TOT you take a separate stair case which takes you under the track to the load station. As for my time in the park i was actually very happy it was clean, looked good. only thing i dislike is the moto coaster area. looks absolutely shocking. as for the day all together i was very happy.

Over the past 2 days it may have been i have had users from parks email me ask me on msn how come parkz isn't work is it working for you and i said no its not every time i try and access the site instead of the home page im given a different page (bellow). even today i still get that page. but obviously i found a way to access the site to be posting well i went to my email account and opened up a PM warning email went to the link on the page and i took me to my account page but if i press home in the site i get that same page bellow as in there is some error with the home page only on the site. Its a means of him trying to crack and we shall find out his new identity, Chances are when he see's it he will start to ask questions, most likely questions that common seance could answer for him self. now i have given away my master plan he will try and beat me with a bigger master plan. *eerie musical sting plays* *wolves howl*

Well i find this the most relevant thread to post on. I haven't been to Dreamworld in 5 years mainly because I'm a Movie World fan and nothing added to dreamworld in the past 5 years has been of much excitement for me to fork out 70 bucks. But i finally decided im not doing anything on Wed so i might go and check it out. Now basically does anyone have any tips for my day ride wise what to do first ect. places to eat so on. It would be of great help i would like to at least try and make the day in some way enjoyable without having a whinge about everything i seen that WVTP is better at or can do better.
-
Im pretty sure most people are in the same boat here as things are very quiet for all WVTP attractions and parks. There hasn't been any talk of anything new well i haven't heard anything and im pretty sure no one else has either other wise like you said cadboy everyone would be talking by now. IMO due to the 44 cut staff in dec which was on the news, The cut in park hours to reduce labour and operations i can see this year being used as a opportunity to touch up the park. Fresh coat of paint here there and everywhere landscaping to be touched up on ect. Get the park maintained back to 100% something dreamworld should work on. In saying that i have a question regarding Dreamworld which i will post in a relevant thread. Back on topic i don't see much happening this year as for rumors of a interactive park maps, Batman major refurbishments tech wise and a new attraction near the show stage. I don't see any of these rumors getting close to a drawing board.

There actually is proof of the studio tour / Movie magic special effects show on the parks premises not all the trams from the studio tour were used at Paradise country there is two still in the condition they were when they stopped using the trams. You can see them when you are on Lethal weapon near a store room which holds a lot of unsold merchandise from old attractions, souvenir books they didn't end up selling before new ones hit the shelves ect. That room is a gold mine for and Warner Bros. Movie World fan. Its near the giant Daffy's five a dime shop front sign.
-
Just like to add with those emergency ramps on the side of the building that is also access for two staff members who are already in the main building. When getting off lethal weapon take the time to look up at the side of the Scooby doo building and chances are you may see staff doing there change over. Inside the main building there are 2 main post's. One is located next to the lift on your right when you come out of the lift and the other is across the other end of the room its at the 2nd corner after the turntable. Basically these posts are perspex boxes and a attendant sits inside and monitors the rides run inside the main building. As mentioned earlier in the topic people doing POV of the ride will be seen by someone in side the boxes they will then call unloading with the car number. The attendant at unloading will then warn the rider there is to be no video or photography on the attraction and they can be asked to remove the footage and security can be called. If security is called they go through a spiel, also they bring a entrance ticket with them in the fine print if you next time read it says something about no onride videoing or photography is allowed and you can be asked to remove it as conditions of park entry.

Stunt Driver survey sent out by Movieworld Management
S.W24 replied to rival81's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That being incorrect how are they going to know if you have been to the park 9 times in the past six months unless you hold a annual pass. Some people who would have got the email do not with hold a annual pass Plus if you think about your little suggestion i can assure you we don't have our email addresses posted on our foreheads so they can see who comes in regularly or not. -
I was thinking the same thing Donjailn LA but i didn't want to be first to say something. My thoughts on the matter he just can't get enough of the forums. He sends me like one email everyday asking a different question about Movie World every time most of the time common sense could answer the question for him.

Like all WVTP surveys it isn't sent to all email addresses in there data bank most times they are only looking at a certain amount of people or responses in this case it could be 200 not saying it is but that is most likely the case. As to the main part of your question the email is sent out to some Annual pass holder email addresses, some Myfun members and some Enewsletter members. If you would like to do the survey here is the link. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=GetW...fX0qC9ljQ_3d_3d -
Well from what i had heard and read in the paper it was because of the land value, but i assume this is probably one of many reasons as to why the park is now defunct.
-
yes that is were it was.
-
The show was located at show stage which is were the Maveric show was and were What's up rock now is the venue had a huge make over and was enclosed.

Djrappa in my opinion with all the regular changes going on with the show it is slowly getting to a better standard than it was but the driving is a lot better now with more and more practice the timing in the show is also very much in place now i know a lot of people complained about the end gag not being on time properly but it is all good now and it gets the audience going. Rival81 i didn't perform in Brisbane i performed in Sydney but the Sydney and Brisbane shows were both by the same director and team though some of the actors from Sydney didn't do the Brisbane show i was one who didn't it was only main characters. I played Reverend Dr. Chasuble in Sydney then late last year When i came back home my local production company was doing the show as there end of year production so i auditioned and got the roll off Algernon. Was a lot easier the 2nd time have a very good grasp of the whole script already and the story line.

Djrappa i have to say you have a very clear point to prove in what you said and i take that into account in that you are most certainly right. I have worked in entertainment for a long time most of my life, From dance into drama and from there a performance entertainer to magician and i know that atleast if not more of my defense against this show is because i know that you are always going to be attached to your work or work by others in which you are a soul part of. In saying that as much as those who are on the opposite side of this discussion will disagree i still stand a decent point in discussion. But your input has been very much appreciated thank you.
