Not a rumour anymore. Was there today and the audio playing in the lower viewing area states they are building the enclosure so they can be on display and it is due to be completed in September. Also, was at MW this morning. According to the signage out the front of JL3D, physical requirements, height less than 90cm. So... Guests under 90cm are okay?
-
Does anyone know offhand what the certain medical conditions are that would exclude a person from JL3D? Got a small group outing happening just after the school holidays and needing a plan of attack for the group including rides they can and cannot do. JL3D is the only one I am unsure with a few of the attendees.

True but given the fact that all of their night events have WWF closed not much of a suprise.
-
So it seems MW is joining forces with the Pyjama foundation and having a PJ party themed night event ... "Experience the wonder of Warner Bros. Movie World by night including all your favourite rides* & attractions in the comfort of your PJ’s. By attending this amazing event, you’ll be helping to support children in foster care. There will be live entertainment, face painting, photo booths & prizes. Plus help us to break the world record for the biggest Pyjama Party of all time!" Would be nice to see them do this sort of thing more frequently in conjunction with other foundations to raise money as well as giving the public other nights to attend instead of just 2 periods during the year.

Finally got a ride where I could feel the rush of wind, brings that little extra to it. New pb: 112,185. On a quick side note, as walking through the DC store noticed the JL figures... Wonderwoman, Cyborg and Flash all $39.95... Aquaman $37.95...- 778 replies

Movie World new ride: JUSTICE LEAGUE: Alien Invasion 3D.

Tried 4 times last Saturday to go on this with relatives who paid for the day. 30 minute waits each time which was great considering the inside switchbacks were full. Shame that after 10 - 15 minutes of waiting it broke down all 4 times and they emptied the switchbacks and got people to line up outside while they fixed the issue. It was my description of this ride that got them interested in going to MW since they are not big thrill seekers. A bit annoying to be let down in the end.- 778 replies

Dreamworld's Festival of Happiness
MaxxTheMonster replied to jjuttp's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think this ride is wonderfully themed as is the whole area. Dreamworld has certainly pulled out all the stops for this new area. Little confused with the idea of themeing the carriages as done considering they will be looping around. They don't seem like the sort of thing you would see flying around. Thinking a trip to DW is definately in order in the new year. -
Movie World new ride: JUSTICE LEAGUE: Alien Invasion 3D.
MaxxTheMonster replied to mba2012's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Had two guests (early 20's males) go to MW yesterday and I made sure I told them to go into the Hall of Justice building to get on the ride. Got feedback this morning that they loved it and due to the average weather spent a lot of their day re-riding and trying to beat their old scores. Also noticed Friday evening driving home from Brisbane that there is a banner that spans the Southbound lanes going past Garden City shopping centre advertising the ride as "All New Justice League Ride 3D". Does this mean the so called "technical period" is over?- 778 replies

If he entered the parking space at 'the speed he did', how did you have time to 'move closer to the car so as not to be hit' ? Wife called out as she saw him start to swing as if he would be pulling in to space. What type of car model do you have, and what type of pram? 2011 Kia Rio, ZuZu Genesis And what type of car was this guy driving? Telstar.
-
Meanwhile they have just re-released the buy 3 get 1 free promotion on VIP passes ($79.95 each) and it now includes a free entry to White Christmas... Thought that was a Gold only thing.

So in other words go back to the time before VIP passes?

Agree completely with the starting out rosy issue as this is present in every line of work and the quality of guest the park seems to attract with the continuous cheapening of tickets and passes. This is something that has been mentioned a few times before by others on the forums. Main concerns were, yes in uniform so realistically is representing the park. Suited up so obviously admin / managerial role. The fact he actually bumped the pram with his car as he swerved into the car space, I had too move closer to the car so not to be hit, and the speed he did the manouevre when the pram was clearly visible near the back of the car but well within the bay we were parked in was my main issue. Had my son been in the pram at the time there would have been much more of a conversation involved.

Myself and my parents have done lighting displays for the last 9 years or so... I know how much work goes into it for a family to decorate their home and time as well. Starting early for these people are definately a must as they have to fit it around their working week. MW meanwhile has technicians that do the work, get paid to do the work, and so do the work more efficiently. I am also sure there is more than just 4 or 5 technicians to do this work so a larger amount of work will get done much faster. Comparing the two is completely unfair on everyone involved in either process. What I am saying is that given the facade took no more than 5 days to put up I don't, IN MY OPINION (so no one can say I didn't say it) understand why it was done so early. I'm not saying leave it right to the last minute... Given the first night is not until Friday 14 December there is more than a month until that date and assuming a 5 day week for the technicians and that the work is done outside the park operating hours not to disturb the park by day. Light bulbs could be checked months in advance on the buildings which is one of the more lengthy processes involved in Christmas light displays. One year we had more than one million fairy and led lights used in a display. 3 of us spent most weekends from the beginning of August testing each strand and replacing thousands of individual bulbs. Although we started putting up the display in mid November, we did not put up any definitive Christmas related items until required for judging, usually the last week of November. Putting out the fake snow, wreaths and garlands could have been left up to the last minute as they are Christmas specific items. The lights are up all year round and if connecting, programming, testing and adjusting are required for these, this process can be done for months in advance. As far as TV spots are concerned, time and again old footage has been used, even the image in this thread only needed the float, the characters in season relevant costume and the image of children looking out a snow speckled window could be taken anywhere with a green screen. *Everything mentioned above is based from my opinion and my life experiences. I understand that some may not share my view as it is presented above as it is counterproductive to their point of view which they are entitled to... Hmm might make that my new signature... -

Approximately half the targets were not working today. 2 screens (Superman and Flash) did not display any hits (puff of smoke). As a result, most people were registering 15k - 25k scores. I received lowest to date of 62,354. Portable speaker box outside is back again. A lot of people still looking and then walking away or attempting to walk in the exit.- 778 replies

While getting little Mr out of the car at MW this morning had a theme park employee (suited up) swerve into the space next to us on the side I was getting him out of the car bumping his pram and narrowly missing myself and my vehicle. Looked at the driver and commented to him about watching what was going on and being more careful with children around. He glared at me as he locked his car, shrugged and walked off. Is this the standard of person that we are putting our and our childrens safety in the hands of when we go on the rides and attractions these days?

Christmas decorations are all in place up and down Main Street. While it looks fantastic, we are only at November 6. Sure not as bad as the shops that had Christmas decorations up while they were still heading into Halloween but seriously, if it only takes 5 days max to turn around from Fright Nights to White Christmas why did it have to be done so soon? -
JTTCOTE is still listed on the restrictions page... C'mon MW... Get your webmasters to fix it... They are only how far behind now?

In a conference call with investors, Iger said Disney planned to revive the Star Wars franchise and release a seventh feature film in the series in 2015, with new films coming every two or three years thereafter. Lucas, 68, would be a consultant on the film projects. Iger said Disney had acquired as part of the deal a detailed treatment for the next three Star Wars films. Jay Rasulo, Disney's chief financial officer, said calculations in agreeing to purchase Lucasfilm were driven almost entirely by the potential of the Star Wars series, which already had a place in the Disney theme parks. For the love of all things sacred in this universe, why?

Movie World new ride: JUSTICE LEAGUE: Alien Invasion 3D.
MaxxTheMonster replied to mba2012's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The issue of signage is something that has been taken to MW directly by a few people so far and their response is basically, "As it is in the technical period we do not want too many people on it. The signage is also still being created." From my dealings with them and the comments posted on this thread, I would bet my money on the fact it is a combination of the "technical" stage and the fact they have 5 different names for the ride and can't decide which one to sign it as.- 778 replies

No I have noticed you seem to get random points during the ride including during the final screen. Approaching the screen is also where the photo is taken. I posed for it with both guns. Think about it, the only time everyone is really facing forward to look at the screen for the photo.- 778 replies

It is all about demand and availability. Hotels in Brisbane raise their price by $100 a night for special events such as concerts, sporting events and so on and the price also goes up as Brisbane fills.
