  1. I would really love to attend an American park for Halloween as well but that is definately a long ways off. Given the information others have posted I dare say I would spend my night walking back and forth up main street. Not really one for the scares and the rides have been done at night before. My main concern is the number of people. Again, I know it is a long time ago and as you say they have come a long way since then, but getting from one end of the street to the other was nigh impossible for the sheer number of people. I have never seen the park so full before or since in the almost 13 years I have had an annual pass. Does anyone know how many they cap the nights at these days? Staff the year we went, if memory is correct, stated around 10,000. I know Boxing day and other special days can be busier, but remembering not all rides open and shows not operating lead to a lot of people in the street.
  2. I know my view is very tarnished by going the very first year and how poorly executed it was (being only one night run and telling people not to dress up for safety reasons), but these nights just keep looking better and better. We are doing White Christmas this year for our little man, think it will be a few years yet until he is ready to face a Fright Night.
  3. Noticed that there is no signage for the new Justice League ride and as I was sitting outside a lot of people looking at and taking photos of the building but not going in. Even in the queue line people were commenting they thought it was just a walkthrough thing and not a ride. Meanwhile this is still displayed outside the new "DC" area (attached image of signage). Will we be seeing any updates done soon? Was able to walk on the the Justice League ride while Superman and Green Lantern had 30 minute wait times. Response: Thanks for the message, we are definitely aware of the old signage and have new artwork on the way. Lucky for you, you were able to get right on the new attraction Being a customer service rep I know they just used a combination of the can-can, phrase substitution, and staging techniques, so I replied: While yes it was great to get straight on, as I work in the hospitality industry where we frequently get guests attending the park, my main concern is the fact that many members of the public are missing out on the opportunity to experience the attraction due to the non existence of signage. There were also a few coming off disappointed as it is marketed on your website as a thrill ride...
  4. I am sorry you feel that way Bmull19. I can certainly see where others are coming from in this topic as it is obviously something they are passionate about and I would definately feel the same way should people make similar comments in regards to things important to me. I guess this is a situation that has been completely blown up due to miscommunication and for the misunderstanding I certainly apologise. I will attempt to be clearer in the future in regards to my postings.
  5. I certainly can see why you are upset. I hate it when simple implied things that I believe people should be able to figure out confuse me as well. Perhaps it would be easier for everyone involved if next time I break my comments and posts down into a more simplified version so that everyone can understand including posting "I believe" or "In my opinion" or "From my past experiences". Would this be something that would be beneficial to you? What are your thoughts on this plan of attack?
  6. I don't think that it should be done now, but had they had it in mind when originally fitting it out, you could rotate the switchback area 90 degrees to the left then flip it you would run along that wall between the queue and the shop. Either way it does not fuss me at this point as we have a pram with us so only one of us ride at a time so lockers are not an issue (gotta say I love the single rider effect again though).
  7. I'm visualizing something similar to the lockers for the WipeOut as something that could be posibble with a small change to the switchbacks on Superman.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree with you aussie. MW need to overhaul the breakdown of their rides as mentioned previously.
  9. While it is great that they have finally got this going, it doesn't explain people taking large backpacks through that had to be left on the platformas they were too big to be placed in the boxes. I can understand hats, sunnies, glasses, and ponchos as these are things that could be necessary in the queue line due to weather but backpacks, wallets, and the like should still be getting placed in the lockers.
  10. No signage is not fixed. It currently states: GREAT RIDE Batman Adventure Batwing Spaceshot. There is no signage whatsoever informing of the JL ride. I actually had someone in front of me in the "lego" room who when they saw the carriages commented, "I thought it was a walkthrough" and also someone when picking up the glasses state "Oh my God, it's 3d, this should be cool." Guessing these people have not seen the tv spots. Other comments though outside were nothing but praise for the ride and experience before dragging others on that originally didn't go on it.
  11. The staff today were allowing people to take hats, sunnies, bags and so on intot he queue line with them and then were being stored at the load/unload platform. The lockers were working correctly as many others were placing their items in them during the day. Is this a move from MW to cut back on complaints over "forcing" people to use the lockers? Or just one staff member not doing their job correctly? Also noticed they have now put up a temporary barrier near the JL exit to block of the chained area people were jumping. Hopefully the move of entrance point happens soon as it does look a little tacky.
  12. As entering park today staff were asking people if they were likely to go on the ride as they were handing out the wrist bracelets for the photos. Issue with this is that when loading onto the ride the attendant is not informing people to scan the bracelet so no one is being able to use this system properly. Went on the ride twice, both walk on. All animatronics were moving around instead of static. Screens seemed a lot better and synced with the carriages going past. Scores for today: ride 1 = 89,720... ride 2 = 103,395 both were with 2 other people in the carriage. There is no signage stating technical rehearsals, however, I noticed that a fair few people were walking up to the area outside the ride and stating, thats an amazing building or it looks just like the one from the cartoon and then walking away... I looked around and noted that although the Batwing and Green Lantern have huge signage, there is none for the JL ride. Went to guest services and queried if they would be putting in some sort of signage as being walk on twice during the day while no shows are running while SE and GL have 30 min wait times was weird. Was informed that it is still in its technical period but it is definately something they will have to look at as they had received a few enquiries today about the location of the new ride.
  13. No... Where am I discounting everyone's opinion? Hydrocoaster... Not hydroslide... It incorporates magnets to counteract the normal forces of a slide therefore it cannot be classified as a slide. Aqualoop meanwhile, sit and slide down on water... Does fiberglass walls sound better? The variety in coasters comes from different types, ie suspended, stand up, launched and so on. A slide is a slide...
  14. Did I say all coasters are the same? No, I agreed with the "whats the point of spending all that time just sitting there on Arkham Asylum slowly going up the lift hill, when all you do is just roll downhill and through a few loops for a minute or so, only to go out the exit ramp and ride it all again." comment you made. Of course Superman and Green Lantern have a different feel. I like Superman for the pre coaster section. But other coasters, as you mentioned, are a long lift hill and then rolling downhill with a few inversions. How are slides not all the same? Go downhill in a tube on water until you hit a pool...
  15. That is my thought on coasters which is why I am not a fan of them either. and joz, like this is the most pointless comment ever made in a topic... I just personally don't see the big excitement about the fact they have put in another slide... Ultimately they are all the same. Sit in a tube and look at the plastic walls until you get to the splashdown.
  16. To be honest, there are only two reasons I go to WnW... The wave pool and calypso beach. I do not see the point of walking up so many flights of stairs, standing in a queue, normally wet and in the wind just to spend 30 - 60 seconds sliding back down to do it all again.
  17. I found that you can ideally hit 5 targets before the first lights up again so just get in a pattern and good to go. That's how I got 73,000. (That and I think a couple of targets did not go out and I scored some bonus points for just hitting it over and over.) Are the lasers staying on for the final "showdown" with Starro yet?
  18. The fire that destroyed the top I guess he is referring to. They left that for way too long with the exposed and warped beams.
  19. But senior management do dictate the way things get done. Poor management leads to poor work being done by the employees. Let us say a junior staff member finds a more efficient way of doing things than the current policy. They present it to the senior management who tell them to do it the way the policy states and not their way. Poor management has prevented increased productivity which would directly affect revenue and the overall customer experience. This in turn would affect how successful the business could become and repeat customers.
  20. So we are now saying that it is not that managers rush staff that this happens but that the staff have no customer service skills? That is much better...
  21. At least MW makes things correctly and to order. I bought a quarter pounder a couple of weeks back and they put a lamb patty on it that was half cooked. Meanwhile everytime I go to MW I ask for no salsa on fully loaded nachos and it is right everytime. Maccas can't get a staple of the restaurant correct but MW can get a special order right... That isn't presumptuous, that's fact.
  22. So long as the food is worth the price who cares? I pay the same now for a nachos at MW ($16.95) that I did 7 years ago despite the size difference (a fair bit smaller), but they still taste great and fill me up everytime. So they are worth it.
  23. Just got off the ride... Themeing is amazing, little disappointed with the "manequin" look of the people on the street scene, but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it. First time score = 73,395. Lasers turned off before the final scene. Also spoke to a supervisor and queried the bracelet scanner and was told that it was for a new on ride photo system they will be putting in place on various rides. It will log the photo id with the bracelet making it easier to view and purchase your photos. There is currently no plan to put in a way of storing your score or having a leaderboard for the day of scores, not even a score of the day. A little off topic but from the same supervisor, they will be moving the entrance for GL back to the doorframe leading into the area with the Green Lantern Corps in an effort to remove the current issue of people jumping the chain near this area.
  24. I'm with bert. And I know most people here are mad happy about this ride being here, hell, they could have made it a Willy Wonka ride where you have to shoot the oompa loompas and I would have loved it for the fact it is a dark ride to replace the 2 we lost, and personally, not another rollercoaster.
