I asked Dreamworld about the delay of the opening of Wipeout and they said they are doing all they can to have it back by School Holidays, unfortunately the reason that they've had to change it to say July is because they are unsure at the stage of the exact date they can promise to have it back up and running with the look and feel they wish to have, and they said to ask again later for an update. Screamworld is on July 4th so hopefully they have it up and running for that.

During late 2010 and early 2011 when the bent arm's motor had a problem they did have to put it in program 5 which had no flips apart from the very end slow upside down part until Vekoma made a new one and shipped it over, then they put it back in program 3.

Every time I have gone on it, it does the 3 upside down parts, then if it is on program 1-3 it does another when it flips after the 3 upside down parts if that makes sense, then it flips for 30 seconds without going all the way over then the slow upside down part and the fast backflip and if lucky it will lock upside down at the very end for 15 seconds until it parks. It all depends on the program it is in and the weight.

I've heard from a few people that the computer system for the ride is getting updated and it will come with new cycles built into the ride. I also remember someone commenting on here about sage automation being tasked to deliver a new automation for the ride.

Bugger! I hope it is open by the 7th of July because I only booked the flights last night to come up to the Gold Coast for a week. They must be behind schedule or a major part or component of the ride has a delay for delivery or something.

Keep an eye out for Fluffy, if she disappears from the bush next to reef diver in the coming weeks, you know she is coming back haha.

Noticed these recent pictures on Dreamworlds facebook page, the wave is looking great! There are 3 sharks also painted on the wave, not to sure if i'm liking that to much.

I remember back in 2011 during the month of April, the day I went the night before they put in a new motor from vekoma and they put the ride back in to its opening day cycle, however because of its age they didn't want to take any risks and they played with the program software to tweak it so it wasn't as rough, that's what the engineer was telling me anyway. I have heard rumours from several people that Wipeout will come with new programs built into the computer as Wipeout will come with new software, hydraulics and motors etc so they can ramp it up even better than back in 1993. But until June 30 we won't know. But I just think it's great how Dreamworld is going the extra mile with Wipeout keeping it alive and giving it a lot of love and attention.

I live in NSW so I can't. I just thought you guys if your at Dreamworld if it's alright to take photos once a week or two so not only me but others can see the progress.

This is the latest one I have seen, if you zoom in you can see them painting the wave a new blue colour.

Yep they were really good, operators did it if they could be bothered. They've been disasembelling the wodden jetty thing that they built back in 2007 when they got rid of the water to cover the water jets so they may be coming back, we will find out soon enough!

Oh for goodness sake, Wipeout is just getting a facelift. New paint job, new parts, new motors and hydraulics, new seats and the water is returning. It will be open back up in the same spot with a new refreshed look. Thats all there is to it.

Wow, definately some serious work going on there with Wipeout, even noticed the surfboards are gone as well! I hope they give that wave a well deserved paint job or just build another it looks terrible.

If you could take a few pictures of the Wipeout at it's current state with the rebuild going on, that would be great!

We'll just have to wait and see Either way, I think this refurbishment and rebuild is going to be good either way.

I've heard a lot of rumours from several people and apparently the Wipeout will keep the same structure, however the ride will recieve new motors, new hydraulics, new seats, new paint job, new harnesses, new ride programs and the water is coming back. About time the ride gets some love as it was looking pretty bad, good too see Dreamworld spending some good money on Wipeout to make it good again like the old days Can't wait too see the final product.

Dreamworld use a station called C FM. But they remove the adds and replace them with there adds like "Want to spend another day at Dremworld? Get a $10 pass from the upgrade booth, See them for more details" etc. But they do it before the park operates or something. I think C FM is 109.9.

It has the longest ride time, You dont spend a redicuosly amount of time in the lines, it fits 40 people, and gives you the best adrenilen and its just more fun than the other rides.

if theres something else they need to update, its the wipeout, bring back the water and fluffy!! (The Shark) oh and those good old water jets that spray water at you while you hang upside down!

So guys at Dreamworld i rekon wipeout is the best but it does tends it breakdown a lot. And spew every were. lol. Id like 2 no what u think of the wipeout and is it better than the claw? I think so and i reckon its tjhe best ride in the World. So what do u think?
