  1. I was really surprised how good the Thunderbolt was for its small size. The air-time was great, loved the vertical lift hill and I wouldn't personally describe it as rough. It's a little jerky in spaces but fairly smooth. I think it would be a good roller-coaster to add to any park needing a small footprint ride.
  2. People volunteer their time to add content to this site in the form of news, information, trip reports, photography, ect. This site then makes money off the ad revenue generated by the traffic this content attracts. We are clearly being exploited.
  3. I just received one of these The Dreamworld Times today, I live in Sydney. Pretty surprising, anyone else get one?

  5. I would love to see Movie World give the Wild West zone and the Kids area a revamp. Give the kids area a totally new theme consistent with the new attraction in the old LTRR building, Not too fussed on what that theme is but something more than just "WB Kids Zone". The Wild West zone needs some sort of family flat ride, maybe something with water effects to compliment WWF. Some sort of maze or haunted house type attraction could work themed to the Wild West. On top of that it would be great to see them expand the zone to include a wooden roller-coaster, but that could be difficult with the noise restrictions?
  6. Ok, just to clear things up since it's driving me crazy since I've studied economics for a few years now. Inflation is the sustained increase in the general price level over time. In Australia the Australian Bureau of Statistics measures it using the Consumer Price Index. The CPI basically just compares a basket of goods today to the SAME basket of goods in the year 2000. Comparing different items even if somewhat similar doesn't give a accurate idea of inflation. The CPI doesn't include consumer electronics as such but does include communication (which includes mobile phones). Inflation in communication tends to be well below the headline inflation rate therefore the price of communication has fallen relative to the prices of other goods. Inflation in land prices tends to be slightly above that of the overall headline inflation rate when the economy is growing, and WELL below the the headline inflation rate during periods of slow / negative growth. In the long run it should just follow the headline inflation rate.
  7. "Village Roadshow is to expand into China through a deal with property group Guangzhou R&F Properties to build a $550 million theme park based on the Gold Coast's Sea World." http://finance.ninemsn.com.au/newsbusiness/aap/8549591/village-expands-into-china-with-sea-world I guess we knew something like this was coming. I'm still pretty surprised at the speed Village is expanding their theme parks. It's good to see that they are expanding and I'm hopeful that they will build another Park in Australia. I just wonder where all this money is coming from and if it's all debt funded? I'm also pretty interested to see what plans Ardent has for expanding its theme parks. If any?
