  1. ok so looking at extended fore3casts, Friday COULD be pretty average weather. we fly into GC airport at 1030 on thte thursday and are hiring a car, could probably be at MW by 1130. THat gies us 5.5 hours in the park, do you guys think this will be enough to get SE, AA, GL, JL, SDSC and WW done as well as doing SE and AA one or two more times as well as maybe SDSC another. Might also see Stunt Driver depending on time
  2. So I'm heading back to Movie World for a Day next Friday and am really looking forward to it! I'm from Melbourne and only get to go once every two years or so. I'm interested to see how i enjoy my former favourite park in the world (has been over taken by DInseyland) after going to Disneyland. I actually using this trip to Movie World as a kind of filler before i go back to Disneyland to do a proper 5 day trip at the parks opposed to the 2 days i did last time. Might head over to Sea World as well to check out storm coaster and let the Mrs. look at the penguins for 5 hours Anyone got any advice on how busy MW will be on the Friday? Also, now that Gotham City Cafe is closed, where is the best place to get some grub?
  3. You guys are 'ROBIN' me of my puns!
  4. you are the 'BANE' of my existance
  5. Hahaha always quite the 'JOKER' you are
  6. I contacted Movie World via Facebook to ask when it would be re-opening and they said there is no cofirmed date so im guessing it could be quite a while.
  7. Yeah a lot of people go to Disneyland for the Monte Cristo sandwich or the fried chicken from the plaza inn
  8. Hahaha thanks gazza. Sorry for the typos Also is the food good quality?
  9. So what is the new menu like at Rick's? Only pizza, pasta and salad or do there other things like fries and nuggets.
  10. I think if you've only been to Australian Theme Parks you find that airtime and forces make a good ride. I thought the same before going to Disneyland. Now I think the excellent theming, story and special FX make a good ride. If you can get some thrills in there it's a bonus. My favourite ride in the world is Indiana Jones at Disneyland the perfect blend of the above. I still really enjoy roller coasters, but I think rides Iike Indiana jones and the haunted mansion are far better experiences.
  11. Anyone know when it will be reopening?
  12. Can anyone shed light on Movie Worlds wet weather policy? How heavy does rain have to be for particular rides to close? How long after rain do particular rides reopen?
  13. If the lack of theming is indeed true it is quiite dissapointing. Ive been satisfied with the theming of Movie world with their last few attractions. Green lantern was fine and Arkham Asylum was pretty good. Im not saying that they are Disney standard (maybe California Adventure v 1.0 ) I really would have prefered they just bring back the police academy show. That was really good
  14. The vastness and emptynees of WDW doesn't appeal to me. I like the charm and the intimacy of Disneyland and also its rich history. Also, Tokyo has a Cinderellas Castle, better theming and more original attractions than WDW has in my opinion. Plus it has DisneySea. I will definately get there at somepoint (plan to go there next time i go to New York) but its not high on my list at this time
  15. Can confirm that Feb 20th is indeed the start date. messaged MW on Facebook and they gave me this date as the opening
  16. Glad you enjoyed Disneyland so much. Nothing compares to a disney park in my view. I can't wait for my trip back there next ear. Then its off to Tokyo and then Paris, not in a rush for Disney World
  17. i remember back on the late 90's/early 00's I went to dream world and th mine carts were running and the tower of terror went forward and the cyclone was new and the ride queue was inside. Those were the good days. They need to do something with the mine cart ride. I kind of think of it as Dream Worlds Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road. I dont know why Australian theme parks dont think these kind of rides are worth investing in. Disney builds rides like this all over the world and they are extremely popular. i still think that Disney should buy Dream world and convert it into a Disneyland. You already have a river with a boat, you already have train tracks, you already have a frontier land, you have tonnes of land around to expand into and you can take all the themepark business in the goldcoast for yourself. nock down all the buildings and build a castle and a main street put mickey mouse in there and say hello to at least 5 million visitors a year.
  18. Ohhhhh you have to do yourself a favour and get out to Disneyland. The theming is beyond anything else I have experienced. And it's so clean and not to mention the beauty of the gardens
  19. Yeah pretty much a joke, Should be 1. Tokyo DisneySea 2. Tokyo Disneyland 3. Disneyland 4. Islands of Adventure (only for Harry Potter) 5. Magic Kingdom 6. Magic Mountain 7. California Adventure 8. Epcot/Hollywood Studios 9. Disneyland Paris 10. Movie World (only because I love it)
  20. I'm going back in April 2015 and will be going for 4 days. From what I've been told by people on MiceChat it's the perfect amount of time to see everything. Will be in park Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday. If you travel right at the end of peak season (mid August) all the shows will still run mid week
  21. Will be just me and the mrs so sounds like it will be all good
  22. Yeah I did everything I wanted to do at California Adventure in like 6 hours so 4-5 at sea world should be enough
  23. Nah my flight gets on at like 930
  24. So no real answers? It will be a week day outside school holidays so should be reasonably quiet. Just wanna do a couple of rides see a show and look at some penguins.
  25. Hi all. Last time I went to sea works I think I only spent 3 or 4 hours there. Going to fly into Gold Coast on March 20 (Thursday). Was thinking of going to sea world the day I fly in say at 12. Do you think this is enough time to see a few animals ride jet rescue and storm coaster and see the dolphin show?
