  1. @Boyden Hingston-Muir maybe a DC kids themed area. * just joking anything but DC would be fine!
  2. That’s exactly what LTRR or BT was. I went on them as a 4 year old and loved them. Obviously major capitol spending won’t happen again until 2021/2020 after everything at SW is finished. By that stage the mini driving school will be 10 years old and instead of updating the cars and what not could be removed. Along with some flat rides in a land with a fresh IP.
  3. With the recent talk in the other threads about movie worlds family/ kids offerings I thought it warranted its own thread. In my opinion once Atlantis has finished and WNW gets some love. The next major capital spend should be back at MW with a nice dark ride to replace the void from LTRR and replacement and updating all the existing flat rides in the current LT area.
  4. For people not in WA this slide complex is in northern which is around the heart of the wheat fields. So this won’t be insanely busy during the holiday periods.
  5. Universal has announced their forth gate, Universal’s Epic Universe being the most immersive and greatest theme park ever built. However they have not announced any themes or rides coming to the park.
  6. Just a little near maps update: Ragging Waters: Luna park Sydney
  7. So the first of the 2020 ride announcements have kicked of with Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s new multi launch Intamin coaster. It is good to see the return of Intamin rides in the states with 2 at Universal and more rumoured. Also forgot last weeks Candymonium at Hershey Park the B&M hyper coaster.
  8. @Mark Shaw as in 50% meaning one flat ride is coming this year?
  9. Total project cost for Abyss was 12 million, 7 million for Kraken and 7.5 for Goliath. I was with @iwerks when a ride operator tried to tell me Goliath costed $17.5 million and I know for a fact that ain’t true.
  10. @elemist the Rampage is a Moser Maverick which was similar to the Wipeout. Expect the later had 2 rows one on each side, Rampage has 2 rows facing forwards and overall the Wipout has a bigger capacity. The vortex is a Huss Top Spin which the arms cannot move independently only together.
  11. Little Update on some near maps imagery. WNW GC Update 26 MAY 19 MW Update 26 MAY 2019 Aussie World Updated 09 MAY 2019 SW overview Update 07 MAY 2019 Bottom of Alantis Upper Alantis When more updates occur especially at SW over the next 2 years I will post them. Its seems to be ever 3 months at SW.
  12. So I figured its been a while since anyone has posted any near map images. So here is most of the parks in Australia. If I missed any just let me know. Jamberoo Action Park - 29 Mar 19 Adventure Park Geelong -25 FEB 19 Aussie World - 24 MAR 19 Movie World - 16 JAN 19 Wet N Wild GC - 16 JAN 19 Sea World - 24 NOV 18 Star flyer close up LPM - 07 APR 19 The Maze Outback Splash - 23 FEB 19 Gumbya World - 02 APR 19 LPS - 04 MAR 19 Dreamworld - 06 NOV 18 Lazy River construction Sky Voyager Fun Fields - 07 MAR 19 Adventure World - 24 FEB 19 WNW Sydney - 07 APR 19
  13. Madagascar was always gonna be the first to go. The ride was plagued with problems and takes up so much space. Plus their is more land behind the main show building for expansion. However I don’t see Far Far away leaving anytime soon. The castle has become an icon for the park.
  14. Resort World SENTOSA just announced that it will be expanding the resort with a 4.5 billion dollar expansion. Most importantly USS will be expanding in size to include A minion park feature Discpicable Me Minion Mayhem, and a Super Nintendo World. https://www.rwsentosa.com/-/media/project/non-gaming/rwsentosa/press-release/pdf/en/2019/20190403-press-release--rws-embarks-on-mega-expansion-plans.pdf
  15. @Mark Shaw said it awhile ago. Sure their are exepctions but that is their rough time span.
  16. The ride was 30 years old when closed! Rides only come with a 30 year shelf life. Give or take. It’s good to see the park remove the ride then to try and keep it going and the ride becoming not safe.
  17. If MI4 ends up being another proslide (which these markers look to indicate) I think it’s very likely a proslide that will utilise the Kraken conveyer raft and come out next to Kraken on that flat bit and the markers are for piping leading to the pump room. if it is another proslide my bets are on a bowl 60 tho I would love to see a bowl and wall hybrid.
  18. @AlexB My point, they announced an exiting new attraction to replace VR coming this year but it has since gone quiet.
  19. So a Big attraction coming in 2020 to go along with the promised massive attraction coming in 2019. That sounds very promising for the park.
  20. That Wave Swinger looks Identical to March's I would say it most likely is their's.
  21. Yes this event has replaced the normal fright nights in October. The last 3 out of 4 fright nights have had rain during the event or colder weather. When in Perth we can still get some 40 degree days well into March. So the weather is a legit reason. They do remain very confident that the event will be a massive success. They are heavily pushing adds on local TV, plus Facebook. With this year also expanded across 2 weekends and with their first maze. They have moved away from the pumpkins, and Halloween stuff and more into the doomsday type theme. But we will see how it goes and it’s either gonna work or not.
  22. Yes the castle area is 100% being used for fright nights and has been flattened and cleaned up. New giant pink return pass centre. This is only tempuary I believe as it has a hire company’s logo on the back. What could probs be the entrance or exit.
  23. As much as I love KMG rides they don’t belong in theme parks. Yes I know KMG makes park model rides but they still look so much like a carnival and not a theme park ride.
  24. They should do what Adventure World do In very quiet/off peek days. The less popular rides AW puts on rotational schedules IE 1 hour on 1 hour off. For the whole day.
  25. @Slick does not mean a construction update, he means an update from Dreamworld themselves saying. The opening has been delayed but where aiming for this date. The park has just gone quiet about the ride.
