  1. So I decided to make a little rough concept art for an expansion and remodel of WNW. With Mach 5 gone and the unsure outcome with Black hole. I thought if they decided to gut the entire H2O zone and start from scratch this would be a cool idea. This is a rough concept so excuse the quality.

    This plan has the follow:

    • New food outlets around the area along with lockers, toilets etc...
    • Water slide Wheel (White Water West)
    • A Mammoth style water coaster (ProSlide)
    • Rain-fortress and Splash pad area (White Water West)
    • Tower 1: (Proslide)
      • Tornado 60 enclosed
      • Tornado Wall 60
      • Tantrum Alley
    • Tower 2: (Proslide)
      • Bowl Alley
      • Family raft slide
      • UFO Raft slide
    • Tower 3: (Polin)
      • 2 Family single raft slides
      • Corba Waterslide

I feel like this plan gives the park some good solid waterslides for thrill seekers and family. Along with some gimmicky stuff and world class stuff. I doubt we would ever see investment off this size at WNW. But we can dream. (Also the Poling slide complex comes from the original concept art from Outback Splash)

For those that aren't getting it, someone claimed to have taken a photo of Vortex with a long lense, only to be proven to be lying, especially when someone's hand was in the photo.

I thought you were talking about the hand in the picture from the TRRR accident that the media keep showing.

Honestly wish the media actually looks at the pics they share. They shouldn’t be sharing a picture which shows part of the body.

How has someone managed to consciously buy land for an amusement park on top of a high pressure gas line? Nevertheless, will be pretty funny to see how they build the park around that going forward.

Well keep in mind when the park was originally owned and built it was never intended to be what it is today. The family that own it now brought the park planning to expanded the current park. Easier to expand a park with a brand then to build from the ground.

Both original expansion plans done by Proslide might give you a better idea of the plans. you can see the easement line in both.

  4. @Gazza I was thinking it looked set up ready for 2 Aqua loop type slides on each side not raft. But who knows?

Also more interestingly here is the pool thats been talked about. This Pool area gives away massive "Bali" type feels and this entire project looks like its going to change the park for the better. Along with the new entrance, carpark and staff buildings. Gonna be pretty decent park after this. Also see site plan for locations:

It is also advertised as a family coaster so guess it can't go that high

Its per the press release it’s going to be 30 metres. Very similar in height to Storm.

You can also build very tall and big family coasters. Height doesn’t always mean thrill. EG you can have a very tall mine train terrain coaster that’s not thrilling.

I know this is a stupid question but if the TRRR tragedy never happened do you think TRRR, tower of terror, wipeout and log ride still be operating today?

TRRR yes, log ride yes. Wipeout and TOT no. Log ride supposedly closed as the cages added apparently did major damage to the boats and concrete channels. Wipeout and TOT Literally couldn’t run anymore. So they would have closed.

Didnt the ride close before covid? If they are waiting for chain id say they found something that wasnt planned for, given it was 6 months ago. If you had annual manintenance planned for a chain replacement, youd think they would have it before you went down for maintenance. Not be ordering/waiting for it now.

It was down before the closure as it was getting a full repaint. Which wasn’t finished when Covid struck. So when the park reopened they had to finish paint and it’s possible the chain was found to need replacing after the closure started.

Could they finally be removing Vikings Revenge at Sea World?

Vikings Revenge was announced as being closed to make way for a world class attraction that would rival anything on the coast coming in 2019. Which has been canceled. However it was announced already, these 2 rides closures are drone rides that aren’t already announced as closed.

  9. To compete with VRTP in the short to mid term IE 3-5 years they need to build the following to remain competitive in my opinion on top of the current roller coaster;

Another major coaster after this one (thrilling)

One major flat ride (Thrilling and high quality)

A major family ride (ideally water based)

A high quality family/ kids based dark ride

Ive always put a positive spin on Dreamworld's announcements or at least tried, but the removal of BRC and Buzzsaw sooner than later is extremely disappointing. I feel Dreamworld is again relying on a singular attraction to turn a positive cash flow as they did with SV.

They didn't say Buzzsaw will be closed, They said its time is limited and is an extremely unpopular attraction. They also said a pipeline of new rides and attractions are being developed.

  11. @Brad2912 the ABC kids world project and Master plan of dreamworld has been put on hold. They want to see what attendance is like and how Covid plays out before spending more Capex. Considering they are focusing on finishing WWW, the new coaster and Side winder update projects. (I also believe Buzzsaw is also closed to help construction of the new coaster to happen along with waiting on said part.)

I have no doubt in mind the reason for closing BRC ride was to begin initial works for the ABC kids world redevelopment which includes a new ride. However as there are a lot of variables in the air at the moment they don't wanna announce when this project will happen as it's not a priority. Same with the Flow Rider, with all that land free it seems like the park is gearing up for its next attraction to be built in the far end of Ocean Parade.

As somebody who listened to the conference call; when asked about whether they needed more rides to be built quickly to make up for the ride removals. John Responded saying "There is an entire pipeline of new attractions and rides planned for the next phase after the new Coaster."
