  1. Another ride is now in place and the roof has been installed over the coaster station (photos: TPSN)
  2. I've got a couple of friends who have worked at DW operating the rides. They said that they did enjoy it, and most of the staff were good to work with, and when they got to see kids be really happy before/after the ride it made their job pleasing. They said that the morning was always better on a ride because you weren't bored, but a fews hours in it could start to drag, depending on how busy it was. But because there are these pressure sensors on the ride control panel, if they took there hand off, or their was less pressure then the ride would stop (I know this was the case for some of the smaller flat rides, don't know about the thrill rides). They said that they often would get the guests who would complain about things because their child was too small, etc. And the people who wouldn't listen and could affect their safety, etc. But overall they said they had good experiences, it wasn't the most exciting job all the time, but they always tried to make it as fun as possible.
  3. The Log Ride did used to have a Triceratops above you at the end of a tunnel (it's at 2:48 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pLWs1Ekgd4). I haven't been on the ride in a couple of years, so it seems from what people have said, it has been removed. According to DW's park map, the Rocky Hollow area and Gold Rush Country are just one area now and is just named Gold Rush Country.
  4. Here are those pics of the final pieces being put in place. What an awesome view from the top of the slide.
  5. ^Ah yeah, I remember them now. I don't see them as a major issue and they are needed there because the closest toilets are back near the entrance.
  6. ^I don't even remember there were portable toilets at the events. Where have they been positioned in the past?
  7. Meaning: I was at the park today and was speaking to a staff member who said that the Cyclone's car will be reversed and is expected to be like this from Boxing Day.
  8. It is always nice to include a source, rather than saying stuff with no further explanation.
  9. When people post on MWs page one thing that I've noticed that people say about is as BigKev said, the lack of additional attractions to the rides. People can complain about rides being closed, but they have to be at some point and it was predicted that the GL would be closed. I think the issue is that there is less characters that walk around, and less extra shows. If I remember correctly, there used to be a scheduled show nearly every hour on Main Street. Even small shows such as the cowboy show down in the Wild West area was a good extra something.
  10. I'm fairly sure they did post that it was getting demolished, but edited it to say it's getting re-done. SWs website does say that's it's getting major renovations.
  11. The past few nights it has been fully lit up, with flood lights shining on it.
  12. It was purely just an opinion. As one of the rides is in place and is spongebob themed, and I'd imagine as spongebob is probably a more major character, it would have the coaster. So I'd say the spongebob area would cover (approximately) the area I draw. Dora was purely based off that the Dora show is at the front. I know that there are meant to be new show/s, so that was the only reason I put Dora area there. And TMNT has the remaining area.
  13. Obviously this isn't very accurate, but this is how I'm imagining the areas will be set out and what area they will cover. Red being SpongeBob, Blue being Dora and Green being TMNT
  14. Track has been installed (Photos: Gold Coast Theme Parks)
  15. I defiently feel that the proposed lazy river and new tower for a couple more slides is really essential. You can see in the drawings that the a slide similar to the triple vortex was proposed for a new tower. I think that if the park were to expand into the gravel carpark/storage space behind the little rippers, then they would install a couple of new attractions/slides at once. Hopefully they do this in the next couple of years, the park really needs it.
  16. I can see the GD from my house and yesterday I watched it for about 10 minutes and then an hour or so later I watched it again and it was running. And on DWs website it says it's open 10-5.
  17. Some of the coaster parts have been out onto the site, the coaster station is being built and one of the other rides is on site as well (photos: TPSN)
  18. Usually the dates are released early to mid August (with a maze or two being announced). And remaining mazes are announced early to mid September.
  19. It's a shame that the enterance to the cyclone doesn't look like it does on the concept. Would make it much more inviting, rather than being tucked away in the corner.
  20. And here is the shell of that bus: It appears that coaster track has arrived as well:
  21. Another one of the rides has arrived and a ride operation booth is being installed (photo source: TPSN)
  22. I think if they are going to do a Krusty Krab themed food store, then it should be a seperate place within the area, that sells kids food. I feel the dockside tavern should just received a facelift. If they do change it to fit the theme of the area, then so be, and it isn't a bad idea, just I feel they should keep it as it.
  23. The dockside Tavern has closed now for major renovations and will be reopening mid September. Also, got an email saying that Unlimited Membership Holders will get access to a member-only preview event of Nickelodeon land.
