  1. Nearmap update from April 6 There is also all of this in the car park but I can’t make out what it is
  2. Sometimes I just forget that it exists But that's a good point about the chlorine. Essentially it's constant body disinfecting. That was my thoughts too, I can't see our parks doing a crazy amount. I doubt they will be overly busy for a while either. Anyone going will most likely just be pass holders, as people mostly won't be able to afford holidays for a while or they don't want to risk travel (even if it is safe to do so)
  3. What about a Tom & Jerry themed attraction since the park now features the characters? I definitely think the whole area highlighted on the map needs reworking. So much under utilised space which is essential for the park. SW and DW have such great kids areas that have both been updated many times over the last couple of decades, and yet MWs has hardly changed. I agree that Sam's should stay as that is still a pretty decent attraction. Tweety's has just had a refurb, so that'll last for a while. But they could easily get another 3-4 new attractions. They should also sort out that corner at the start of the area. Its a mess and looks cheap.
  4. When the parks do reopen, what are peoples thoughts on changes that will be made within the parks? Will they lower capacity? Have markers within queues to ensure people keep distancing? Clean trains after every ride? Will WnW stay closed for longer?
  5. Just came across this behind the scenes look at the screen installation
  6. Ogre-go-round and sword swing have had some extensive down time in recent years
  7. Sidewinder (25yrs old) - Refurbishment happening again, so should be fine The Giant Drop (21yrs old) - the Magnets last 1000 years, so should be fine for at least another 1979 year’s Vintage Cars (38yrs old) - Pretty simple mechanics so should be no problem The Claw (15yrs old) - Has no signs of going anywhere Escape From Madagascar (17yrs old) - Still running fine Arkham Asylum (24yrs old) - Nope, it’s a gonna Road Runner Coaster (19yrs old) - Still running fine Superman Escape (14yrs old) - Still running fine One of them is definitely going, but otherwise Sidewinder is the only one I can see going in the near future
  8. @AlexB well in that case, yep, track will be in the carpark around the bus station area
  9. Would they use the carpark though? They’ve got a lake between the carpark and the site. They’ve created a site entry point along SW Drive, so they may be storing all of it on the Sea Viper site
  10. @Gazza exactly, why go to the effort of completely removing from the park map too
  11. I’ve had someone contact me and said that because the construction is so far behind and the monorail will be closed for so long, they’ve decided to remove references if it. Apparently it will be returning, but it will be quite a while before it does
  12. Apparently it’s just because of the coaster construction and track is required to be removed/modified for it. I thought they said all construction had stopped? And why remove the attraction completely off the website?
  13. That’s on the 3D map though and that hasn’t been updated in a couple years. If you view the downloadable map, it’s gone.
  14. All references of the Monorail has been removed from the Sea World website. This includes in the attraction listing and it has been removed from the park map.
  15. The ‘Hot Wheels’ has been removed from the rides page
  16. I can confirm all of this construction has stopped and won’t begin again until the parks reopen
  17. @Brad2912 I was referring to vortex. I definitely think we will expect all other projects to be pushed back by a year too
  18. December 2020 seems like the most likely time now
  19. YOUR PARK UPDATE At Village Roadshow Theme Parks our number one priority remains the health and safety of our guests and team members. TEMPORARY CLOSURE UPDATE VRTP is continuing to follow Government updates regarding COVID-19 and at this stage Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild, Paradise Country and Topgolf will remain temporarily closed until at least 30 April. Australian Outback Spectacular is also temporarily closed and more information can be found here. Throughout the closure we have been engaging with our team members and will continue to support them during this period, including providing access to their accrued leave entitlements. VRTP is also allowing team members who have exhausted all of their leave entitlements during the stand down to go into ten-days negative leave. Since COVID-19 emerged, VRTP has worked closely with Government and leading experts to ensure that at all times it has adopted the highest level of health and safety practices and we are continuing to work actively with all levels of Government during this difficult time. Our dedicated teams will continue to care for the animals at Sea World, Paradise Country and Australian Outback Spectacular during the temporary closure. Village Roadshow Theme Parks will continuously review the situation and will take steps to ensure that once the threat of COVID-19 passes, it will continue to operate as the leading theme park business in Australia. SEA WORLD RESORT UPDATE Following the impact of COVID-19 including Government restrictions affecting interstate and international travel, dining and recreation facilities and the request for social distancing, the decision has been made to reduce operations at Sea World Resort. Sea World Resort will continue to operate however, we will monitor the situation and follow the advice and guidelines of the Government and the Queensland Hotels Association. WHEN WILL THE ATTRACTIONS RE-OPEN At this stage, we anticipate the Theme Parks, Australian Outback Spectacular and Topgolf to remain temporarily closed until at least 30 April. VRTP will continuously review the situation and will take steps to ensure that once the threat of COVID-19 passes, it will continue to operate as the leading theme park business in Australia. HEALTH & SAFETY Since COVID-19 emerged, VRTP has worked closely with Government and leading experts to ensure that at all times it has adopted the highest level of health & safety practices and there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at our venues. TICKET HOLDERS, PASS HOLDERS & EXPERIENCE BOOKINGS We thank our ticket and pass holders for their understanding during this unprecedented period and specific information about each ticket and experience type can be found in the FAQs. FUTURE UPDATES Village Roadshow Theme Parks maintain close relationships with Government and Health Authorities and will continue to monitor the situation. We will provide further updates via this page and social media.
  20. As that’s government property, you will need to do some further investigation. There is a website/app that you can pinpoint a location and it tells you all the restrictions
  21. AOS have said at this stage shows will recommence on April 14. An update will be provided on March 31. I definitely don’t think shows will be starting up then. I’d expect in another couple months
