  1. When they reduce to one train operation, they use the spinning seat. They’ve been operating both trains for the morning (at minimum) and when the queue settles down they put the spare train in the maintenance building
  2. It’s not being covidsafe, it’s the fact that there are a heap of staff in isolation waiting on results or having Covid
  3. They’ve cancelled the rest of them. Not as popular this year due to the weather conditions? EDIT: Apparently it’s due to staffing because a lot of them are in isolation due to Covid, so they don’t have enough staff to operate for that long.
  4. If this rumour is true, this might mean we will finally see the courtyard space be used properly; as in they will remove it and use it for these attractions. The issue will be that this area is used as the evacuation for Superman and Scooby and is used to access the fright nights mazes. But another suspended coaster and another kid/family coaster will be great additions. I don’t think we’ll see an announcement until later in the year once New Atlantis has opened. We might see the kids coaster open this year, but the larger coaster next year?
  5. My mistake. I made the assumption because the current CEO and COO talked it up so much it was them that were in charge of this ‘upgrade’
  6. You’re right, when you break it down they have achieved quite a lot in under 5 years. When Clark first came on he made some changes that weren’t massive, but definitely necessary. He made ride lockers free, removed the turnstiles at the MW entrance, updated the EFTPOS systems throughout and many more small changes. They have also: - Opened WB Studio Showcase - DC Superheroes vs Supervillains - Hooray for Hollywood - Scooby, WWF, SE and RoadRunner refurb - Added the Aquacolour show to Carnivale - Sea Jellies - New seal show - New Atlantis - The Reef at Castaway Bay - Spooky Nights - New slide tower and splash zone at WNW. - Brought back Dive n Movies - New animal exhibits at Paradise Country - Shaun the Sheep at Paradise Country
  7. Considering it is no longer required to get over the train track and is more complicated than it needs to be, I really hope so. If they fix that area up that’ll make a huge difference to the appearance of that area.
  8. And WB Studio Showcase. And any ride refurbishments (Superman, WWF, RoadRunner). Unfortunately they have the Scooby refurb to their name too.
  9. I believe he was referring to the ‘Giant Drop’ text that’s been installed on the overhead mesh on the gondolas
  10. I believe that was Tim Fisher. Clark came on in May 2017. I know Greg (who I believe was GM at the time) also had a major role in the attraction
  11. Every major ride addition since 2005 has had a DC IP. I can’t wait for the day when we get a new major attraction that isn’t DC.
  12. Maintenance listing for 2022 has been published online. For the most part, pretty standard, but these 3 have some lengthy downtime
  13. With the current winds, I don’t think they’ll be installing anything right now. And it’s still holidays for most of the construction industry. We won’t see trident installation begin from the end of the month at the earliest
  14. That may be true, but you can’t deny the park has improved greatly in recent years. It’s still far from being at its prime, it’s still merely a shadow of its once great former self. But my understanding is the current management for the park understand this, recognise what is iconic about the park and are trying to bring as much of that back as possible. Just look at all the school holiday offerings they had last year; they’ve never done that in the past and it was overall all successful. They’ve produce a great new attraction which has had some of the best marketing we’ve seen from a GC theme park in a long time. There is still plenty more to do, but based off 2021, they are on the right track.
  15. And it was the best thing that could have happened for DW. When Greg moved, followed by other staff/management members of VRTP, DW has changed dramatically and has become a much better park. Still a lot of work to be done, but I think it’s on the right track. Unfortunately VRTP seems to have taken a bit because of that (their ride operations being one of them)
  16. I’d say mid February we will see testing begin. And vertical construction of trident hasn’t begun, but I’d expect it too by the end of the month
  17. That’s great to see they have finally fixed the maintenance situation for storm. That was needed since the ride opened 9 years ago, but at least they’ve finally done it.
  18. When they do retire this Giant drop, because it’s such an icon for the park, I’d love them to construct a she new Giant drop. New and taller tower, with potentially Falcons fury technology. Maybe one side is normal, the other side is normal. Or it’s seats the entire way round. They could even try get the worlds tallest drop ride record again. The new tallest drop ride is about to open in Orlando and will be about 131 metres tall. The current Giant Drop only needs to be 20 metres taller to easily break the record. That can also allow for the removal of the mess that currently is around the GD.
  19. I find it hard to believe since they’ve just done some refurbishment on the gondolas. It’s got to have another couple years left at a minimum
  20. The area you are referring to is the bird aviary which has the Tassie devils within. There is a ramp that goes around the tree kangaroos and into the nocturnal house. That ramp however is closed to access the nocturnal house.
  21. I was there on Tuesday and it wasn’t open, the rest of Corroboree is (which it has been for quite a while now). I believe the nocturnal house is still closed because a lot of the animals weee given to others parks/zoos during the major lockdowns.
  22. I wasn’t at the park today, but I’ve heard everything was operating and the park was very busy
