  1. Oh, someone mentioned one new ride for Dreamworld & Whitewater World and how this wont bring in any visitors compared to Village. I kind of rambled on and on. Sorry!
  2. I think Dreamworld/Whitewater World will defineatly be bringing something out big for each park this year or next year. I think we MAY POSSIBLY see Phase 2 (well some like to say Phase 3) for Whitewater World with the recent news about how they're going to but a lot of investment into the parks for RIDES, not just attractions. I also think if they used Illuminate right, it would bring in massive crowds, not just adding a little snow and hoping for the best. The snow did get better as crowds rose, but I think something spectacular, almost Disney like (obviously not on their 90k per day attendance scale) but awesome to geting everyone go WOW, not just adding random effects together. I think we will see something and Illuminate should only get better.
  3. Oh yer, I was meant to say Superman: The escape. I usually just say Superman Six Flags.
  4. BAHAHA, until Superman Escape comes. I was at Dreamworld today and got to see the Tower of Terror (old one) testing and reaching JUST OFF the top of the tower! Where the gear part begins, it was just tipping that. It did 7 test runs at the very start of the day, that was all.
  5. GoGoBoy, I wouldn't be happy either. Defineatly digging a hole for Ardent parks. BUT from what I see, Dreamworld & Whitewater World are picking up their game. They have had a disadvantage, I believe. They started behind the others after Macquarie, but that's no excuse. I think we will see some new rides with the new '3 year expedenture program'. Drove past the Aqualoops... they do look good, I have to admit! I headed into DW & WWW today, but that's another topic.
  6. Now I see why many people use it! I'm gonna get it now, well today. (Y) Give it a try.
  7. @ThemeParkGC - Phew, he had me worried. @Scott. - Of course I knew that, that's why I said it wouldn't work (the underwater) 'cause could you imagine how much it would hurt?!? @Pin142 - I don't see a problem with RCT? What's so bad??? And what's better with No Limits???
  8. Pfft... that guy who was working there since 14 wants to be a design person. Better not take my shine. xD And a coaster that goes under water? Doesn't he realise that on impact to the water at that speed, it won't make it through. To get through it, he'd need MASSIVE power for something of that mass! Anywhos.... pretty good so far.
  9. This gives me some confidence that Dreamworld will be picking its game back up. After the take over, seems as if there is finally a CEO and board who want to see long term for the park, not just small worth-nothing attractions for the short term. Hopefully, we will see either a modern roller coaster (by modern I mean steel accelerator, which is all the hype lately!) OR a woodie to hopefully bring back some fun into Gold Rush country. Both would be awesome, but I wouldn't mind another flat ride to even out lines. Rides like Wipeout and Claw are good as they are relatively short waits. I think Dreamworld need something like the Giant Drop to dominate another part of Dreamworld's sky line to attract the attention of tourists driving past from Brisbane international AND domestic! Good Work Dreamworld!
  10. Defineatly will be worth it! Tunnel. Lasers. Mists. New Car. Backwards.... all awesome stuff. Stay tuned on the Dreamworld Australia FB Page (facebook.com/dreamworld) for the news...
  11. I think any park, even Adrenaline Park could do better! I reckon even Red Line beats this Bungee thing. MW & Wnw, you CAN do better! Mmmmmm...
  12. Ummm well when I went 2 weeks after the holidays, all the lines were pretty long still. Longest was the Mick Doohan and second longest was the Giant Drop.
  13. I say Giant Drop first up because they only have one side operating as of late and it does get a little bit busy.
  14. Thanks GoGoBoy, but my 'Dream Job' (I actually used that somewhere!) is ride design & engineering. Kenny actually asked me to do the project after seeing some of my other custom designs I had done. Pretty cool and had me excited. As soon as I can say anything else, I will. And I think I can post the video here, so here is a link:
  15. Well, this is just what I was told... and that it would be a big laser circular projector thingy ma-bob (They didn't use those words exactly) and that it would follow allong and project into the mist... They can be circular. From the structure for the tunnel before the covering was put on, I say that it will be the lighting effect used on the California Screamin' at night, but brighter and more projecting.
  16. Well, I have actually, for over 2 weeks, have been working with Damo from the marketing team (Kenny Koala on Facebook) on custom creating a car on Sketchup and adding it to RCT3 (I know you think Childish, but it was soooo hard to add the right effects, etc.) and doing some pro video recording and to finish it all up yesterday and it was posted. So, saying this, I got pictures of the cart, artist impressions of the launch, knowing what lasers do what, the mist, etc. Really amazing stuff. I cant release any pics or anything, because I promised, but as someone said above, it is very awe-inspiring and has a lower front, no spikes, and much smaller and looks lighter. Well maybe not smaller length ways, but defineatly in height. Looks like it will also be smoother with the new wheels which are much tighter and smaller with grip. You will all find out in the coming times... My custom car wasn't perfect, because I had to rush it out AND my pictures was from before it was fully finished. Pretty much, the cart is smaller, slicker, big red seats, over shoulder harnesses such as those on the Superman and Surfrider and it's just amazing some of these artist impressions and stuff that has been put into it! A must ride! The lasers, they're circle lasers attached to the tunnel that light up the tunnel with a big red light as it goes through and 'follows' it, as you see on some California Screamin' tunnels at night but in the mist, so it's much coolar and yer, just ride it as soon as you can! Check out their Fan Page for 1000 Free Tix comp also! (That's what it is called, I didn't miss spell). I can't move the video I posted here, so you can see it in a post at facebook.com/dreamworld Have fun!
  17. Hello everyone! I've been a long time reader of updates, etc. I just signed up, thinking I should contribute also. I love Dreamworld & Whitewater World the most though, so sorry if I'm every bias towards them. So, Tower of Terror II! On Dreamworld's site, they've got the logo up and it's going BACKWARDS! Mhm, that's right, backwards! Hopefully some more information tomorrow as it's a business day and that's when Kenny Koala on Facebook (The person from marketing whom runs it) logs on... We're about to find out! Discuss here what else you would like to see added! I have happened to notice, which WAS NOT in the update is the Tower of Terror que fix ups. The skull has been painted silver and looks amazing! The que has some boards up where things are being fixed... what will happen?? They have 4 weeks, beginning the 18th of August to work on it. Don't forget to shorten that though to make time for media release, test runs, etc. Thanks and amazing work, Joz, with this community! -Brad.
