  1. Probably cos they want feedback, not a thesis.. Haha
  2. The claimant believes his sore back was caused when the ride when 'whoosh' and his guts went 'smash'. If you managed to injure yourself on Buzzsaw I'm glad LW isn't still around. The smashing of your head may have injured your coccyx
  3. I'm gonna go as far as saying you are the first person to ever be injured on Buzzsaw. More than likely you already had an underlying issue/strain/injury and the force of the ride may have put more pressure or strain on a muscle. Hence the Rider Advisory sign on the entrance
  4. I can read English, but can't understand rubbish unfortunately, that's where I went wrong with your post... If the harness was loose enough to allow you to have physical separation between your lower abdomen and the harness (because your gut couldn't be smashing into it if it had contact the entire time) then I would suggest your Harness was not on tight enough.
  5. Bummed I couldn't do the tour this year, just hope they keep a similar experience next year, in quality and without slamming too many people into each group given the popularity
  6. No reason for anyone to complain about a 30min queue, especially if it was the only ride all day you had to wait for. Be happy FFS!! That feeling in your guts is not due to the coaster being rough, it's called speed & G force, and it's intentional. Why are people whinging that a Thrill ride makes you feel uneasy, when that is the entire point!
  7. ??? Do you want to reference Magicians post, as without it your post makes no sense or relevance.
  8. Given you never attended and are relying on others accounts or photos/videos, I find it had to accept your saying it would put the GC parks to shame, because it would have a B&M. There is so much grey in that whole statement and a million different conotations to what COULD have happened.
  9. Yoshi I think you'll find people don't disagree or contradict your posts as often if you worded them less matter of factly. You say 'im sure' like there couldn't be a single doubt you would be wrong, when in fact you are (at times).
  10. Rough?? There a nothing rough about Buzzsaw at all. It's one of the smoothest inversions/rolls you'll find. As for feeling like you'll fall out, that's the entire point! The harness system is designed for that freedom of movement sensation. That's a positive feature! Given its a short ride, but the queue is fast moving, and I think the only reason it cops a bad wrap is people think it should be a longer ride/the money could have gone to a proper coaster. what do you mean the ride structure doesn't fit into the area? Are you talking physically or theme wise?? No idea what the point of your photos of the old chairlift towers are? If you are saying they should be removed, yes this has been discussed previously, but it doesn't effect or impact on visitor experience.
  11. Tailspin seems like a thrill ride to me, your inability to unlock the 'thrill' feature doesn't change it's category. What makes Buzzsaw terrible? What does that make MDMC then? Where is there room for a flat ride? Being more specific may help.
  12. Thats great, but I'm not sure if your representative for the majority of theme park goers in NSW
  13. Getting from LAX to Valencia is a hell of a difference to getting from Sydney airport to Lithgow...that's if we're talking interstate/international visitation. As for locals, hell most complaint having to travel 20mins to watch their footy team play. Anything further west than Penrith would fail abysmally.
  14. In 20 years time I doubt there will be an undeveloped parcel of land capable or large enough to fit a theme park anywhere east of the blue mountains.
  15. You mean a guy with a pipedream and a poorly created website, trying to get votes for his political career by playing off people's nostalgia & memories?
  16. Ahh, but kids under 16 in Qld cannot legally work more than 14 hours a week, so they pay them for 4 hours for the advertising/commercial shoot and it screws up there weekend roster! 4 hour contract? The paperwork would take more time than it's worth! They've done the most efficient & effective means of getting extras for their ad, whilst also tapping into their target market, and getting people talking DW. This thread would have been dead & buried, yet we've been talking about DW, good or bad, for days now. All Publicity is good publicity!
  17. Could have, should have. Gone, not coming back, we move on...
  18. Oh really? I've been getting paid since post 1. Maybe you entered your bank details wrong... What do I get if I take the photo with a potato? Illegal to work more than a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks). They'll probably get you to work in the sweat shop hidden beneath Kung Fu Panda land for 15c an hour
  19. Big Kev have you considered the positives of what DW are doing? If they outsource their talent requisition to a modelling agency to get paid extras in for the day (whose to say they are not doing this for certain participants - the 'exploited' teens may just be background extras), then the only people able to take part will be those that have been recruited or accepted into said modelling agency, and paid (or had their parents pay) a contract/representation fee to the modelling agency. So straight away your social awkward, un-stereotypical kids, and those from low-socioeconomic families are immediately excluded from being involved. The kids put forward by the agency would then lose 10-20% of their fee in agency fees as well. What dreamworld is doing is given every child an opportunity to be part of something special and unique, without them having to be an extroverted, australia's next top model contestant.
  20. So volunteering should be illegal? Because that is all this is. They haven't called a local school & the school has agreed to send a class in school hours without individual being part of the decision of taking part. If you don't want to go, you don't. The only negative you could take out of it, and this is clutching at straws, would be the encouragement of kids to miss a day of school. I'm 100% against parents just letting their kids have days off for no reason or taking them on holidays during school terms, but i have encouraged my niece and nephew to register, as really it's a once (or few times) in a lifetime experience. If DW asking for volunteers is high on your annoyance list Big Kev I think you are being blind to the billions more unjust practices going on in big business globally
  21. Sounds like smart business to me. Engage with your target market, and at the same time save some money on advertising
  22. You need to limit movement to avoid people turning them on each other or guests on the walkways. There is no hope involved, the 'tyre' follows a set track so they will come into the 'radius'(?) as you called it.
  23. attended tonight. Despite the large crowd, mazes lines flowed well. I arrived late at about 6:30. First maze: Evil Within Queue about halfway between the entry signage/scaffold & the dividing fence between the studios. 30min wait. Impressive maze, some good scares, theming and very good length. Solid amount of scare actors as well. 8/10 Second maze: Wolf Creek 2 Queue back to entry sign/scaffold. 40min wait. Again really well themed, some good scares, scenes true to both movies. Plenty of scare actors, decent length. 8/10 Third maze: The Ripper Queue line hooking around the skill tester games near the arcade. Wait 40mins. Thought the theming was decent for a 'non-hero' maze. Only one decent scare IMO. There was a definite dead spot about 60% of the way through where we seemed to walk an eternity without seeing anyone, clearly people on breaks/missing as you could see Hiding spots not being utilised. Fell a little flat for mine. 5/10. Last maze: Clowns Queue line back to entry to fixed queue line. 30min wait. No real scares, lacking in actors IMO, no real consistent or thorough theming. Super short as well. 3/10. All 4 mazes completed by 9pm, so 2 1/2 hours for all 4 including walking time. Wanted to fit a ride in but all closed by 9:05 when we got back through main St. Considered doing WC2 or EW again but queues were stretching into the studio walkway from SE for both, so approximately hour+ waits to called if a night. Overall mood in park - thought the lighting, fire effects and sound fx/track was superior to previous years. Smoke in main st probably a little too toned down for mine. Missed the horror movie icons roaming as seen in previous years, which was a negative for mine. The 'burst' of 10 or so actors from under the big screen every 30mins or so was fun, as they ran/slid down Main Street causing heaps of screams. Stilt walkers bit overdone IMO. Overall I'd say a 7/10, had a great night but IMO it didn't top last years event.
  24. If the posters and/or posts here annoy you, you could always not visit? There are plenty of websites without discussion boards...
