  1. Did anyone else think that paragraph about Captain Feathersword having a new boating adventure meant that Captain Sturt will get a new life?
  2. So many memories.....but I think you missed Fairy Park in Anakie, near Geelong. (Although, it really fits in the so-bad-its-bad category). I remember going there 20 years ago as a kid, it was lame then. Took our kids a couple of years ago, nothing had changed.....
  3. (IMO) couldn't agree more. We have always found Seaworld to be the park we could spend the most time at. The kids are happy to see the shows every time we go, and spend heaps of time at ray reef and the touch pools. They would spend all day watching the penguins, polar bears and sharks if we let them. Add in Castaway Bay and the kids rides plus the flume and it's a very full day. But looking forward to seeing what the new attraction is.
  4. Jacko, settle down mate, you'll give yourself a heart attack getting so angry.....the monorail is only closed from 30 April till 3rd June...which is only really 1 month. At least they let us know, and it's not like National Lampoons when they finally make it to Walley World, because while hilarious at the time, it'd probably be frowned upon these days.
  5. Yes! There are so few rides where kids can 'do' something, our kids love Speedys.
  6. I know it was a joke, but I reckon an app along those lines would actually be pretty good! If the ride status was updated in real time, those days where (for example) Superman breaks down, to be able to check your phone to see if it was up and an approx waiting time would work well.
  7. We had a friend from Melbourne up on the weekend and visited WnW, SW and MW over the three days. Had a great time at all parks. Just a quick question though, at Sesame Street Beach all of a sudden they announced that Ernie and Elmo were going to come out and sing a song which they did outside the Big Bird theatre, it was fantastic, being that close the characters came up to all the kids in the front row and interacted with them, Ernie came up to my 3 year old and touched her eyes, ears and nose in the words of the song which made her day since Ernie is her favourite. At MW walking through the WWF area a cowboy gunfight show sprung up out of nowhere. The shows really added to our day, but I don't remember seeing them before, are they new, or have we just not been in the right place at the right time?
  8. For what it's worth, I've always thought a Willy Wonka/Charlie & the Chocolate Factory ride there would be really cool, and would fit with the kids/family theme of the area. The ride could basically stay the same, just make the water more brown!
  9. I might be wrong, but I don't think they do tell you when you go in. I've never seen it anyway, I've only seen it when you go to the ride and there's a sign up saying when it is open?
  10. ^ Why is this? It can be pretty annoying at times. Is it just a staffing issue?
  11. My kids are going to be devastated! I think it would be really sad if it wasn't replaced with something similar, containing the Looney Tunes characters and a ride for the whole family. This is one of the only 'big people' rides that my 3 year old can go on. Our 5 year old loves it too, they always get excited about finding Bugs Bunny, even though the have been on it heaps of times. Another favourite of our 5 year old is Batman the Adventure ride, the kids love the theming in these rides, and as has been said before, it's part of what makes Movie World a magical place.
  12. Our family is SO excited about this! The wife and kids (5, 3 and 9 months) are in Vic at the moment visiting family, they fly back on the 19th (so they may be some very tired kids, if you hear crying it will no doubt be from them!). But from the minute we read about this we weren't going to miss it, and reading the posts here makes it sound even better! Just one question, what time is the parade on? I hope it's earlier rather than later...
