Do remind me when DW promised a full temple, cause I've been following this since the conception, and i dont remember that being promised.

That's true, while I'm annoyed at DW for not trying to put theming in the billabong view, I'm so glad they did not stoop down to the village level of white sheds.

That's true, and I feel like a few of us (me included), are forgetting that. I highly doubt that Dreamworld would let this fail. They wouldn't invest 50 million dollars for a mediocre ride, even if the theming is amazing at the front. There's always a chance they could paint a pattern on or blend it somehow.

There's no way they'd even consider removing their oldest ride now (if you can even call it the same ride as the cannonball express). It's one of the main things that makes DW an Aussie copy of Disneyland. I have noticed before though that there is less room, but when you look at some of the other places the train goes through, you can clearly see that it can fit through tighter spots then that.

They definitely seem to be getting some work done finally. I wonder whether they will use any of the old structure/track. If they don't they can hardly say they are 'moving' the vintage cars, it would just be a new ride. However I like how it's almost in the same spot it was in originally, albeit just a bit to the right.

Maybe that's true, but at least Big Red Car had the old Gum Tree Gully side facade to back it up, that was something, and it wasn't nearly as obvious, I never remembered noticing it at all, but now when I'm at tiger island, its just so big i cant not look at it (sorry for the grammar lol)

Drone overview of the Abandoned Blue Lagoon at Dreamworld
HarryHeHe8 replied to Rydah Hi's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Definitely true, but I personality see the potential of a holiday resort next to Dreamworld and Whitewater world. Also being next to Westfield is another pro. It's not the best of places, but I can see it being an amazing place to stay for a while in the future. -
Same here, but it seems that the tiger island side won't get a lovely view. Shame it will somewhat ruin the tiger island with a big metal wall. At least Big Red Car kept the old Gum Tree Gully type facade on that side, and it wasn't as tall. Oh well, at least the coaster itself will hopefully make up for it.

Drone overview of the Abandoned Blue Lagoon at Dreamworld
HarryHeHe8 replied to Rydah Hi's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Definitely. Either way, the value of that land being right next to a major theme park is sky high. By rezoning the land they most likely will never need, they will have more money for future projects. -
Drone overview of the Abandoned Blue Lagoon at Dreamworld
HarryHeHe8 replied to Rydah Hi's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That's true. Even if they did though, I think using the old plot and the motorcoaster plot as well would provide adequate space for even a new themed area. Even if they didn't use the Motorcoaster plot, there would still be plenty of space. -

No I think I do… no running water slides is saying how there are no water slides. either that or it’s just sarcasm -

Ok that makes much more sense. Still a little confusing why they decided to say this, but fair enough. Excited to dine there!

hope so! I really wished I was alive back then, this could help me live that time period modern day!

Wish I was alive back then, sounds like fun! -
7 News has just released a news story. Also I feel like the animatronics are definitely a callback to the old Koala Jamboree! Great to see dreamworld bringing back more old things! I don’t have a link to the news story though sorry

Drone overview of the Abandoned Blue Lagoon at Dreamworld
HarryHeHe8 replied to Rydah Hi's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think that is what the sign was for, due to it most likely being wet with the wet people walking around. However, now I think it would be impossible to run in that area without tripping. -

I have since gotten much better pictures from the drone. They are attached below: -
With Matilda passing away last weekend Goliath is now all alone in the enclosure💔. I’d love to see some pictures of them together posted on this page so we can remember her. Rest in peace Matilda, gone but not forgotten.

Definitely true. I highly doubt it’s not reopening though, because it is one of if not the most popular rides, and it’s having a Reno done to it, so IMO, village would have to be on drugs to even consider that as a possibility right now.

I have been doing some research recently, and I am stumped. Does anyone know if a map of Dreamworld in 1981/1982 exists? Lets say before Blue Lagoon? If anyone has it, I would love to get a picture of it, as I am very curious.

I hope so too. With the area the stations fill up though, I have no idea what they could possible fit in there, unless they use the VR castle and plot. Even then it's not a great space, especially considering the abstract shape. I'm curious as to what ride they could use for that space, if they decide to put a ride there at all. (the area in the red is only 0.3 km squared. Enough space, but not a great shape).

I definitely agree with you there. However, I feel like what MW should do is maybe shrink the area a bit and move the entrance sign back a bit, maybe up to the photo op where the show is. This would make more space if they were planning something for the doomsday destroyer plot after WOZ. With that said, there would still be plenty of space to add all the things You suggested, but there would also be space for a whole new area where the games/Doomsday are. (google earth isnt working for me right now, so I've drawn it on maps)
