  1. Looks interesting. Glad to see it looks like they've already got a logo!! Especially after the Arkham marketing failure. So the big question is it a ride or exhibit. Of course we are all hoping ride. But surely they wouldn't announce a ride this soon if they haven't at least started working on it. Unless there really has been something going on inside the Bermuda show building?
  2. I used to work in marketing so it's something I really notice. You can look at a new ride as a new 'product'. Do you know of any company that releases a new product and doesn't have a consistent name, logo & branding for it? It's particularly disappointing as in years gone by the Warner Village parks always utilised top notch graphic design and marketing for their new attractions
  3. Remember a little while back when the photoshopped image of riders on the new train and the blurb for Arkham Asylum was added to the MW website? I mentioned a few times back then that I thought it was strange that they hadn't released any logo for the new ride yet. This just confirms my theory that they never really created a proper one for it. My understanding is that the logo they use is just taken from somewhere else and modified slightly (the game I'm guessing). So the reality is they just never bothered creating a proper logo and branding for this attraction, and now they are trying to do something and giving out mixed messages. I sure hope they will do justice to the new spring attraction and design a proper logo for it, stick with a consistent name, and give it the proper marketing it deserves
  4. That means they're confused. It shouldn't have 3 names. The fact that there are multiple versions of the logo, each with different names, is just plain inconsistent. Very poorly delivered
  5. It shows just how confused they've been with the marketing of this coaster: The ad shows a logo which says 'Arkham Asylum Shock Therapy' while the voiceover says 'Arkham Asylum Coaster'. I still don't think even the marketing department knows which one it is. Bit silly really
  6. I'd be happy if they keep the boat ride element of Bermuda, especially considering the closure of LTRR. I couldn't find any reference to Bermuda Triangle construction on the GC Bulletin website. Any idea what the article said exactly?
  7. PLEASE tell me they are not replacing the incredible Bermuda Triangle with another animal exhibit. If that really is a dinosaur egg, then I'm hoping that won't be the case
  8. Thanks for your review. Good to get the point of view of a family with young kids. I agree with you and think a very wise next move for MW would be to expand and refurb their kids area. There is a massive gaping hole with the closure of the brilliant Looney Tunes family ride
  9. That's hysterical! I have been thinking about that a lot lately myself. I've been watching all the vids of Arkham and wondering just how sturdy those seats are as they fly through the inversions. The incident at Universal Singapore has scarred me for life!
  10. djrappa - Movie World has an internal art department? I used to work in marketing for theme parks and everything used to be outsourced. You'd tell graphic designers what you want and they'd do it for you. It would then get sent to the printers
  11. But the 'shock therapy' reference should certainly be on any marketing references to the ride, especially the ride logo (in brochures, park map, electronic media etc.) However, as we have seen on the website it is just Arkham Asylum Coaster. I really think someone stuffed up a bit there
  12. At least they have put a bit more design effort into that Arkham image on the front page - although still nothing on the ride page itself. I also notice that the logo on the main page now says 'Arkham Asylum Coaster'... again, no reference to shock therapy. The marketing department really needs to sort this out. They should at least include shock therapy on the marketing materials
  13. Thanks. Glad the audio is progressing. You can see the unfinished parts of the tower and surrounding buildings from the park too though can't you? Or have those bits been fixed? From all the photos I've seen the lower parts of the tower looked very unfinished and was clearly viewable from different aspects around the park
  14. Has the theming been finished finally (especially the tower and surrounds)? And do we think they are still planning on going ahead with the on-board audio or just not bothering with it now?
  15. It looks like it just gives you that absolutely great sense that you are flying. For me the highlight is the tunnels and near-misses. The tunnel underneath the main pathway with the fog is brilliant. The main entry facade and building is also very nicely themed
  16. That has got to be one of THE MOST FUN coasters I have ever seen
  17. Agreed. It would have been great to see some animatronics or figures other than Guards. I like the concept of the cell with the red eyes and banging noises but would have been good if there were cells for all the baddies
  18. Yeah I agree, it's really strange. Just calling it 'Arkham Asylum' is odd. They just need to friggin' release the logo for it that says 'Arkham Asylum - Shock Therapy'... but it doesn't seem to exist!!
  19. It's a shame they haven't changed the illustration on the park map to incorporate the new theming and tower
  20. So disappointed to hear it's still not working. I hope MW haven't given up on it
  21. Lethal Weapon actually had lots of theming when it first opened and at a higher standard than AA. I agree with you Cruiseship. Not on the "Movie World is letting itself go" point (although theming wise-yes), but the rest of your comments I do agree with
  22. Sorry but I can't agree with this comment as they've certainly been able to do it in the past. Just look at Wild West Falls, Scooby, Looney Tunes River Ride, Batman (interior), Lethal Weapon (when it first opened). So it CAN be done. They have just CHOSEN not to do it - I believe due to significant theming budget cuts. That's my point
  23. But the audio isn't working right? That is supposed to be one of the main features of the ride. Without it, it hasn't got much to do with Arkham, apart from a few 'stickers'
  24. Yep I don't think anybody is arguing that Dreamworld haven't done an absolutely terrific job theming wise. I haven't read any negatives. So you can all relax. Fingers crossed Dreamworld keeps this level of theming up!!
