  1. Actually i was thinking you could get there by boat (it's not as if the steam paddler is going to be used for musch else )
  2. Bar none, Giant Drop gets my thumbs up without doubt! Only thing i don't enjoy about the GD is the lack of theming PS: thanks must go to me for that beautfiul GD photo, bigger size soon!
  3. Sorry, my fault But I reckon a good expansion would be to create some type of island adventure kind of like Disney anaheim, get where i mean? It's at F3 of this map i have attacthed! I have personally been to DIsney Anaheim and i must say that the isalnd that you get to by boat is some good family fun!
  4. Just figured something out! The reason GD doesn't have a "hood" over the tower like SP is that the lift mechanism (shown in picture below) dettacthes from the gondola at the top of the tower!
  5. wow there's something that would be cool! If only the GD had some more, and i mena MORE theming and i reckon they would actually really rival each other! But i reckon id DW ever wanted to do anything more with the DreamWorld Tower, i say get the "station" (term used vaguely) for the top of the tower like SP, there by making a better ride for both TOT and GD.
  6. personally, i reckon it's time to spend some money on paint! I reckon that the TOT structure needs some more paint so it can be restored to its evil, dark colour! But that's just me, and i also agree with Blue Lagoon being extended, but i think Robert Buchanan (manager of operations) would be concentrating moreso on the ThunderBolt site plus the mainstream theming for the park.
  7. Sorry about that typo! Yeah, i meant Whirlpool "without the spas!"
  8. Unfotunately (due to some software issues with RCT and RCT2) having pre-made rides that go underground was something too bigger issue in a lot of cases i.e. scenery clashes, rides underground already etc.
  9. Is there anymore photos of the Whirlpool Springs in action? I mean i've seen the ad on tv, but that pretty much shows very basic shots.
  10. Sorry richo, didn't notice that the TOT's maintnance was for only one day!
  11. Just read this, yay, i'm filled with joy, but the TOT during the holidays? Have they reached insanity?! The Skylink between the 15th October to 16th October 2003. The Cyclone between the 20th October to 24th October 2003. The Runaway Reptar Rollercoaster between the 27th October to 31st October 2003. The Tower of Terror on the 17th December 2003. (from rides and closures at www.dreamworld.com.au)
  12. Actually, recently with the owner of RCDB (Duane Marden) i have been some information for him about the Zamperla powered coaster on that was originally at the Brisbane Myer Centre, and unfortunately, i rung both Myer and Tops, and to my prevail, no info. But we are still looking for more info and pics so feel free to post more info, please? :|
  13. Hypothetically speaking "if" i owned dreamworld, i would not at all put some Tomb Raider themed ride in Ocean Parade (please don't lecture me about the placing, obviously if there's going to be an attraction, it's gonna' be in the most people sucking area of the park okay?) but mind you, it's dreamworld we're talking about here, 2 "TOT"ALLY (hope you got that joke )different themes in a matter of metres is perfect for DW.
  14. Hypothetically, a Marvel superhero land would be what Wonderland needs to boost both family and teen markets, think about it! One half of the Marvel land can have selected child thrill rides (a merry go round, and whatever was originally in HBL, except Beastie, sorry, it wouldn't fit), "possibly" a stadium with a show running associating with Marvel Superheroes(please no one give me a speach about the stadium, it's a possibility, can you handle that?), daily castings of "people dressed up as superheroes" that roam the Marvel superhero land and on the other half, your nice little (actaully quite big, something exactly like Silver Star) roller coaster and you can theme it as a Marvel ride, something like Six Flags would do with Batman or Superman, except with theming unlike SF magic mountain!!!
  15. Are we talking favourite Australian or International? Well i have a top 5: 1)Tower Of Terror 2)X 3)Xcelerator 4)Montu 5)Kumba

  17. sorry richo, but i'm still awaiting a reply from the company.
  18. I have recently been looking at used rollercoasters and came across this: "1982 MEISHO DOUBLE LOOP ROLLER COASTER, Park-model, 1 train, 24 seats" is this it my friends? is this the ThunderBolt? Another certification that this is it is that recently Richard stated that it was being sold by a swedish company. On the site where a found this, there adress was: ROMY AGENCIES PARALLELWEG 41 7161 AE NEEDE The Netherlands So please, some one correct me here!
  19. I actually think its a mixture of a lot of different variables. One: DreamWorld have money on other things such as theming (yes kiddies, just ask Robert Buchanan, manager of operations) so i think the number is more like $8 per hour isn't that right shaun? Two: DreamWorld staff are very nice and CAPABLE. Infact, not many of them are over 20 years of age and the ones that are 40 are put to the ThunderBolt or somewhere abandoned in the park by themselves to manage (hopefully.) Three: DreamWorld likes to market big numbers, that's just DreamWorld the Giant Drop (on a board next the queue line there, which is shown below) will show you that its supposed pph is 600-800 but like richard said, its more like 200 due to the fact that a lot of the workers there (not of them, there are a number of excellent ride ops) take half a minute to figure out what big red button will do what :x
  20. Actually shaun DreamWorld have a suspended rollercoaster, the Runaway Reptar. But me personally a good choice would be something that wouldn't compete with the park itself, get my drift? 8) If you had an impulse, how high would it be and would that compete with the TOT and GD? Then another suspended rollercoaster could be nice, but they already have one, so it's pointless to have one big and one small rollercoaster of the same type. Now there's a floorless B&M, doesn't compete with TOT's height, can fill the spot the ThunderBolt, can tear people out of Ocean Parade like no one's business and, will be a good supplement to replace the memory of our ThunderBolt. Well that's my 2 cents from the DW master.
  21. I totally agree! Just because our old ThunderBolt is being closed, doesn't mean it was a pile of puke (no-one correct me there). While it was jerky, it wasn't spine-rattling and still a very enjoyable ride. So hats off to DreamWorld (that's a metaphor by the way) and its 21 year old pal, the ThunderBolt, Australia's fastest (was fastest) rollercoaster.
  22. I remember a while back, i had a post with a whole heap of photos from Mr hammon's autocad files etc. of the Orphan Rocker..... There was also a huge debate over how it was said to be a "semi suspended rollercoaster". I was right!!!!! But one thing which i recken is very nice is that it is a train (meaning more than one car)which is very nice, considering the photo i got from Mr Hammon looked like to be only 1 car :bert:
