Well firstly, I would like around 3 regular flume slides since they are fun even if they are simple. Then I would have a large tower with several thrill slides coming off it, such as a speed side, freefall slide, bowl slide, steep downhill one with turns etc. http://www.proslide.com/products/bodysliding.htm In the middle of the park would be a wave pool, but a large one with waves that can be ridden , not just small ones that bob you up and down. I would also put in a race slide, but it would be the kind where there is an enclosed section with turns before the open speed slide part, this sort of layout is good because it would differenciate it from super 8, it would have variety and gives riders a suprise since for part of the race they dont know how they are going against the others. http://www.pki.com/attractions/attractions...cfm?ride_id=121 Around the park would be a lazy river, with many branches that split off and rejoin, on these branches would be enterances to master blasters which would sort of go parallel to the lazy river acting as a thrilling form of transport, these master blasters would be designed so they interact with other rides too and parts of them would be somehow obsucred from view to make predicting the layout and keeping bearings difficult for riders but with many deviations and crosses over the river and all around, there would also be a couple of long "cross park blasters" that people could use to rapidly get from one side of the park to the other in one go by riding a master blaster, the system would be similar to the one used at wild wadi in Dubai.Visitors would have a choice, they could ride the lazy river the entire way, ride master blasters the whole way with short sections of riding the main lazy river in between, or a combonation of both, so there would be a lot of freedom. An important feature of the park is a large water playground with tipping buckets, with several sub sections for toddlers, younger kids and older kids. One of the master blasters would run right through the heart of the structure, right in the firing line of water cannons and the tipping bucket. Another tower could include a collection of 5 raft attractions, similar to mamoth falls. These could include an enclosed slide with turns, an open slide with turns, an open freefall slide, a Proslide bemoth bowl, and a proslide Tornado. These 5 would serve as a high capacity major attraction. http://www.proslide.com/products/rafting.htm http://www.proslide.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.htm There would also be a section of the park aimed at adults, with a swim up bar, spas and a sauna. On the whole rides would be packed in tightly, to save space and to create a stunning visual effect of having the rides weaving and ducking over and under each other. If possible some of the slides could even interact with Cyclone, eg a slide could pass through the vertical loop or travel in the space enclosed my the helix, naturally the slides would be enclosed, or would have a saftey net over them. Tropical plants would fill in any gaps, so in around 7 - 10 years time the whole place would look wonderful. I am not sure of the theme, prehaps some sort of balinese resort paradise, but as long as the gardens were lush anything would suit. Further on down the track after the park has opened it would be nice to see a coaster like roller soaker at Hersheypark. The attached images shows most of my ideas (some I thought of while typing this post)

So now, with the opening less than a month away, how has construction progressed?

Well, it wasnt in the Oxford Dictionary.

Yeah, ive seen a compliation like that for sale at the post office. -
Well, it depends on how good the waterpark is, if its really good and has things like master blasters, toilet bowl slides and those artifical surf things i might just be looking foward to the waterpark more. But its hard to compare yet. And BTW adam, "exitation" isnt a word, but "excitement" is.

Breaking News: Dreamworld to build world class water park

One would imagine at least one of these new generation attractions would be a waterslide. And anyway it would hardly be a waterpark without slides. -

What are they, afraid of a little competion, his argument would be a little more credible if he could actually give suggestions of what DW could do that doesnt canibalise his buisness. I think its a bit rich to complain about someone planning to develop rides never before seen here when they have never been paticulary creative down at WnW. Even the new bucaneer bay has already been seen in QLD at townsville. This would be a bit like Subway complaining about McDonalds selling Deli Rolls. Welcome to the world of buisness rob, looks like you might have to gasp COMPETE. And whats he complaining about DW "partially duplicating WnW", isnt that what he would be planning to do when he opens up on the sunshine coast? -

Yeah, but somehow I think a whole new park could make more than 2 individual rides. -
Its website is www.bigbuzz.com.au, its got a very dangerous looking shot of the tobbogan run.

What about the Tornado Slide? Anyway, with water restrictions you are required to offset the filling of poolw with water savings elsewhere. This could include more efficient water use around the park, capturing water from the roof of the ampitheatre etc etc so it mightm't be too much of an issue. -

Well, to tell you the truth I would rather a whole new park than just one new ride. It also makes more sense to open a new park, for a new park they can charge a good $40 for admission, and on top of that food and merchandise sales. Whereas with a single ride being added they would be very lucky to jack up admission by that much, and you would get prehapds just one new gift shop to bring in money. I think it will encourage people to stay longer. If i were travelling up it would mean an extra day. Also, being close to WnW wont really effect it. Once upon a time DW was the only Dry park in the area, but WBMW opened up, and both have since thrived. The same would happen with WnW and DWWP side by side. I dont feel any sympathy for WnW. QLD is one of the sunniest parts of the world, you cant expect WnW to have a monopoly on the waterpark market forever. Have you noticed they have only started investing good amounts of money when they had competiton. Without it all we have had in recent years was a whirlpool. Things are really picking up now an this can only mean the GC growing to become one giant theme park conglomerate. -

Presouming that the admission fee collected from each guest was higher than the costs incurred in accomidating the guest, then yes it would make money. -

This sounds really good and will be a great addition. I like the sound of "The water park will offer a range of new generation attractions never before seen in the Australian market, together with an expansive wave pool in a themed environment" Hopefully this could include master blasters going around the park. 12 months also sounds like a very short construction time. My only gripe is the name Dreamworlds "Water Park" Sounds a bit boring, maybe something like "Dreamworlds Aqua City" or "Dreamworlds Paradise Island" would be a bit more emotive. -
Well, going by the website, vistors seem to be pretty positive in their comments about the ride on the message board, so it must be pleasing some people. All the website needs is some more pics and stats, one idea could be a table comparing the rides rate of acceleration to other things (Eg V8, Skydiver, TOT, Space Shuttle etc. But I think they have done a good job on the TV ads, and thats what matters since TV gets out to more people here.

Planning on melbourne to DW WBMW trip over xmas
Gazza replied to Flip The Man's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Ill be going in early January, it should be good staying there but i thought $100 a night was a bit much when its only 3 stars with no linen. I should be good because I would be able to walk to wnw at night and see a movie, have a free run on the slides. Just a question though, is there a supermarket in walking distance> -

If you want to save money, its actualyy cheaper to book from the airlines direct online, not from flight centre. Also, use RACV as they can save you a fair bit on tickets. Also you probably wont be able to get booked in anywhere till after new years so keep that in mind. -
Thanks for that Rabid.

So has anyone seen much happening with the extreme H20 zone such as the tower or slide segments? Its getting pretty close to opening so I would hope a fair bit has happened.
-
Becase the place is called "Interchange Park", rember the word park doesnt just mean a theme park, it could be car park, a raceway (Eg Calder Park), a pubic open space (Eg Albet park) or in this case "park" is referring to the fact that it is a buisness park. Sorry Bussy, i think your brand of humour is just not understood by some around here.
-
Or you could just roll a die with a ride assigned to each number except for one (Because there are 5 rides, not 6)
-
Whoops, i just realised thunder river isnt a big five ride, so ill just go out on a limb and say the claw.
-
Nope, 5 is the number of cars that there will be.
-
I havent been for ages, so my favourite ride from my last visit is THUNDER RIVER

The ones used in california are the stacked type so there arent any 270 degree ramps. they are all 90 degree ones that are built up over each other. It looks more like the ones used here.
