  1. Why? I'm not saying Dreamworld should copy Expedition Everest. I'm simply saying, I'd love to see a larger mountain, which then could house a much larger ride then what is currently there. I know we'd never see a ride like Expedition Everest in Australia, and I'm actually glad for that.
  2. Oh well, I liked the idea! Infact, loved it. Has there been any news on whats happening with the Mine Ride?
  3. Gazza, your ideas are amazing. I'd love to see one of these themed around an Expedition Everest style mountain (minus the snow/ice). As I said before, If they do replace this, I think Dreamworld really should replace/rebuild the mountain. Make it taller, bigger, maybe bits that hang over the water so when your going around a corner it seems like your going to fly off. Imagine going around this corner around the top of the mountain! http://www.rcdb.com/ig2590.htm?picture=31 OR, something like this through the mines. How much of a hand/head chopper effect would this give! They could even make it seem like the 'roof' of the mine is falling down when the track slops down into the banked part. http://www.rcdb.com/ig2590.htm?picture=13
  4. But if it had inversions, it wouldn't really be a family ride then, would it?
  5. I think, If they do replace this ride. They should bulldoze the mountain. And re-construct it. Make it bigger and taller. Make it have some more "cliff" sections. Maybe, they could make the lift hill inside the mountain, then make it come out at the top and have it circulate down the hill while going into and out of the mountain. Something similar to Expedition Everest? If this does get replaced. I'm not sure if I'd like them to stick with the wild mouse style ride? Maybe something similar to Expedition Everest in Disney Animal Kingdom, but themed to an abandoned mined. Use of the Expedition Everest themed car (train themed trains) would really suit this ride? Anyways, theres my 2 sense worth again.
  6. Gazza, I agree with you here. From videos I've seen of Batwing, it doesn't fall down enough. I remember when I went on Giant Drop at Dreamworld during Indy time (October), the girl was screaming "HOLY f%&k WE'RE GOING TO CRASH INTO THE GROUND!" while we were falling down. I'd love to hear peoples reaction and see peoples faces about the to gondola stopping just meters from the ground, to launch straight back up!
  7. Excellent photos once again. Do you have anything of Batwing's media launch?
  8. I do agree with you Adam. Even though Dreamworld could really do with a new thrill ride, they currently have 5. They need another family ride, they could tackle this with installing a new ride here, something that could give Scooby Doo a run for it's money? Dreamworld has currently got rides for; - Thrill Seekers (Giant Drop, Tower Of Terror, The Claw, Wipeout & Cyclone). - Little kids (Wiggles World). - Kids/Teenagers (Nick Central). While Dreamworld do have rides like Reef Diver, Log Ride, Model T-Lane Cars, Thunder River Rapids, String Ray, Vortex. These 'family' rides, I feel are old and crap. Dreamworld needs to install a new 'family' ride that will thrill you, but is for everything. Something like Scooby Doo. Also, while talking about this. I'd like to see some day a 'family' themed land. I'm not sure how they'd do this. But I've always thought opening up the island that the Murrissipi River circlates and placing rides there (rides like a big ferris wheel, big chairswing, a family rollercoaster ect). Maybe even theming the 'island' to an 'Americana' theme to suit the Murrissipi River and have the Captain Sturt Paddle Wheeler boat take you to the island. I think they are talking about the Murrissipi River, or the little lake that is in Gold Rush country?
  9. Has anyone complained to Movieworld, or asked them why the theming is so crap?
  10. I'm alittle sad to see this go. This was Australia's first indoor ride. Also, I will be very disappointed if they don't replace this ride, like they didn't with ThunderBolt. However, at the same time I'm glad it's gone. With today's modern technology Dreamworld could produce a better ride, with alot better theming. Think about it, Sky's the limits these days with theming options, ride options etc. Dreamworld really needs to use this to they're advantage like Disney Land does! I'd love to see something go back here. It would be hard to place another ride back here. But, it will also leave a big hole in the park during peak periods. If something was to go back here, they should expand the 'fake' mountain and make it bigger. Even make it circlate Gold Rush? Adam, I really agree with you here. When I visited Dreamworld during Indy time (October 20th-30th). I encounted 3 ride failures. First one on The Claw, the restraints wouldn't open. Second one on Tower Of Terror, they shut the ride down for 2hrs, no reason? Third one on Rocky Hollow Log Flume, the convey belt stopped working.
  11. I kinda really can't comment. Seeming only I've seen photos. But, what I have seen I kinda liked. Plus, Like said before these sorta rides are hard to theme. I'd rather them spend more money on theming a ride on a scale of Scooby.
  12. Does anyone think that the ride op's for Lethal Weapon should dress up like cops (police), to suit the ride more?
  13. I understand Thunderbolt was a crap ride. But, everytime I went there (1994, 2001) the lines for the ride were fairly full. If the mine ride is going, what do you think Dreamworld could/would replace it with?
  14. Sorry to say this, But I highly doubt we would see a B+M installed into Movieworld in the next 5 to 10 yrs time. If you were not to stick to the China Town theming, it'll look very dumb. Imagen Looney Tunes theming in Gotham City, so on. It'll reuin it. I really think Movieworld need to stop building indoors. Like, I love the indoor themed rides. But it looks awaked having nearly all the rides indoor.
  15. I'm alittle curious for this new attraction/ride going in the Lethal Weapon queue line. Will it be a continue for Lethal Weapon, like help tell the 'story' for the ride? OR will it be a completely different themed ride/attraction? I'm not really like the idea of 'jam packing' everything into the front of the park area. The 'Wild West' area still needs something, it's abit of a walk to there for one ride. They really need to spend some more money on expanding this area. Maybe adding a nice woodie to the area (discussed before). Ethier way, I'm sure Movieworld will do an excellent ride choice option with the ride/attraction. However, Like said before.. I'm alittle secpticle of the theming since the Lethal Weapon are is themed to 'China Town'.
  16. Dreamworld are really going downhill lately. With the removal of Thunderbolt (and no replacement), Chairlift (and no replacement) and now this... Dreamworld really need to do something to keep up with the threat that Movieworld is posing to the park.
  17. Yeh, I heard that too (well think I did). Any news from the media launch?
  18. Yeh, that's true. But, they have also had to install new rides/attractions to keep up with the current race that MovieWorld is holding with. Also I think that Macquarie has also learnt from Sunway's mistake with Wonderland Sydney, that the park cannot run itself without new rides/attractions.
  19. It doesn't look like it launches up fast. Anyone got an estimated speed? Also, it doesn't go all the way up the tower, does it?
  20. Richard, Do you think we'll ever see a Disneyland built in Australia?
  21. What happened to "Friends of Luna Park"? And, whom were the owners in the 1995 revamp? Also, Like some people have said before in threads about Dreamworld's theming/layout and the recent addition of Superman Escape in Movieworld. The Australian public really doesn't seem to give a flying s&$@ about layouts/theming. Which, I think is really sad. Seeming theming is what really gives a ride it's experiance.
  22. I was just looking around on ThrillHistory.com, and found a park which was located in Manly, Sydney. The website states that the park is Standing, but not operating. Has anyone seen this park, or got any information about this? I havn't heard of this park before. Also, is it still Standing, but not operating?
  23. Maybe, they could create something like the Big Red Car ride at Wiggles World-Dreamworld? Not sure how they'd make it or theme it. Also, what/how did Disney Land turn Finding Nemo into a ride/attraction?
