  1. I went to Movieworld today which is traditionally a bit of a 'no go' zone for our family during the holiday period but thought I would offer my reflections on how the day went. Firstly, Hypercoaster was running 2 trains and dispatches were quick, the operators were ready to go and the loaders grouped people quickly, cars were out to the overflow car park and yet wait times didn't exceed 60 minutes, except Scooby Doo at 75 minutes. In fact, rides like Looney Tunes and Green Lantern were running so quickly the wait times 'peaked' and then went down, which was really wonderful to see. Movieworld has made small changes to manage the crowds, the first 4D Movie Shows at 9:45am so when you walk in you aren't greeted with a crowd of people who are on Main St waiting to be let in, the characters were out in force, every where you looked there was characters and due to the 'not overly hot' weather the characters stayed out a long time, you could easily get photos with all of the characters you wanted to. The food store staff were quick, the rides were all operational (except Tweety and the Carousel) and it was actually one of the best days we've had at Movieworld since the last Hooray for Hollywood Event. The only thing I do miss from that event last year is the 'Hollywood' Stars on Main St as you walk up. I also did look back on Hypercoaster and Arkham is being dissembled, it is approximately 1/4 dismantled and they have started with the lift hill. As you come in from Hypercoaster it looked like they were building a queue area (Perhaps for a Fright Nights maze?)

  2. The matter of visibility and the direction this faces is not yet confirmed. They've had a light package on this tower for years - this is just an upgrade. The effectiveness of the Joker, The Green Lantern Symbol and the Topgolf logo has probably not been lost on Ardent either. The whole ride is getting upgraded, old TOT track removed, so the actual cost of installing something like this when they already have equipment up there is minor, and it's an opportunity to refresh a 20 year old attraction for the future. I'm sure they work. But they were also designed for the attraction, and not retrofitted almost 20 years later. What won't people understand about an LED signboard with some numbers on it? I don't know - Maybe its the number of days since the last fatal accident? maybe it's how many minutes until the next village dispatch? Maybe my order of 300 grams of sliced honey ham and half a kilo of bacon is ready at the deli? There is no context surrounding this sign to give any indication of what it might be for. As for discrediting a guests ability, you seem very passionate about park improvements which suggests to me you've never worked in one. We used to have a saying at my park (and i'm sure many other parks have similar) - Guests check their brains at the gate. Thanks Dr Barnett. The CDC have their own research paper on surface transmission and while they say it is a low risk for surface transmission, low risk is not no risk. If surface transmission was impossible, we wouldn't have spent the past 30 months dowsing our hands in alcohol sanitisers and singing happy birthday to ourselves in front of the mirror. In fact - we were hand washing and sanitising well before masks were considered necessary because surface transmission was thought to be higher than airborne transmission, which is probably the very reason why we have such few cases of surface transmission. But this isn't a covid thread, so i'll move on - You're insane. You're jumping up and down about parks not using efficiency methods you've observed overseas because you're frustrated that our local methods are so slow, and in the same breath you want to do everything you can to make a ride cycle take longer. Yes, it is.

  3. on MovieWorld’s instagram stories, it looks like they’ve added a stage around the base of the tree that’s located in the centre of the Kid’s WB area. i cant tell if this is an improvement or an eyesore tbh

  4. Unfortunately I'd say Gold Striker is most likely to be scrapped and the trains used for other Cedar Fair GCIs.

  5. Good evening from Canada, ladies and gents of down under. I visited the Proslide Technology production factory in Hamilton today and I've been permitted to share some stuff that has your name on it. Only found the one stack, seems to match what's already been posted in this thread. Was told that this forum might appreciate the heads up, so do with these what you will;IMG_7894.HEICIMG_7900.HEICIMG_7902.HEICIMG_7901.HEICIMG_7893.HEIC IMG_7894.HEIC
