  1. ^Be thankful we don't have a Volare in this country, they are torture devices.
  2. I'll apply for sure and when I get the job, my first call will be to Intamin and my second call will be to a hitman - to take care of those pesky residents.
  3. Trust me, from my experiences at Six Flags Over Georgia and Gronalund - not awesome for your balls. The one at Gronalund leans you right over, if they had something like that at Giant Drop's height, people would die of fright but I'd be on it for sure.
  4. I went on a Bomb Bay speed slide at Wet and Wild Orlando in 1994, it's quite unnerving waiting for the trap door to go.
  5. That sounds like a really positive start and then you can start building on that. Could I suggest that the topic title be more descriptive.
  6. Top Thrill Dragster: Ready To Go, Republica - I now have such a positive association with that song that I find it impossible to dsilike it, and I always thought of CP whenever I heard it on those ads, I think it subliminally made me keep going back to CP. On Cedar Point, they have DJ operating in some of the queues which is great on a hot summer night. I also like the Millennium Force theme, which is a dedicated piece of music for the ride.
  7. I find a lot of these specials pop up on youtube, for those that don't have cable.
  8. That's what I thought, that they would view functions as more viable. I mainly took POVs because my group was interested, and for TPR.
  9. I was there on 31/10 and Tango Train was running, I even took a POV and put it up on youtube, along night and day POV's of the wild mouse and a Rotor observation deck video.
  10. Realistically, do the operators of LPS even give a hoot about the ride line up? I agree a rainbow, or falling star as they are othrwise known would be a good addition. An indoor coaster would be a good way to get around the noise problems, something compact like a Eurofighter, but I think resdients weren't so much worried about the noise as having their view blocked, prehaps something as high as the cliff line. The Indiana Beach one Steel Hawg would be a nice fit and a half pipe would be another realstic addition. Sadly, I see no will for investment in more permanent rides in the park, I'll be happy if I'm proven wrong.
  11. It sounds like there is still plenty of room for implovment, and they should be motivated by the numbers they can get - I was reading that Knott's haunt gets 15% of their annual attendance from their haunt. I was going to go to this but I decided to go to the US instead and I thoroughly enjoyed Universal Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights and Knott's Scary Farm. MW should check out those events for ideas (within their smaller budget of course) as they are a so much fun and very scary.
  12. I'm going to LA on Friday, add notebook to packing list. It sounds like MW is heading in the right direction, I know they will never match Universal or Knotts but I see it growing if they keep getting good numbers. I'm scared about Halloween Horror Nights and Knotts Scary Farm, I'll probably have a nervous disorder by the time I've gotten through all that.
  13. ^I'm not a that big a fan of Knotts, but their Halloween looks awesome. I'm staying down the block from Knotts because Halloween goes very late into night.
  14. I wouldn't bother with Universal during the day, I'm there for Halloween Horror Nights which is supposed to be amazing. I'm thinking I'll just day trip it up to SFMM on Sunday and skip their Halloween stuff. Then head down to Anaheim on Monday, do Knott's Scary Farm for a couple of nights. I'm not a Disney fan so I won't bother with Disney though California Adventure might be worth it because they have added a bit since I went there in 2001.
  15. Managed to jag a week off work, so I'm heading over to LA on the 9th October for a week, HHN at Universal already booked for the 9th and 10th. I'll probably go up SFMM for their one on Sunday and go down to Knotts Scary Farm in the middle of the week.
  16. Didn't Halloween at MW do really well last year, or have they increased the number of nights a lot from last year so supply is greater than demand?
  17. ^Did you do Mick Doohan Motocoaster and Giant Drop, if so, what did you think of them?
  18. ^At least I'm heading up for the Movie World Halloween. If I could jag a week off and there's still tickets available, I'd be on the next plane over to LA for HHN.
  19. Damn I forgot I wasn't on TPR, you guys would have had no idea what I was talking about.
  20. There's no way any of those photos were inaccurately representing the dire situation in Sydney, flaming Godzilla, f***ed up the trains.
  21. I'll be up that way in March next year, maybe they will at least still have the Wild Mouse credit there.
  22. It's only Saturdays for the first 3 weeks and then Fridays and Saturdays for the last two weeks. Would Surfside put on later buses for the Halloween nights?
  23. I don't know, even though I work not far from the harbour bridge but it wasn't looking good that morning.
  24. ^Ah, the Volare at Rye Slayland, the memories, or lack of them from the beating to the head. You know I've been on 3 Volares now in 3 different countries and 2 continents. We did a dragon wagon at Zumas in Knoxville Tn, that was so small the lift wasn't higher than my waist - I'd settle for that at Luna Park Sydney. My vote is with Movie World, in case it wasn't obvious before.
  25. ^I haven't been to Sea World since 2003 either but I will definitely be going there to check out Shark Bay and Jet Rescue. I'm doing two nights of Halloween at MW. I don't think DW will get a look in. Probably to put it in perspective I have been to a hell of a lot of park overseas so it makes me much harder to please. I just checked, I've been to 89 parks that have at least one coaster in them according to coaster counter.
