  1. Sea World Eye is currently closed, they're making sure everything is a-okay.
  2. SurfRider won't be open till October. Is it just me or do the slides look the same layout as they were before?
  3. OMG LOL. I WAS RIGHT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RIP. haha that's the worst name though haha how slack. I bet they're fun though.
  4. That's Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. It's been there since 2004. It was the tallest and fastest in the world, but it was succeeded by Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure.
  5. Well it's not proven but I guess we will find out soon. Btw if you flip that blueprint sort of thing over from the flashing image it clearly shows a coaster layout.
  6. So what's better than a perfect 10? Hersheypark 2008 This is the advertising scheme that Hersheypark USA have made to draw coaster enthusiasts in for their 2008 addition. Many are guessing that because of the title "perfect 10", the park will get another coaster (so it has 11) or the park will break the record of the most inversions on a coaster (10). However, too add to the mumbo jumbo of secrecy, Hersheypark has apparently created this site: Nantimi.com to obscure the truth. Of course Nantimi unjumbled spells Intamin. It's got coaster enthusiasts going crazy. There has been many clues on the site: http://nantimi.com/iiiiiiiiiii.html Of course the announcement is on the 27th and this letter indicates the 26th. The link to that picture is titled /themtraveledThru. Unscrambled, this means truthRevealed.html Then, put that into Nantimi.com/truthRevealed.html and you get to: http://nantimi.com/images/1007sm.gif There have also been various links placed around the site, the latest is to hyper@nantimi.com That's why people are guessing an Intamin Hyper for Hersheypark. I wish Australian parks would go out of their way to advertise their new rides like this!
  7. Well not to an extravagant extent, but they do. Green Room, BRO, Supertubes - they all follow a theme around surfing/beach or whatever. I hope the bowls are just like "The Cannon Bowls" - they need to keep in line with the other WWW standard of slides.
  8. Does anyone know what sort of theme the bowls are going to have? Surely it will be something to do with ToH? It looks like they changed the colour from what was originally planned too. I liked the old one better. I think they should be more matching. I haven't seen them from inside the park yet though. They might call them Huey's Current ie. Small Rip I'm not funny. That function place is about as hot as my grandma. I would have thought they could build another slide tower there with some Plummets coming off them. Or even a Dark Mammoth. But it looks like they have opted for some big shed that I am officially going to crown "Waste of Space: The Ride".
  9. Ah, so now we know why the car was sitting half way up the tower - to take that photograph. They are smart haha. It says opening Summer too.. Pretty unfortunate, considering it's been standing for almost 2 months.
  10. It's not a shed. It's got an ugly canvas roof. Good move. /sarcasm
  11. How can they wreck the Spit like this. GR. I hate Peter Beattie, the sooner he gets out the better. He puts a bad face on Labor.
  12. Yeah well I thought that too when I was looking this afternoon, because they haven't started constructing the towers yet when the slides are 30-40% done. If it's duelling cannon bowls I would expect they have their own tower. The only other thing is that those footers that are in place next to ToH are for the new tower...
  13. Well it would be good if they weren't inner tube slides, it would sort of ruin Terror Canyon. Maybe we'll see something similar to ToH, you would get some great views of the park and GC from up the top of that mountain.
  14. The green slide(s) are definately enclosed. They are beginning to be assembled out the back.
  15. There's scaffolding up around the mountain peak bit.
  16. I just hope that smart person who matched the slide piece to the slide piece is wrong. So it's not a bowl.
  17. Yes, I completely see what you're saying. The last thing you would want to do is jeapordise anyones place inside the company. I think it's great that you are going to such lengths to bring us the information we want. It's pretty interesting to see that Europe does not care about secrecy as much. I guess it's because there is a lot more to keep secret and a lot more people to spill the beans - it's likely not to matter as much. I really don't see why our parks can't make a bigger lead up to their ride openings. I think it would lead to much more success. Maverick is an accurate example where they revealed the ride even before construction had started, and it turned out to be a complete success in the park.
  18. No. Obviously some of us are less sane than others. Not pointing out names though. Good topic...
  19. Yes well, I've been told off before about it. I don't care what it's called.. call it a concrete block if you wish. It doesn't matter. Gazza - Yes I was aware of this article, but is the information about the sidecar from the CEO or elsewhere?
  20. Thunder River Rapids has been updated... since I don't know when, but it is COMPLETELY different. There are animatronic miners in the cave now and it has been fixed with the strobe light and everything. They even spray you and stuff! It is easily the best themed ride in the park now. This may be old news but its certainly different to last time I went to Dreamworld (although that would be just over a year ago now). I think what I examined the most yesterday was that Dreamworld needed a little TLC. What I mean by this is, they have great rides and buildings, they just LOOK run down, so they are. Although some rides themselves are run-down, the majority of the park could easily be fixed to made look new again. Movie World do this sucessfully by retheming the main street buildings every few years, WnW update their buildings and build others to match the surroundings (thats why a lot of people said H20 Zone was out of place). It's just not the same with Dreamworld, it's all over the joint... fair enough for "so many worlds in one", but the worlds should look like they are at least from the same universe. Colonial style buildings with bright fluro paint DO NOT GO! The Claw should not be spraypainted to make it look like it's supposed to be "worn out", it looks disgusting! Wipeout seats should not be repaired with duct tape! It's these little things that make a big difference. I guess what I am trying to say is that you can see the good and the bad in Dreamworld, but unfortunately the bad is covering up the good at the moment.
  21. Yeah, well that was the understanding I got from the ride op Gazza. I don't know about the hang over the edges idea, but it would certainly add to the ride. The ride op also said that it was definately a motorbike coaster, he didn't mention anything about sidecars though. Where did this idea come from anyway? I am guessing that the coaster will be close to the ground just from the pictures of the footings/footers. They aren't very big at all, so they won't support a great height. Doesn't really matter, they do have "5 Thrill Rides". Don't know about big though, lol. I was so scared ToT wasn't going to stop yesterday, it hit the breaks really quickly in the station.
  22. Here. Along with these pieces, there are many pieces of track sitting on the far left of Whitewater World. A ride op was also talking about the new rollercoaster at Dreamworld and he said that it's more based on turns than height and inversions. There's not much else to take photos of really... As for WWW, there isn't much to take photos of at the moment. It's just a lot of dirt on 2 levels, I think the bottom level is where the pool will go. I'm hoping for a dark mammoth, there's certainly enough room where they are constructing. It is directly north of Huey.
