  1. I think you need to look at the wage comparison and not just the exchange rate to work out which park it cheaper. My parents live in Portland and my wages is more then theirs put together. I just had a quick look and the average wage of the USA is $39,273. If you calculate against each other you will find it cost Australia = 20% of wage where USA = 25% of wage.
  2. Can I get someone to uncover what you are trying to say. So yeah.
  3. I have to disagree with you about the set and actors. I thought there was not enough inside the mummy attraction with to many nothing hallways. I also thought you get rushed along to quick so you can’t have a good look around. I thought the actors did an outstanding job. My kids went through 3 times in a row and the performers where in different spots every time with different antics. I reckon the actors would be stuffed by the end of the day but they look liked where having a lot of fun. My final statement is I think the actors do a great job at filling in the holes of the attraction.
  4. I think this tyre has been there longer. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...76-1_09_08.html On another note, there has been a broken rake on the island at Dreamworld for years. The next time you take a ride on the boat at Dreamworld, have a look for it and also its friend the pool leaf cleaner.
  5. The DA has been approved for WWW. The DA will have a time limit on when work must start. DA could last fo 10 years.
  6. Gazza any chance of an update this week? I have wanted to check it out for myself but I can't seem to find the time.
  7. Richard whose misfortunes are you waiting to see unfold, for your malicious enjoyment?
  8. I just figured that out too. You would think someone would be smart enough to type in a different manner. Having motors in the last car is the funniest thing I have heard all year.
  9. Once again I say you post about stuff you don’t know anything about. There is no point winning the race if your information is incorrect. The application is on a HISTORICAL lot. It was approved in 1982, which means this coaster has come and gone. Thanks ash for keeping us up to date with the latest news.
  10. When there is nothing going on some people just make things up for the sake of it. It’s called a rumour. This type of reporting shows the integrity of that site.
  11. Just a quick update. The G.G.C.C. has approved the MCU for the upgrade of the water park. The MCU is the longest part of the process and the rest of the processes should move faster, depending on Dreamworlds timeline for this project of course.
  12. On dreamworlds site River Rapids Currently closed whilst being fixed Here we go again LOL
  13. I have a bit of extra information. As far as I can see this application is still proceeding. Two days ago dreamworld lodge a hydraulic report to G.G.C.C. relating to potable water supply and wastewater network capacity assessment for proposed white water world expansion. Reports like this take a while to complete and Dreamworld would not of know ithat it was required. When the council are waiting for a report they like to put the job on hold to make there figures look good.
  14. Sorry about that. That proves my theorem anyway. If you drink and post you’re a bloody idiot. Gazza if you read further down the page you will see it says Private Certifier The G.G.C.C. is only involved with the approval if the approval requires town planing or a relaxation. The reason why you see things pop up at different times is just dependent on when the private certifier lodges the plans they approved to the council. If the approval goes through the council then you are able to access plans from the net but if the approval has been approved by a private certifier then the council will charge you to make those plans available.
  15. Just to let everyone know on the 09.6.08 A JET SKI COASTER was approved to be built at Seaworld.
  16. I think of him more as a nightrider. He came in said what he said and then he was gone. Sometimes I just think people say something just for the sake of it.
  17. Good pickup Gazza. I was thinking that this was going to be a quite year. Yes there is no new Superman or TOT type ride that we know of yet but I still prefer lots of small additions to none. By the look of it each park on the Gold Coast will have something new by xmas.
  18. I think I have been misunderstood but I think I didn’t state my positioning correctly. The information I was talking about was more to show why sea world will not be getting a B&M. My personal stance on the spits height restriction is 100% supportive for this area. The Broadwater is a place that we all should be able to enjoy. I don’t understand what you mean by irresponsible development that the city is seeing. The Gold Coast has one of the highest levels of regulation to protect the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing cities and people moving to the Gold Coast need somewhere to live. I think the infrastructure is outdoing a lot of other major cities. A new hospital is about to be built and the new light rail system getting designed now. I think the Gold Coast is better of the most cities. I would rather drive a car around the coast then in Sydney any day.
  19. You forget spotty, Dreamworld special project team need to pat each other on the back and tell them self that they are doing a good job.
  20. I just wanted to agree in what Gazza is saying. I keep hearing that these higher rides will be built at Sea World. I will tell everyone now that this will not happen, not unto at least 2020. I will give you the information that I know that has made me make this conclusion. I only really have to say one name Ron Clarke. For any one who does not know who Ron Clarke is you can check it out at Wikipedia. Ron Clarke is the current Mayor of the G.G.C.C. and has been from 2004. In the latest council elections for the gold coast developers where advising on voting against him. My personal perspective of him is he is a 71-year-old man that needs to retire. I personally find him anti development. You only need to look at a couple of weeks ago when the G.G.C.C. closed down the WRX Experience at Pimpama. Attempts to set up an auto precinct on the Gold Coast have been repeatedly thwarted by some councillors, including a recent push for a motocross track at Molendinar. I find the G.G.C.C. attitude towards motor sport amusing when they put out thousands of residence each year for the Indy but will not let local’s have there own track. If you look at the save our spit web site you will find that Ron Clarke is a supporter. Here is a list of what these originations have been fighting. To do List Shipping Terminal Developed stopped Marine Stadium Developed into a Marina stopped Marine Simulator stopped Ferris Wheel removed Stick to the Town Plan no High-rises on Our Spit! Keep the atmosphere and open spaces for all to enjoy Gazetted - for protection forever! This is how this group protested their position to the council about Sea Worlds Eye. Now whether or not you like ferries wheels... this wheel sets a very very bad and dangerous precedent for height levels on The Spit. It is too high, too dominating and in the WRONG PLACE. But needless to say, the developers will be cheering it on. Put simply, it sets a terrible precedent - on what basis can anyone object to a structure of similar height within Sea World. And by extension, north, east and south ... if the Planning & Environment Court allow Sea World's appeal to approve the Eye as a permanent structure on The Spit? The community has made its views clear that Spit height levels should be limited to 3 storeys maximum; refer to Vision 2020 and recent petitions and public dissent over suggestions of higher levels of development. Contributes to the unfair public perception of the Gold Coast as a cheap, glitzy, fairground town, not a beautiful and natural place to live, visit and enjoy. Main Beach and Southport are beautiful places and no one company or tourist facility has the right to so degrade the visual amenity and meaning of the area. So to end my dribble, anything that is over 3 storeys high has to go through town planning. Ron Clark’s team has to sign off on any amendment or relaxation to height restrictions. Ron Clark supports Save Our Spit.
  21. I don’t understand where you are heading with this. The topic Title “Warner Bros” Your opening statement said, “I decided to make a Warner Bros. park.” Later you say “I am not trying to copy the Gold Coast park” Much like the music you created and posted, web site and this recreation of Warner Bros this is another half ass attempt of doing something that has been done before. I have seen better attempts over the years, on this web site of recreating theme parks.
  22. I know with my dealings with the G.G.C.C. they are taking along time to get anything out at the moment. Only my speculation but if the council has put the job on hold means they have requested further information from Dreamworld and are waiting on Dreamworld to return the request.
  23. I don’t find anything said in this discussion, Heartless, unpatriotic, immature, and completely inappropriate and there is nothing wrong with what has been said. I think your looking at this topic with the half glass mentality. To your reply about Dreamworld operating for a shorter period for full cost. You just have to go to a scream night when the tickets are half price for fewer hours to see that dreamworld can reduced the ticket price on the gate. With the southern states still on break I think Dreamworld would not have a problem filling up. One more thing SHADOWXL you have not done anything wrong and there is no need to apologise.
  24. I was just thinking how many rides would stop operating now a new ride is getting built. Here is my theory- this new ride is replacing the stingray. I have not been to Dreamworld for a while but I believe the stingray has still not been replaced on top of the stingray. I think the stingray was put back up for the Xmas period and will be removed once this new ride is built. I am getting a feeling that Dreamworld is planning for a new ride to be built where the stingray is.
