  1. I don't know for sure, but I will ask my friend and try to find out for you
  2. http://www.ausleisure.com.au/default.asp?P...;ReleaseID=2732 http://www.dreamworld.com.au/Rides/Thrill-...f-Terror-2.aspx The ride's name is very clever "Tower of Terror II"
  3. I havn't rode the ride yet, but apparently there is some lighting in the tunnel (fluro tubes)
  4. After almost 14 years of thrills and more than eight million panicked passengers, Dreamworld’s Tower of Terror ‘scream attraction’ is set for a relaunch. Tower of Terror will close on 18th August and will reopen four weeks later, in time for the September school holidays, with a terrifying twist. Unlike the original, adrenalin junkies will be harnessed into the deepest depths of the Tower’s lair, facing nothing but a dark void. An eerie silence lasts for just milliseconds before the car blasts backwards rocketing guests out of a 206 metre tunnel at rapid speed. Hitting up to 161 km/h in just seven seconds, riders soar 100 metre into the atmosphere dangling for several seconds of stomach-churning weightlessness at its peak before plummeting back to earth. However, with Tower of Terror II this plunge is face first. Dreamworld Chief Executive Noel Dempsey says, “the Tower of Terror has been a rite of passage for almost every Australian teenager and the re-launched ride will build on that terror factor. “It incorporates three major fears: high speeds, falling from great heights and dark confined spaces. “Instead of facing the sky, all you see is the ground, first disappearing fast and then rapidly approaching as you plummet towards the tunnel.” The last chance for guests to ride the original Tower of Terror will be Wednesday 18th August.
  5. Hmmm... I don't think that's the "Family" Experience that we are after But an experience none the less...
  6. I still think we should get "Pirates 4D" and have them market it as a new movie
  7. If it was going to be any of them, I'd suspect it would be the MuppetVison one to be honest... Maybe Terminator. I don't see it being Pirates 4D as I assume that's the same show that used to be at Sea World?
  8. As it has been stated, this could have been in the pipelines for quite a while and probably isn't to do with the movie "Grown Up's" A lot of theme parks have these Zip Lines and are becoming more mainstream. They probably got it from the same supplier as the new ropes course at Sea World so it would be done on the cheap.
  9. Or possibly Sunway Lagoon that also has a Zip Line landing in the wave pool below. All they do is have a small area (3 to 4m squared) roped off for the landing zone.
  10. Most of the rides are around the 7 - 8 Dollar mark, and RNA policy states that rides have to go for a minimum of 120 seconds (Except obviously Mega Drop and the Roller-Coasters) before they are even allowed onto the show site. The only rides that generally pass the 10 dollar mark are the "Extreme" rides like Speed, No Limit, Slingshot etc.
  11. Mmmm... when doing workshop at school, kids did that >_<
  12. Great pics, it really does look quite tall and will be very impressive from the motorway. I was half thinking until the Press Images came out that the loops were going to be in a cloverleaf formation but this looks a lot more appealing visually than first thought.
  13. Exactly, you raise even more valid points there. But then again manufacturing is very different to Amusements, so the E-Stop will function differently as you have pointed out.
  14. Anyways back onto the topic at hand, What DEAP is saying is valid and makes perfect sense. Having worked in the amusement industry it is VERY important to know when to push the Emergency Stop button or just the normal ride stop button. The ride I have worked on is a Break Dance type ride and depending on the circumstances will determine how we react. For example if we hear a noise, we don't immediately stop the ride we just slow it down in a way that it looks like it's part of the ride cycle while one of the other workers checks it while the ride is still moving at a slower speed. If we see an item become dislodged from the carriage (phone etc) we just slow the ride to a stop to retrieve the item as there is no need for an Emergency stop as that requires a decent amount to get the ride started again. However if the object appears to have come from the ride (Has never happened but an example used could be a light fixture) then the ride will be E-Stopped. It all depends on the circumstances and on the person to know when to E-stop the ride. The E-stop is always the last option and if the ride can be manually slowed down to a stop it is what we will do. I hope that all makes some sense to you
  15. I know that's why I said I had given up hope
  16. Hmmm... according to the Sea World website the Triangle is down till the 2nd of August now. I have given up hoping that the steam and fire will come back, but hopefully the rest of the ride will be functioning like it used to It also states that it's not scheduled like the rest of the attractions, so we can only hope!
  17. Ok, i'm not quite sure what your trying to say here. Are you trying to say that Dreamworld has the Diego character walking around the park now or what? Because your saying that you've never seen him there before. Just wanting to clarify what the message is your trying to get across
  18. I very much doubt it. If he does indeed work for WVTP he will probably be disiplined very soon for divulging information on the fourms.
  19. Thats what I was thinking, last I heard was it was just closed until further notice. So it must have been a maintenence issue that was unexpected, or when it went down for scheduled maintenence something was found that required a large amount of work. Then they must have had to wait for parts or something similar and had no idea how long it was going to take to fix or get parts. Hence why there was no date as to when it opened. Obviously they now have a time frame and have updated it.
  20. Yeah, youngs and bells are the most common ones to see around though. I personally would love Dreamworld or even Movie World to get a KMG Tango. They could paint it silver with red lights and do some apocalyptic theming and have it to do with Terminator or something along those lines
  21. Dominator IS the Sidewinder rethemed and the original KMG Miami Trip. Here is a list of the Miami Trip's in Australia Australian Built (Possibly Ferarri models) Music Trip - Bells Amusements Music Trip - Youngs Amusements Ultimate Party Machine - Unknown Owner Name La Bamba- Ex Wittingslow (Location Unknown) KMG Model (Prototype) Dominator - P&C Amusements Funlight Models Bad Boys - Dragon City Amusements Disco Show 2002- Phelan Amusements Wisdom Models Avalanche- Kay Dee Promotions Apparently there are another 2 Music Trip rides in Australia, but I don't know where.
  22. Sidewinder is a KMG Miami ride. It was actually the prototype ride of it's kind. It has since been renamed the Dominator. The ride mainly travels to fetes and the occasional show in Queensland and owned by P+C Amusements.
  23. Good, I think we are on the same level now.
  24. Calling my comments untrue is a very big call T-Rex. You are speaking to someone who has worked in the Carnival Industry for the last 3 years. I never said that HUSS rides are not quality, they are indeed very high quality rides. But some of the newer rides that they have made (Topple Tower, King Kong etc.) just do not get the rave reviews that some of the older rides that HUSS made do (Breakdance, Rainbow etc) None of my comments are saying what is and isn't true, it is just my personal opinion. I was just backing my arguement as to why I belive this is the case. Also with the Tivoli Spin Out, it is the exact same ride as the KMG Move It 24. But I belive that Tivoli was the reseller for America and the UK at the time, as KMG was not as big of a company as it is now. Many ride companies use brokers to sell there rides in other countries, heck Superman Escape's track was built locally at Nerang but designed by Intamin in Switzerland. I never at any point said I don't like HUSS rides, in fact some of there rides like the Enterprise and Break Dance are my favorite flat rides. I just think that unless LPS can get it running to what it should be, or at least decent enough to be thrilling it is taking up valuable space. And the same thing with KMG, I never said that I didn't like there designs at all. Some of the rides they build (Tango etc) really are amazing rides, but some of the others are hit and miss.
