Klassen24, I'm really not trying to sound rude here. But I can confirm right now that Lethal Weapon and any other Vekoma SLC does NOT have motors attached to the "Zero Car" at the rear of the train. Having watched lethal weapon do a train transfer many times before, you can clearly see that the friction wheels in the station reverse to allow the train to move backwards into the maintenance bay. The track rotates 180 degrees so that the transfer section above the track attaches and diverts the train locked down into the station backwards. There are friction wheels attached to the maintenance bay as well as one attached to the transfer section I believe. This would be adequate to power the train enough to make the short reverse trip. Gazza's photo in the previous post would also back up the fact that there are no motors attached to the zero car. His other post would also explain what the Zero Car is for so I don't see the point in explaining that one again. Once again I'm not trying to sound rude here but just answering your questions in regards to the Lethal Weapon.

I've never really found WhiteWater World to be a rip off. Yeah it's smaller than Wet n Wild but I much prefer there attractions. Sure Wet n Wild have a few things WhiteWater World don't have, such as SurfRider etc. But that doesn't mean they are a rip off as such.

What would you do if 'you' owned or managed DW?

Ah okay, I could have sworn it came up from maintenance earlier... But lol, working in the Food industry basically means you live under a rock! Daniel "We need some more Filet o Fish!" Harmer -
And to be honest, if all park staff ANYWHERE were not trained like that I would be slightly worried...

Oh, so the day I caught up with you was the day the Flowrider (I could have called it other things but I didn't) was back up and running from AM? -

I'm sorry if I caused some confusion ash, But the flowrider has been working for a few weeks now. But i was just using that as an example as it recently was "down until further notice" And Alex, as I have said there is literally nothing maintenance will do to fix the "wipeout noises" as it is just the way the motors are designed to make that whirring noise. It has been making that noise since the day it opened. Sure it's a little bit louder than it used to be but what can be expected from a ride that is 15 years old? -
I'll copy and paste my trip report from "Australian Amusement Fanatics" Don't worry about the names as you may or may not know the people I am referring to. Around mid day we met up with Matt at the Red Rooster and got to meet everyone except Dave has he was busily taking photos. After that we headed over to the Haunted Hotel and met up with Dave, And wow... Lew Osbourne has done an AMAZING job with the ride. Even the staff were costumed with makeup etc. I didn't end up taking a ride on it though. After that we headed over to Breakdance, the ride was a great ride but a rather short cycle. Which was good in my books as the Red Rooster took a turn for the worse! I walked off a bit dizzy, and had to sit down for 5 minutes before tackling the next ride. We then headed over to No Limit, and Elwin was sitting in the ticket box... but just be warned now. This ride is the ONLY one that I encountered that would not accept the Discount Ride Coupons. So Matt then paid for my ride in return for 10 coupons. We then jumped on because it was looking like a GREAT cycle with Elwin driving it. However when we got on Elwin left the ride. The ride started up, with NO interaction from the operator at all, the cycle only had one full upside down flip and was very short. I came off rather disappointed, as did Matt and Kate. Sadly I will now think twice about riding this machine. We then decided to head over to SkyWalker, which Dave decided to skip. The first thing I noticed about this ride is the sheer size of it, I was almost too scared to conquer this beast. I walked over to the control box with Kate. Luke Hennessy (One of the 2 Owners) was controlling it and after a quick talk, we were told in his exact words "Get on, don't bother paying for my ride" Luke decided to give us all a bit of a extra spin, giving us the "long" cycle. There was plenty of intense spinning action and operator interaction. The ride itself wasn't that painful downstairs... except for one real awkward slam mid ride that was VERY audible! The ride then lowered and we exited towards the control box and gave Luke the big thumbs up. This would have had to be my 2nd favorite ride, with Space Roller coming in a very close 1st. We decided to toddle over to the Zipper, which left me us all a bit disappointed. The ride was in good shape, and me and Kate hopped into the first carriage. The ride was making some very loud squeaking noises and a loud clunk all the time. It was almost off putting. Overall we didn't flip very much so me and Kate decided to loosen our grip... then at the last minute we got some INSANE flipping action, complete with the lump to the head as both me and Kate hit our heads on the grab bars. Overall it was an average ride. We headed over to Space Roller after that, and spent some time talking to Ozshowkid. After around 15 minutes we all jumped on for a freebie. It wasn't him running it... but whoever was running it was a BRILLIANT operator! The ride went for a solid 5 minutes... and going backwards was just insane! The speed it picked up was almost too much for me as I decided to sit on the outside seat. The ride was in immaculate condition with the tunes pumping out of it. Everyone then meandered around for a little bit before deciding to do either Insanity or Speed. We ended up choosing Insanity. Dave decided to sit this one out too as he wasn't feeling the best. We then brought our tickets and it was sad because the person running it came up to me and said "Your back this year... Did you actually get a full ride on it last time?" we then got to have a little talk to her about the ride. The reason it hasn't done many shows is because it was taken off the road to fix ALL the problems with it. It apparently had had only 1 breakdown the whole time of the show but it just needed to be re-set.* Matt jumped on the ride, and then me and Kate piled onto the other side. And we finally found a ride that Kate was SCARED of... She was screaming and shouting at me for dragging her on it. The ride was very smooth this year (read my Ekka review from last year for more info) After around 4 minutes the ride came to a stop and that is basically where we left it... It was really great to meet up with everyone and I had a great day. Ride Summary. Breakdance : 6 / 10 No Limit : 5 / 10 SkyWalker : 8.5 / 10 Space Roller : 9 / 10 Insainty : 8 / 10 * Just a note, Insanity was having alot of issues at Ekka last year with constant breakdowns and generator problems. As well as having some slight issues kicking into reverse and when it was starting up or reversing it was making some very violent shudders. I'm glad to say that the ride is running alot better and most of the issues have been sorted out.

I agree about the TOT noise... I like it but it's nothing graceful like the noise of the Wipeout. The sound of the Wipeout's motors whirring gives it character, and its not a earsplitting noise to say the least. In regards to Flowrider maintenance, having the mat removed would have been a regular practice as it would have given mechanics better access to the rides internal workings. With The Claw I was told about a month ago that it started its maintenance period earlier than originally planned. Apparently there was some technical problems which I am not going to go into due to not knowing exactly what it was. Lets just hope that the problem is sorted out soon as the lines were pretty nasty when I was there on the weekend. The tower's line was out the door. Motocoaster was running with a VERY efficient crew of 2 people with 1 train loading. The line was down to the switchbacks and I only waited 20 - 30 mins max. -
There would have to be a light on the main control panel (western side) that would indicate if a cable came loose or something similar. Either that or it would be fitted with an automatic shutdown (Like Hurukan Condor) and it would go from there. I am not 100 Percent but it would be something along the lines of that wouldn't it?

The wipeout makes too much noise? What about that big thing that goes 38 storeys high and 156kph a tiny bit down the road? However... I'd be wanting to get a new maintenance team... First Eureka... then FlowRider going down for extended periods and now this... The following rides and attractions will be closed for scheduled maintenance: The Claw, currently closed until further advised. -
Lol, I'll keep a note of it

As I have said previously, I have no idea what is going to be arriving... Richo, Is this going to be Parkz.com.au's version of a TPR Bag o Crap?
-
Lol, well when I get the stuff off Richo... if there's any double's of what I've got i'll let you guys know and we will go from there.

Such as myself Joz?

Maybe he is sourcing the people who created the Crackle Neon to fix the effects in Bermuda? I noticed when I rode it 2 weeks ago that some of the tubes containing this effect were not working. If only there was a way to bring the fire back!

Yeah, Kudos to WVTP about the SurfRider Refurb... If only Dreamworld would do something similar to The Claw... I can see white bits in the paintjob now

Well... SurfRider NEEDS a Repaint... so we can only hope it's getting one.

Joz, are you trying to hint at something here? -
Uh... I don't quite see what you mean by your post. Qldtaw just went off on his own tangent it was certainly within the barrier of on topic. He was just saying that he thinks WVTP will be able to pull this off reasonably well and how it could benefit the park in the long run. This could easily create some very constructive and interesting discussions. Now in regards to the roof, I have heard on the grapevine that the weather wasn't the main reason why the roof is going ahead. It was one of the key factors... but all I will say is that qldtaw and a few others seem to be on the right track. The roofing structure could open endless options for themed events such as the Movie World Xmas. They could have snow effects coming off the roof lattice and lighting and that's just the start of it. At first I wasn't for the roof but from hearing reasons as to why it is going ahead, I will say it's a very bold and brave move for WVTP... and if it is pulled off properly it will really work well.

Hmm... Judging by the cars and track style shown in that concept art... it looks to be a Vekoma model. We can only hope it is indeed a Vekoma ride, not a Intamin Motocoaster...
