  1. It hasn't been that bad... i've been to the park 3 times... all coasters have been running 2 trains.
  2. Well mikey... at least that means the wipeout is working again
  3. Saberon, Adam is right here, just because they load, unload and travel in the elevator in pairs, doesn't mean they are blocked in pairs. The only real modifications to the block system which makes it any different are the blocks telling when the elevators can move. Even then its basically the same. The first car to enter the lift would be the block, then when the 2nd one enters, it would tell the system that the elevator at the bottom is ready to move, and then it checks the top elevator to make sure it's clear (which can result in a 2-3 second delay in moving after the spiel) Then when the lift reaches the top, it just reverses the elevator block thus making car number 2 in the first block so it can reverse out then followed by the 1st car. The load and unload station isn't any different to a normal block system, as it follows the same standard rule, but they are both locked at the same time as the station is able to handle 2 trains, then as soon as 1 is dispatched it continues straight through the ride, and about 15 - 20 secs later the 2nd car is dispatched. The unload procedure is basically the same as the load procedure. As Adam has clearly pointed out these systems are designed not to be complex, because if they are too complex there is more room for error. (such as the 2003 Wild Mouse incident at the Royal Melbourne Show) So all in all, the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Block System isn't as complex as it seems.
  4. BEAM ME UP SHAMU! Sorry... I couldn't resist
  5. ^ Eh... If you pay for my screamworld ticket, I suppose you can stay lol.
  6. Now... things are going to get interesting...
  7. Hmm... maybe a ride similar to MIB Alien Escape at Universal? And GoGoBoy... it was just me being stupid... not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. Well... Thanks for that Tony, but isn't it a pity I don't work for WVTP, otherwise I'd apply for that job!
  9. For the authentic sewer smell... they could get the staff members not to shower for 3 weeks and then get them to raise their arms up right in front of big industrial fans But seriously... I don't think a Idol attraction would suit Movie World, I would prefer something similar to Who Wants To Be a Millionaire or The Rich List but make all the questions Movie or Warner Bros. Related.
  10. Hehe... I remember playing on that train at Southport when I was 3! But in regards to where the train came from, I am really unsure.
  11. *secretly hopes for a Happy Feet exhibit*
  12. About f**kin time! I wonder what this new attraction is.
  13. Just ask Tony how loud I was my first ride...
  14. Did you use wet and Thunder River Rapids Ride in the one sentence? But yeh dont trust wikipedia!
  15. Before you go into engineering, learn how to spell hydraulic The capsule weighs 6 tonnes.
  16. Ah... the wonders of a Drive Trip on the TOT... But yeah, when I went 2 weeks ago, the station was just a wooden frame and it was being demolished very fast. I wonder if this ride will be re-built or not?
  17. Now that would have been interesting to see...
  18. Well without further adieu I have uploaded my On Ride Video of slingshot. The video can be found here: Warning... Low Level Swearing, and The titles are back to front as I just realized! So sit back and prepare to laugh!
  19. I'm comparing dreamworlds best (unfortunately) roller-coaster against what I feel to be tied for 1st place for thrill ride (Claw and Wipeout) and I know that it's based on personal preference. But from a business point of view, getting 2 or 3 flat rides instead of a roller-coaster is often seen as a wiser move, but roller-coasters are still needed every 4 or 5 years. The cyclone opened 2002 if I'm correct and the new coaster is 5 years after the Cyclone, and Dreamworld was getting to a point where they needed a new roller-coaster, especially after the additions at Movie World.
  20. ^ Saying that Dreamworld needs all the coasters it can get is a bit of a stupid thing to say, while coasters are fun and exciting, they are not everything. From what i've seen in the past, dreamworlds FLAT RIDES have been alot more popular than rides such as the cyclone during opening season. Roller Coasters only make up a small portion of Dreamworld. So saying that is biased as they don't NEED more roller-coasters to be successful at this stage but they have decided to so that they can be sure to be on top of the theme park chain in Australia. And also remember for the cost of 1 roller coaster averaging $20,000,000 you could buy 2 or 3 Flat rides at $6,000,000 such as the Claw and the Wipeout.
  21. I sense we have another LPS situation on our hands where residents will find anything they can to complain about...
  22. Ah... the SBF Visa Traffic Jam... from the videos i've seen the one with the lifting arms (shown) is the best out of the 3 designs. You have a single car, the 2 car design, and the one with the lifting sweeps. I think this ride would go well where the Tweety Bird Cage ride is, and could be themed to the Tazmanian Devil spinning out of control.
  23. Yeah, and are we able to pay in cash or not, due to the fact that I don't have a credit card, and my parents won't let me use theirs. I do think the "subscription secrets" deal is fair as they are showing there support for the site (not that other members aren't) by helping to fund the site upgrades, and paying for year passes so that people can get photo updates which you see on this site.
  24. I do see the logic in it, but there are some people who want to subscribe but cant due to no credit card etc... so it can be a little hard at times.
