That is very true @AlexB... It was not until I started working for the company that I was even aware that most of these places do it... Like most I associated them with Roadside Assistance and Insurance... Now I use it for discounts everywhere I can (even when buying new prescription glasses last month)... The interesting fact though is that RACQ Membership cards do not have any expiry date printed on them as they are valid for a period of up to 5 years and most places you can get the Show Your Card and Save discounts do not check that your membership is still current and valid... A lot of the places I have used it, staff try to say that they don't offer any discounts... Of course being a staff member I can tell them they are incorrect and then enjoy a manager checking on it and then figuring out how to give them...

Just a quick mention... RACQ is selling one day entry tickets to Dreamworld at half prize for members at the moment... Ends 30 April but you can use the tickets up until 30 June... Also as a side note all the parks give a 10% discount on food and drinks and Dreamworld gives 10% on merchandise if you can show your RACQ card... None of the parks really actively advertise this so make sure you ask...

My brother has just bought his first house... Was complaining that none he was looking at before this one had any rooms large enough to contain his lego collection... Still thinking we will keep going to Bricks N Fun at Capalaba though as easier to order in rare and old sets or create your own set and buy the individual pieces...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach also has this already.

I was not saying this topic should not be here... I was commenting on Sunlanders post... The section saying... Was in relation to no one here thought this was true for a second... Why the hell would I say it shouldn't be here and then in the next breath say... As you said Joz... I put a post on my fb status about it being incorrect as well... I didn't link to parkz only because my friends know that relating to theme parks the information I give them (which most of the time comes from here) is 99% of the time more accurate than anything they read... Again had I quoted Sunlander perhaps people would realise what I have explained above and not be going off the deep end thinking I believe Parkz news should not be reporting on park news...

Any competent person who actually wanted facts should be checking out the Dreamworld website or fb page which has obviously put a post there as well. The Parkz fb page has also posted and given that fb seems to be the be all and end all of so many people these days surely that is the most relevant place to post to reach the larger audience... Given so many believe everything they read there why would they go searching for further information from a source such as the Dreamworld website or Parkz website to check and see? I came straight to Parkz the moment I heard about the incident to get what I knew was more reliable information as I did not believe what was on fb was true... For the GP that is not necessarily the case.

Not sure why you posted that here... Only saw Seafm and news.com.au reporting that it was being shut down for good... Don't remember seeing anyone here in the forums believing it... If anything quite the opposite with everyone calling out the media for their usual over hype bs reporting...

I get industry rates and being an ex staff member still in touch there I am getting a very large amount of things included in that pricing. 14 nights, beachside villa, reef trips, sailing trips, helicopter scenic flights, day trips to other islands, rather large room credit, all meals included... If you were staying on Hamilton Island yes it is very expensive but that is not where we will stay...

It is a no brainer though... Over the next several years there is a bunch of DC movies coming out... Why would they not jump on that train and ride it to profits?

I'm flat out trying to save for a trip to the Whitsunday's for our 10th wedding anniversary in a year and a half and that is only costing us $4000... Meanwhile I have friends who went a couple years ago, but then decided to go again on their honeymoon less than a year later... (I don't really understand that bit)... I would love to take my son but from doing a trip around Europe with family when I was 18 and my brothers were 14 and 10... I remember it all and my parents and I talk about it a bit but neither of my brothers remember any of it even when looking through photos... Why would I want to spend a lot of money on something my son will not remember? Yeah sure the experience of watching his face light up when he sees Elsa, Rapunzel, Buzz, Woody, Lightning McQueen... Actually those are the only Disney characters he is interested in...

I don't know... I enjoyed the Pokemon Island thing that MW did back in the day where you ticked off the different Pokemon as you found them... I was 19 at the time but working in child care so I guess my enjoyment of the attraction came from how excited the kids that were in the groups we went...

A little bit off topic but can't be bothered reviving an old thread when it sort of fits here... Does anyone still have the old Music from Main Street CD that MW sold years ago? Have been going through my collection adding music to the computer and since this thread started have been keeping an eye out for it with no luck.

I do have a couple weeks off end of May so we shall see what happens until then.
