  2. I'm guessing by the fact you commented in this forum -> 10 minutes after you started this thread you are now aware?
  3. Dayum... I suddenly want to get back into this game.
  4. Movieworld had these elements quite a while ago and removed them in favour of the towing behind buggies. I think it cheapened their parade a little. However I can understand that it means less motorised units to repair if you have multiple trailer floats you only use during certain times of the year (such as Halloween and Christmas), or for special events (such as DC) instead of having motors sitting over the year seizing.
  5. Posted 29 October 2011 - 10:36 AM Something I have found interesting over the last couple of weeks is the number of guests at the hotel referring to "Rollercoaster World." When I give them a puzzled look they say they believe MW should be changing its name due to the fact is is overun with coasters now and there is nothing for the family to do as a whole and very little for the non thrill seekers. Posted 29 October 2011 - 11:39 AM You have to remember though that a lot of people probably haven't gone to overseas parks. Looking at the myfun website and seeing that of the 8 currently listed rides under their rides page (including BATR2 and GL), 5 of them are coasters. I would say that "Rollercoaster World" is a fair comment. - Now 5 of 7 are coasters. Posted 31 October 2011 - 10:48 PM The thing that upset me (being both a parent AND a rollercoaster enthusiast) is that a new rollercoaster (not referring to GL as it's not replacing anything) like Superman or Scooby, comes at the expense of a ride, or experience, that could be enjoyed by everybody. Posted 17 November 2011 - 07:56 PM I have always wished they updated the Movie Magic Sound Stage Tour instead of ripping it out to add another coaster. I hated when they took out a nice flat family ride (Gremlins) and added another coaster. I don't think that the location chosen for this new coaster is the best idea. I hate that Seaworld covered up the small bit of water that actually warranted the bridge being there to put in a coaster. I hate that Dreamworld moved the Model T Fords to the back of the park to put in a coaster. I hate that Wet n Wild, a park that is about waterslides and attractions put in a coaster. Posted 17 November 2011 - 09:06 PM I understand coaster overload. No it isn't just you... But the leaders of this site don't like people who don't share their views so a lot of people have simply stopped expressing their thoughts instead of having to deal with all the crap they will receive about their posts.
  6. But this has been an issue for their night events ever since their first Halloween fright night. It appears this is one of the moments where revenue will win out.
  7. Not much else to say other than we have to wait and see...
  8. Myfun main page: Green Lantern Coaster is coming to Warner Bros. Movie World! Experience fun and thrills of a galactic proportion as you take on the steepest inverted drop in the southern hemisphere. Opening soon. Click on find out more and it takes you to the MW, Rides, Green Lantern page: Experience fun and thrills of a galactic proportion as you take on the steepest inverted drop in the world. Looks like they still don't know what is going on... I know a little off topic but quick query... Then, brave the ROAD RUNNER Rollercoaster - Australia's only family rollercoaster. Is this correct? What about the "Sky Rocket" at Dreamworld?
  9. While Village Theme Parks is no longer affiliated with WB, the park is named Warner Bros. Movie World. Sure Universal has non Universal attractions as does MW, but if the majority of your attractions are not affiliated with the name of the park it does raise some questions.
  10. Just saw a tv ad for the coaster... Seems they removed the "steepest drop in the world" visual and voice over and have replaced it with "steepest drop in the southern hemisphere".
  11. The themeing seems to be coming along and the whole area looks a fair bit better than it did a week ago. Hopefully there is a little more to come in the next 6 days before grand opening.
  12. I agree LW needs work and it is time to retheme it. Will be interesting to see what they choose and how well they pull it off. I do doubt a full park retheme considering HWSD and the studios so close. As I type this the tv ad for LW 1 comes on. /sigh
  13. The vip $10 thing makes sense now. Not interested in the White Christmas. More just the fact the ad says one thing and the website says another.
  14. Considering the recent additions over the years and if this is rethemed DC as well, how long until the announcement they are renaming the park DC Comics World?
  15. Saw the tv ad this morning for the Summer Pass and have a few friends heading to MW on New Years Day. Add on the wife being pregnant and wanting to stay cool this summer I decided to look into this pass just for the couple of months to find: Summer Pass $89.99 Unlimited entry to the Big 3 Parks - Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World and Wet'n'Wild Water World - until 29 February 2012. You must be a Queensland resident or resident of Northern NSW postcodes 2450 - 2490 to be eligible for this offer, you must present photographic proof of residency. Movie World's White Christmas is SOLD OUT. Should they perhaps be stating on their tv ad that White Christmas has sold out? Or is this another one of those "VIP will get free entry" when selling the passes but down the track "$10 charge for VIP pass holders?"
  16. Actually sat down and watched the Green Lantern movie last night. While it is not the best superhero movie out there it did have its moments. It has left me a bit curious exactly what the on board audio is going to be though. Are we going to be flying through some form of non visual battle or will it simply be an excerpt from the soundtrack or movie? Is worth at least a ride to see how well this is tied in.
  17. Geewhiz people. You are all making me want to go to Aussie World more and more. At least with the pregnant wife I have someone to look after my bags.
  18. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I remember seeing footage of this ride when my grandparents went many years ago and have always wanted to experience it myself.
  19. Sorry, didn't mean they were spending it in 2 weeks. Just thinking, if every pay were 2 million. My bad should have been clearer.
  20. Could anyone give any idea of the sort of themeing budget some of their past rides have had? Just received word they have got a budget of 2 million for themeing alone. Wish I was given 2 million to spend in just over 2 weeks
