While I agree with you dj that it would be better than cutting corners, their heads are still not in the right places. Went to the park today (arriving at 10:55am) with the wife as it is the only day we have off together to see that Lethal Weapon not working, which is fine, down for maintenance and a sign at the front. No problem... Went and saw the 11am showing of HWSD and then walked down to go on Batman Adventure the ride... which was closed between 11:30am and 3pm... Then walked back down main street and past what used to be the Superman and justice league shop to see a dog tag machine... Continued past the hot dog stand where they are now charging $7 for what is smaller than the $3.50 version a year or so ago, and then past the dancing heads, recording studio and willy wonka shop which were all closed. Headed into Looney Tunes Village to go on the River Ride to see that it would not be open until 12pm. Walked back across the park towards WWF and noticed that all the sideshow attractions were open, 3 staff there and no one stopping to use them. After a stop to Scooby Doo (where we were stopped several times while on the ride) we headed back down main street towards the Dru Building store... and stopped in amazement... When did WB have anything to do with Twilight? Or Betty Boop? Or Star Wars? Transformers? Predator? Rocky? Why do they now have a section of the department store devoted to candy, and ice cream? They have the Ice Cream parlour, Willy Wonka and the new store opposite HWSD for that. Then went to go on Batman Adventure the ride only to see the queue now filling the queue area and then heading out past the batman store. Other than Batman, Green Lantern and the Flash I saw no costume characters other than during the parade or their respective shows. I understand that they need to look at the financial side, but this is just getting absolutely terrible. As far as the public holiday penalty rates go... do they not make enough money during the rest of the year to cover one more day of penalty rates? That is almost as bad as Pizza Hut charging more for a pizza as they have to pay their employees more...

Sea World ski stars sunk by pirates

I bought a QLD VIP pass at MovieWorld simply because it was the same price to buy 2 single day passes (me and wife) as purchasing 2 VIP passes online and if we have one day in the next 2 months where we decide to go to any of the WV parks then it is basically a free trip. Yes the prices have gone up steeply, however if you attend the park a few times a year (or every week as I used to) the passes are still excellent value for money. I haven't bought a single pass entry to WV parks in the last 12 years (29 now) and don't think I even will again. It gives you something to do on an otherwise boring day. -
They could not give a reason when I enquired. I was simply told they were not opening due to management decisions and that it may or may not be an ongoing thing.
-
She was pulling it down when the attendant decided to push it down in what I guess was an attempt to speed up loading. We stayed at the park until closing to see if they would put another show on as we hadn't been since a week before the show opened and the did not run a third show.

How many times have you been on Superman Escape?
MaxxTheMonster replied to TimMc333's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Never kept count of how many times I went on the ride, but went on it for the first time in 2 years on Saturday... Almost as good as the first time at 10:00am on Boxing Day 2006... No I don't count how many times... but I do remember the first... Especially when it was the first public train to leave the loading dock. -
Sea World ski stars sunk by pirates
MaxxTheMonster replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Saw the Pirate show for the first and most definately last time on Monday. Apart from the bad jokes, the continuous jumping up and down on the trampolines and poorly choreographed dance routines, lack of effects (canon smoke) and storyline that can only be described as a grade 2 play quality, it was nice to see the Endeavour being used for something other than change rooms again. It was extremely difficult to get into the show for me (considering I had a pirate themed wedding) due to the absolute lack of historical accuracy (not including the use of trampolines and dance). Considering SeaWorld started out as a ski show why would they get rid of the thing that started the whole park? -
Went to Movieworld on 24th April due to them being closed ANZAC day (there goes a decade old tradition). Scooby had broken down within 5 minutes of opening for the day and remained closed for the next couple of hours. 20 minute wait on Superman was nice, however my wife's arm got stuck under the harness and as I was attempting to help her move it the attendant told me rather harshly "Sir sit down." I informed her my wife's arm was stuck and asked the attendant to have the harness released to which she replied "You don't have to yell at me sir". They released the harness and didn't give my wife the chance to hop off as her arms was injured, instead pushing the harness back down and then sending the ride despite my objections.. So made the trip to guest services... HWSD had 2 shows, both of which overflowed and as we were leaving the second show overheard a guest asking if there would be another show as they were turned away as they were full only to be told that no further show was planned (this was at 2:20pm). This was the first time in 2 years I had been to the theme park and was extremely disappointed with the overall lack of guest relations.

I'm sorry but the fact is that it was he and a bunch of kids he went to school with... If he was in the rush with colleagues and fell or was tripped up, how on Earth is that Movieworld's issue? He and his colleagues made the conscious decision to rush and that was the outcome. He was not forced by the employee to rush so how can he possibly sue? I cracked 2 ribs on the Aqua 8 racer, which resulted in me missing 4 weeks of work which would have brought in $3000... Did I sue Wet 'n' Wild? No, because I made the conscious decision to use the slide and as a result of my actions the injury occured. The kid's mother needs to get off her high horse and deal with it. A kids at 14 should be hanging out with friends and enjoying himself and not working.

Okay this is really starting to become annoying... so here I go... (Admin please do not remove or edit this post.) My real name is Scott Geoffrey Richards (Geoffrey being my fathers name), I am 27 yo being born on 10 October 1981 at 9:25pm at the Brisbane Women's Hospital, and got married on Saturday September 13 2008 at the Jacobs Well Foreshore in a pirate themed wedding. My member name, Wyncenuros, is after 4 celtic runes, wyn, cen, ur and os, which mean strength, protection, harmony and peace (not sure which is which anymore). I have worked in childcare for 8 years, 7 months beginning in April 2000 and currently live in Beenleigh, which is a 15 minute drive north of MW. I am also a fully qualified Justice of the Peace (Qualified) for the state of Queensland, meaning I assist police in many situations. I currently hold an annual pass to MW, my member number being Nr209409 and it expires 17/05/09 and a Seaworld pass, member number Nr208690, expires 25/04/09. I know many people within the park including Gavin, Cameron, Diane, Georgina, Renee (now a dancer) and Robyn from the PASS team, Adrian and Daniel (now at Seaworld) from the food and bev team and many assorted ride attendants and guest services representatives. I was there the day Simon wedged a police car between the Bank and audience overflow section during a show, I have seen Cameron roll the buggy during the 360 before landing the buggy in the parking area, and know that there was also an issue with the third wheel on the old hotrod one day where it would not lower the car and Cameron ended up flipping it to avoid the wall. My internet provider is Bigpond and I am on a $69 unlimited dl and have been on this contract for over 2 years now. I would rather use tactful discussion and presentation of my ideas, not to try and win a debate, but simply to present my ideas and let people choose for themselves what they want to believe. If they choose to believe what I am presenting to them as fact then that is a bonus, however I never expect to change someones views that they might have as they obviously have a reason why they believe in them. I am not Doc Brown and I am hoping that this will be the end of this topic. I also want to know how to add a picture to my name when I post and how to set up a signature as before this site I honestly have next to no experience using forums. I spend more time reading and going to theme parks than at home on the computer. Hopefully, armed with this new information, those of you that still doubt with the whole Doc Brown vs Wyncenuros topic, will be able to make a more informed judgement. Everything posted above is accurate and I hope it makes people realise the truth. After all that, I think a trip to MW is in order. Will post more pics around the forums if anything has changed. -

I don't know I'm just presenting what else I have found on the site. I haven't even seen "The Italian Job". In saying that, for a moment let's just say hypothetically that it is, if they only had certain licensing rights to use it, say for the theme of the arena, perhaps getting mini's would not be covered in that licensing... I know we are making assumptions here and I'm not saying for one moment what I am saying is acurate since I barely believe it myself, but isn't it a possibility? Hypothetically speaking of course... Just throwing thoughts out there... Gotta keep an open mind since we don't know what is going on... Hey I like that... how do I make it my signature tag? -

With the look of that building, the fact we are lead to believe it is Italian set, and the movie "Italian Job" being mentioned elsewhere in the forums... Didn't they jump out a huge sewer pipe in that movie? Would be awesome if they reproduced that scene. -
I was thinking the same thing about a paint job. These were taken on a Kodak CX7310
-
TY. I'll remember that for next time. Wasn't sure if I could add to an older post after leaving the site.

To start with, the "unrelated picture" you refer to was a polite warning for any parkz members who were going to take a look in person. I believe the fact that I actually showed consideration for others on this website clearly proves that I am not Doc Brown. And yes Klassen did the same, however I believe I made the quote of the month downing this same comment earlier. -

Forgot to mention these guys... If you are planning to go check this area out (outside Dirty Harry) I would suggest taking this piece of advice with you. This comes from one of the construction guys... "Don't wear blue if you want to stand here scoping out the construction. Whenever park tech's come here, these guys start swooping, meanwhile anyone else is fine. At least we know they are Qld supporters..." As it turns out, today I decided to wear my good old Shark Bay shirt which is navy blue with bright blue sleeves... made taking all the other photos fun. -
That's part of the reason I was home by 2pm lol
-
Scooby was closed today. This however was not the only attraction down today... Superman for most of the day... Marvin Martian Rocket has been down since they started construction on HSD, which is a bit of a shame cos you got a great view of the back of PASS from it... Take 1 shop is down for refurbishment... The shops on Main Street at 11:15am... The Lethal Weapon store... The lounge area in the Dirty Harry bar... Sorry about the reflection. The staff were complaining when I walked in about not having any aircon lol. A really disappointing day for people who actually paid to go in.

Despite the rain on the GC over the past few days construction was into full swing today. Guys were working on the side ramp where the Potter train once was. They have begun adding fronts from timber framework to one of the buildings. They have also started dressing up another building... certainly looks like the Italian feel we thought was coming into it. You can see the bitumen is down and on the left you can see the new edge of the seating stands. As I was leaving the park a delivery truck drove in with 3 ramps that looked like they are designed to throw cars up onto 2 wheels and what looked like a table top for a landing pad. Couldn't get my camera out fast enough though. Not sure if you can make any detail out of this photo but he backed into the practice area. There was also what looked like a white Evo using the large ramps... at this stage there is a bridge between them... wonder if it will get removed for the show? Couldn't get a photo of this as I was driving past it at the time. -
The walls are definately here to stay. There is a large ramp wide enough for a car to go up being placed where the Potter train once was and it meets up with a guide indent on the wall. If they were so against letting the public see into the arena at what is happening, why haven't they put the walling up on this section? As from the covered area behind where you get transfers to Paradise Country you can easily see over the small promo wall and into the set. I'm heading down to MW today and will endeavour to get some photos of this area for those of you who are unsure of what I'm talking about. Here are the photos... Here you can see the ramp I was refering to. This photo is taken from next to the Dirty Harry Bar. This is taken from the raised area I was refering to earlier and as you can see the top of the wall jumps down a level (approx 1-2 metres) so either it is not going to be enclosed or a dual level roof. Same deal with the opposite end near the WB Kids Zone.

Lol... go me for quote of the month. Best bit is I only became a member 3 days ago, but you quickly learn who Doc Brown is lol. Anyways... thank you Joz that someone understands where I'm coming from... I loved the old studio tour and even for a short while the small bit they kept as the "Movie Magic Sound Stages" was not too bad, but it quickly became outdated as the movies they make nowadays while still using some of the same techniques, are leaving the more simplistic tech behind. They could have brought it up to speed with new technology and movies as is was still bringing in big crowds for at least 5 shows a day. I whole heartedly agree. The spaceshot just looks way out of place. I honestly think that a flying coaster would have made more sense for a Batwing Adventure ride, maybe even intertwining it with Superman Escape and the queue line for Batman Adventure - The Ride.

Lol. Like I said in other posts, I have nothing against the new stuff, it is awesome... shame it meant out with the older more classic stuff... oh well. Is the opening date for HSD still Dec 15 or has all this rain over the past few days pushed it back? -

Met her through the stunt show. Got to know a lot of stuff about the original and progressing cast from her, and if I was in the audience during a show and she was playing Proctor or Knopinski my name would some how be mentioned over the microphone. Oh how I miss the old days. But soooooo looking forward to the new stunt show... Bring It On!!! -

Yeah, I saw a group of stuntmen walking through the park about a month back, I recognised Gavin and Cameron, but everyone else was a new face, that's why I was wondering if anyone else had any more info. Tell Robyn, Scott says hi for me Klassen lol. -
I never said I hated the park and don't assume that I do. I would not continue to get an annual pass if that was the case. Movieworld continues to impress with its additions to the park, it is a shame that it is "out with the old and in with the new", as I said, I know it's a business and they are there primarily to make money. I was there on the first day they ran Scooby Doo (about 4 weeks before the official opening date as test runs with the public), I was on the first public launch of Superman Escape (something only 20 people can truthfully claim), so yes these additions are amazing, and since Scooby opened I have never reconsidered my choice to continue to purchase annual passes. I'm just saying it is a shame that this stuff has happened. For future reference, I am not Doc Brown and do not compare me to such a mindless and immature individual please. Thank you.
