  1. We got a bunch of free tickets to the show, thanks to our new connections with the publicists from the Perth Royal Show. It was close to 30 degrees, today, so it was perfect timing to try Splash Down, the show’s log flume ride. Rode my second chairlift in two days and also got to experience the new coaster. One train comfortably fit four of us. It started spinning on the second part of the lift hill. It has lots of tight turns and a head chopper element towards the end. It seems to be themed to the Avengers and was called X Coaster, although it sounds like they want to change its name to West Coaster. Still no clues as to the owner.
  2. @Tim Dasco and I paid a visit to Adventure World, today. There are no new rides. Quite a few things have had a fresh coat of paint, but lots of things haven’t. Tim was impressed with how the grass looked. There is large fencing around the haunt/maze area. Inferno is still testing. The animal part was closed, despite Aimee, the keeper, being inside and the place looking okay. Yarli’s Safaris has new paint/decals. Buccaneer Battle seems to be cracking down on any loose items(including hats and glasses). The crowds slowly built up over the day. The queue for the Grand Prix looked to be about 30 minutes.
  3. The on-ride footage of XXXL is courtesy of @Tim Dasco.
  4. Polin are good, but I think the design and the joins are probably better on Proslides. Proslides look amazing, where I think Polin slides are simpler and more traditional. However, they're way better than nothing - so, yay, Polin!
  5. @Tim Dasco and myself spent the afternoon at the Perth Royal Show sideshow alley preview day. How we got the invite was a story in itself. Tim went on lots of the rides(tons were open) and we got some great on and off ride footage. The weather wasn’t perfect and the new coaster wasn’t running(we did see some people walking the lift hill). Saw lots of the media and other influencers there. Tim got to talking with lots of the ride operators too.
  6. As much as I hate to say this, I think @AlexB is right. My previous camera was very realistic in colour compared to my Olympus cameras. It’s like the difference between Kodak and Fuji. It suits my purposes. Having said that the new slides were glistening in the sun that day. They look great.
  7. Would you prefer the blue milk or the green milk?
  8. Lunchtime visit for @Tim Dascoand myself, today. The new slides are progressing. Two appear to be finished, with water going down the Gold Rush slide. The wave looks pretty good, although not vertical. Splash Island has new signage and Octopus Bay looks freshened up. Much of the path to the new area has been poured. There’s even a track out to the inflatable slide.
  9. But didn’t you just vomit on Push’s comments on the SV advertisement being excellent and then in your next post praise the same advertisement? But you’re right, it is someone else who vomits on all of Push’s comments.
  10. And from the ground. There’s a big new sign along Neave’s Road, but nothing above the gates. It was beautiful weather, today, and plenty of people were out and about. The new waterslide tower has a roof and looks great. The old waterslide playground(Splash Island) looks so much better now.
  11. For those people with young families who want to visit a quiet inner city amusement park in Tokyo, here’s my review of one I went to in 2015. It’s near a large temple and one train stop from the Skytree. http://parks115.blogspot.com/2015/10/hanayashiki-amusement-park.html?m=1
  12. Congratulations @Tim Dasco - looks like your guess was right about The Scorpion going west to the PRS. Seems like we might finally be getting a coaster as well.
  13. From Outback Splash’s Facebook post today. It’s also the last day for 10% off their season pass.
  14. Thanks to @Tim Dasco for the heads up on this RCT2 inspired park map from Outback Splash. Note the old waterslide playground structure has been renamed Splash Island. https://www.outbacksplash.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Park-Map-Coming-Soon.pdf
  15. This is the latest trailer for the waterslides that has been playing in the park’s cafe.
  16. ^Polin did a pretty good animation for the Outback Splash installation too, except it included POVs as well.
  17. Lots happening at the park still. It has been rebranded to Perth’s Outback Splash. The base of the slides seem to be in place on the new tower and the stairs and structure are close to complete(although still no roof). The slides are due to open November 20. The old slides in the water playground are getting a new coat and are looking the better for it. The main gate has been replaced and is waiting for new signage. There are crazy character graphics inside the main cafe. Ordered my new season pass the other day. The early bird special is $89 until the end of this week when it goes up to nearly $100. Whilst it gives you 10% off food, the cunning geniuses at OS have now made the pass only 7 months long. God knows what you’re supposed to do next winter.
  18. Polin is very popular in Australia at the moment. They’re also building the tower at Outback Splash.
  19. It’s a shame you’re not one of the top 50 theme park bloggers. https://blog.feedspot.com/theme_park_blogs/
  20. @Tim Dasco and I did visit Outback Splash last weekend. The staircase up the new slide tower is pretty much complete. The roof has been finished on the ground next to the tower, awaiting a crane to lift it to the top. The structure is being readied for all of the different ride elements and different pieces of tube have been attached together on the ground. Painting on the old water playground has started (with a vibrant red in the process of being applied to the handrails and other parts. The Iguana Cafe is now The Burger Bar, replete with theming and signage. The season pass entrance now has a gate and a roof. There’s been a bit of painting of handrails out the front too.
  21. Inferno was up and testing, today. The new paint job looks good, although they haven’t replaced the scrim and signage down the bottom yet. Unlike, Outback Splash, Kahuna Falls doesn’t appear to be getting a new paint job and looks pretty faded. It looks to be quiet around most of the areas. I could see a cherry picker front and centre (probably work on rail rider) and a ladder up near the kiddie coaster/ yarlii’s barrel spin.
  22. Just under two months until the new season. Inferno is back up and looking good. The main gate entrance way has been repaired. Absolutely no sign of any new construction.
  23. It will be interesting to see how they manage it. It does look like it was designed in RCT 2. Could make for a good road trip @Tim Dasco - Kalamunda, Northam, Kulin. Who’s up for the challenge?
  24. It appears the four water slide tower and pool complex should be ready by January. https://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/northam-aquatic-centre-moves-toward-january-2020/
