  1. From Gold Coast Themeparks - Triple Vortex construction: https://www.facebook.com/goldcoastthemeparks
  2. $2 million is actually the cost of Revolution which was built in 1976. If you're not familiar with that coaster watch the awesomely bad disaster movie 'Rollercoaster' which is available for about $6 from JB Hifi.
  3. Annoying article in Saturday's West Australian Travel Section by Gemma Nisbet about Dream World. I'm not quite sure why someone who doesn't like big, scary rides is writing about them. Here's a quote: "After watching the braver members of the group on a warm-up ride - the Motocoaster, rated as only a "moderate thrill ride" but too scary-looking for me - we cowards set off on our own." Some nice pictures, but only one fact is offered: "The Giant Drop - the tallest freefalling ride in the world." No mention of Tailspin or any other new developments either.
  4. You could be right. What are they doing to the bridge? https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Theme-Park-Social-Network/132673766814240
  5. Quite a heavy fog in Perth this morning.. only if their machines were this good.
  6. Adventure World did the same with Abyss. At least they're confident that it will be ready on time. Good old German know how, I guess.
  7. Wow, the virtual reviewers are so harsh these days!! Did you even bother to check their website to see if the Twirler was open?! Of course the coasters won't be as well themed as Disneyland. Give them a go, man! Your rantings are giving me as much a headache as looking at your sideways photos.
  8. Shouldn't they be concentrating on the road, anyway?
  9. I think the price of passes will eventually go up - it's a bit like where Disneyland was at in the late seventies and early eighties.
  10. The latest report from dejiki is up. Some nice shots of the family coaster. Obviously, they're getting ready for all of the Puss in Boots activity as well as Halloween http://dejiki.com/2014/08/uss-update-2014aug/.
  11. That theater looks really good. Do you have a park map or overhead shot of the whole park?
  12. If it's any good it will be for the following year. They shouldn't rush it. I'm wondering if it's connected to the demolition of the castle - that pic is ages old.
  13. I think it's a 'top notch' coaster because of the ride experience. Like Superman Escape, it's something you're not going to forget in a hurry.
  14. Wow - it all happens in the one day. It looks like it is finally the end for the castle and they are increasing the level of 'speculation' about their new project: MI2. I'm still voting for a flume ride, preferably a hydro lift. https://www.facebook.com/AdventureWorldOfficialPage The Rampage will look great with this guy..
  15. ^That's kinda like living next to an airport and complaining about the noise from the planes. How close are the houses to Dreamworld? Adventure World in Perth is mainly surrounded by an industrial area, although there are houses over-looking other parts of the lake. It also has lots of grassed areas - perfect for pitching tents.
  16. I really loved this story from TPR a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if any Australian theme park has attempted this. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1474513#p1474513 I know they have their Fright Nights and Screamworld, but has any park done a 'Rock your Disneyside' and stayed open for 24 hours? I think it sounds like a pretty cool experience. I think after hours events are great. I was around for some of the early days of 'extra magic hours' at Disney World. It was not heavily subscribed to at the time, which allowed you to walk on and off Splash and Space Mountain so many times it wasn't funny. What are your favourite ERT or after hours memories?
  17. I hope Adventure World is saving their pennies this year - if this is them spending what's left of their budget (forever) we're in a world of hurt. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the re-theming of The Rampage and The Black Widow turns out. And then the next big thing..
  18. Like Adventure World, MW is obviously saving their pennies this year. I'm down with the fact that this is not for me and it's actually catering for a market that they're not currently addressing. I'm actually looking forward to the next thing..
  19. If this is the 1970s, roller coaster names could include: The French Connection Bullit The Streets of San Francisco
  20. I think the title change will be a part of the package to help educate people what the 'experience' will be about. I could think of nothing worse for a ride op or park employee to have to deliver that same spiel over and over again, about who the ride is for and what it's all about.
  21. You mean you weren't trespassing? Pretty good pictures - they certainly tell a story. Has the monorail been running with the deconstruction of the coaster? I hope they're looking after it - not many monorails of that vintage left anymore.
  22. As much as I want them to get another top notch coaster, I think a long term strategy involving both would be best. It does seem like they've been listening and taking note. Hopefully, they've got their next couple of years planned and ready to go.
  23. Do you think the new title will help clarify that the driving school is strictly for kids? Surely they will set an age limit.
  24. That is a lot of work you are putting in there. It sounds like your magic show will be bigger than what Steve Martin was doing in Disneyland back in the day. What year is your park up to?
