  1. I also hope it sounds a lot better in person, there doesn't seem to be many sound effects for a city being attacked by aliens - no Sirens, screaming, not even the sound of the wall collapsing - I suppose this is to make it less scary for the younger riders
  2. If you look at the concept art there are quite a few of those "starfish" alien spores shown, can't wait to experience first hand.
  3. There are plenty of pics up on the Thrill Zone International facebook page - Looks really impressive.
  4. When they refered to it being a world first, I think they were simply refering to the theming - the first such ride to be themed around the Justice League characters.
  5. The enterance just isn't in the centre of the archway, therefore the words have been sort of squashed in. To be symetrical the word of should be at the highest point of the arch (as in the cartoon), the MW version has the word Justice beggining at this point, making it look uneven. Nut I think it still looks awesome - might head over on the weekend to see it up close.
  6. This is when having a non-riding friend or family member comes in handy, to hold the loose items while the others ride. I myself have prescription glasses and have been told by the staff at the queue entrance to wear them until seated and the attendant will then take them from me - which is the same for Superman and Green-Lantern.
  7. Well if it is trackless like the "Big Red Car" it could easily travel and stop a certain points and then pivot on it axis giving a 360 degree range of motion through certain points of the track, which would be very handy for a shooting ride (rather than a teacup style car like Buz were you spin yourself). But I think the trackless system is just to add to the illusion.
  8. I also think that the pictures shown are of the "Track" not the queue, the paths are too wide to be wasted on a queue. I think the ride will be based inside the Justice League headquarters with the cars travelling around the outer halls - with the 3D screens being used to simulate windows. So we as riders will shoot the approaching aliens through the "Windows".
  9. Would the pictures be of the actual ride track, or just the queue?? Because if the queue is placed indoors it will take up a chunk of the buildings already small footprint.
  10. I hope they keep the audio and don't take the can't be bothered approach, It helps to pump you up for the ride, which itself is a pretty tame rollercoaster, the music just ads a layer of "stimulus" during the ride. Has anyone else been on the Superman Escape without the "audio" working, its no-where near as fun, I went on it a few moths back and there was no announcements throughout the dark-ride ride section, and it didn't have the "Superman Fast Speech" before the launch, audio can really improve a ride, so for those saying that it doesn't matter or won't make difference it can.
  11. The audio used is the original recording made by Looney Tunes creator Mel Blanc back in 1950, it was recently put to that 3D CGI as an exclusive theatre short for the release of Happy Feet 2, and is an exclusive bonus on the Bluray version of the movie. I agree that it would be pretty cool to see these in Movie World, though they work with 3D, they don't exactly have anything fitting for a "4D" presentation.
  12. Removed Comment (Don't won't pictures of my living-room, floating around forever )
  13. Easily, as I said in the other comments if you read them - They are all set to the one powerboard at one of the chairs, and I as I said I have to set each "effect" off manually by turning the power on or pressing the release button for the fog, as I want them. * Strobe Lights = Lightning, camera flashes etc. * Vibrating Seats = whenever the bass gets loud. (thunder, crashes, explosions) * Fog = onscreen smoke, clouds, etc. * Water = Splashes, etc. (Only very sparsely in a fine mist, as I don't want to soak a room full of electronics) * bubbles/foam = I've only used during the snowing scene in Narnia, and when the fairy god mother appears in Shrek 2. (the foam is too messy) As I said I don't do it very often and do it more for the kids enjoyment , not my own, so I don't get to focus on the movie as much as usual, but its great fun for the others watching.
  14. Haha yes, for those who may not know - Buttkicker = http://www.thebuttkicker.com/
  15. Yes, at the moment I have to manually set off each of the effects, which is a hassle and not that accurate. But I can't justify setting the computer program up for each movie, when we'll probably only do the whole 4D thing once per film. I'm looking into getting a Buttkicker though.
  16. I'm serious, It didn't cost that much at all. * 3D Tv about $900 * 3D Bluray Surround Sound $600 (when Clive Peters went into Liquidation) * Fog Machine $30 (From Aldi) * Strobe Lights $15 (From Dick Smiths). * Vibrating chairs (we got the couch reupholstered with Vibrating massage mats (from big w) under the material) * Entertaing Family and Friends... Priceless All the cords meet at a single powerboard and need to be set off manually during the movie. Though I would like to use a computer program later on to make this automatic (too much time and effort though) We obviously don't use it often and only set up the effects a few times a year for the kids to have a movie marathon with all their cousins over.
  17. I have a mini "4D Theatre" set up in my media room. I have a 51" 3D TV, a 7.1 Channel 3D Bluray surround sound system, Complete with a fog-machine, strobe lights, water mist jet, bubble/foam machine and vibrating seats.
  18. They haven't changed it that many times in the parks history: Marvin The Martian in 3D - 1997-2005 Shrek 4D - 2005-2010 Journey to the Centre of the Earth - 2010-2012 3 films in 15 years seems decent, to keep it relevant and up-to-date. and as I said earlier- "I personally think Journey to the centre of the earth was just a quick replacement they threw in when they lost the Dreamworks contract to Dreamworld. They had to remove Shrek 4D by a certain time and have a replacement in and running in a short time, the Journey 4D was in use in a number of parks and was probably the easy fix until a more permanent film was chosen."

  21. Movie World has posted on their Facebook - "Major announcement coming this morning. Stay tuned!" - with a picture of the new attraction coming this Spring sign.
  22. I personally think Journey to the centre of the earth was just a quick replacement they threw in when they lost the Dreamworks contract to Dreamworld. They had to remove Shrek 4D by a certain time and have a replacement in and running in a short time, the Journey 4D was in use in a number of parks and was probably the easy fix until a more permanent film was chosen. The film itself was very choppy and didn't have any continuity, the pre-show didn't make much sense either, But I think the 4D effects were used well. while on this topic, does anyone know whether the Shrek 4D at Movie World had the scent effect in use?? I know that in other parks (I think including Universal Singapore) the room fills with a candy scent when Gingy's house is shown. I don't have a very good sense of smell and didn't really notice it.
