  1. Found this photos of the Sea World monorail on an “abandoned” Facebook page. Not my images.
  2. Could Flash be opening much sooner than originally stated? They are already looking for people to film ads for the ride.
  3. At Main Beach now, emergency services rushing down sea world drive, Police have closed the road just before Versace and are diverting traffic.
  4. Early decision and announcement? They gave less than 10 days notice!!
  5. So they will no longer sell tickets to EPCOT at Walt Disney World? Or any of the multi-park tickets for Walt Disney World? They also have captive dolphins!
  6. It’s at the front next to the stars cafe, where the Shrek meet and greet used to be years back.
  7. This is the level of effort put into the Tom and Jerry meet and greet area. 😂😂
  8. You do realise that the “original” 1990 IT was a 2 part TV miniseries. It was not a cinema release, it was literally a 2 part TV show. However it was extremely successful and has a huge cult following, though many people don’t realise that the “original” has 2 parts. So yes you can call it a franchise, especially with the cinematic “remakes” being released.
  9. Using the snow globe as an up charge makes sense. For each group the globe has to be deflated for people step in, then it has to be re-inflated for the photo. It’s a slow process that would cause huge lines if it was a free photo-op. They had the same thing at Eat Street over Christmas, the snow globe cost $5 for up to 6 people to enter for photos.
  10. Stills from some drone footage over the BB house remains.
  11. The video on Sea Worlds website has some POV of the new coaster.
  12. I know it’s not a theme park, but any chance of getting a Nearmap update of Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Dubbo? I’d like to see the progress of the new African savannah precinct in Sydney and the Lion pridelands in Dubbo. My uni finally changed the Nearmap password 3 years after I graduated and I can’t get on through them anymore 😂
  13. If it was worth selling for someone else to use then it would be worth keeping open at Dreamworld. Obviously it’s just too old to be kept viable, so they will just sell the scrap metal.
  14. They have names on the stars around the fountain at the entrance, but that’s it.
  15. Jason Momoa’s handprints and signature in a concrete block (Chinese Theater style) have been recently added to the Aquaman Exhibition.
  16. I’ve saw this ad months ago as well online and TV here in Brisbane. It’s the TV commercial that I first noticed the kids are dressed as the members of the Mystery Inc gang.
  17. I think he meant why would Dreamword pay someone to ruin a nice looking building and turn it into the ugly mess it is today. Dreamworld don’t pay someone to take the photos 😂.
  18. Kong vs Godzilla is much more likely, considering it is produced/distributed by Warner Bros. Dora is by an entirely different production company (Paramount) so couldn’t be used in the “WB Showcase”.
  19. Topgolf expansion plans have been put on hold according to an article from Ausleisure: The Village Roadshow board has reportedly halted plans to develop up to eight Topgolf venues in Australia and the Asia Pacific as a result of uncertainty over the financial performance of the first Gold Coast location. In 2016, Village Roadshow signed an agreement with US-based Topgolf to bring the concept to Australia. Village took a 67% equity stake and provided 100% of the $35 million capital. The company had big ambitions for the brand – and in March 2018 called on landowners to support locations for new venues. At the time, Village Entertainment Chief Executive Kirk Edwards stated "we plan to open eight venues across Australia and key APAC territories, and have been delighted to hear from multiple operators of both new and existing developments across Australia.” The company spent $35 million on its first Topgolf venue which opened in June 2018, next to its Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast and Warner Bros. Movie World attractions. However, the Australian Financial Review has reported that Topgolf Australia has opted to reduce its stake in the partnership from 33.3% down to 3.7% - taking Village’s exposure to 96.3%. The AFR reports that plans to build eight Topgolf centres have now been put on hold. The news coincides with reports of disagreements between Village Roadshow Deputy Chairman, John Kirby; Executive Chairman, Robert Kirby and Chief Executive, Graham Burke.
  20. Would seem logical, though some iconic places left off. Perhaps they couldn’t get permission for use of Uluru for example.
  21. Movie World has since commented: We have conducted an investigation of this report with our security and operations teams and are pleased to advise you that there was no attempted abduction. The child left the ride and was safely reunited with his mother with in 5 minutes. We take the safety of our guests extremely seriously and have an extensive security team and operational procedures in place to ensure all of our Theme Park properties are safe and secure for our guests to enjoy. As always, the safety and security of our guests at all Village Roadshow Theme Park properties is our utmost priority.
  22. It’s being reposted on Movie Worlds page by numerous people, so who knows. Movie World are replying with a generic response: Hi, thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. As part of standard protocols, operations at Village Roadshow Theme Parks include an extensive security team and operational procedures to ensure all properties are safe and secure for our guests to enjoy. As always, the safety and security of our guests at all Village Roadshow Theme Park properties is our utmost priority. 23. This post have been doing rounds on Facebook: WARNING TO ANYONE GOING TO THEME PARKS over Christmas!!!!! This is a pretty sensitive post and I still am a bit shaky typing it, but it was an eye opener and brought home a reality today at Movie World to trust NO-ONE. We witnessed an attempted child abduction, in bright sunlight, with many adults by and no protocol in place. Mum and Scarlett were in the line for a kids car ride in a shed. I was sitting by the glass door watching. Scarlett was next on the ride and I saw a man jump the glass fence when the ride finished. Without realising, I didn't see him exit but you see some strange things and thought nothing of it as was getting ready to film Scarlett. Two little kids came out and then a Mother started screaming and running looking frantically for her son, who had not come off the ride by the exit. I overheard the young daughter say to the Mum that "the indian man we have been speaking to helped him out". I saw that Mother's whole life crash before and the look of pure fear washed over her. I ran over and we called security to help. This is the scariest part, Movie World had no systems in place for this! The staff were slow and unsure what to do, apart from call security. The poor Mum was in absolute shock, so I told her to show them a picture, get descriptions over the radio fast and close the park and call the police. One of the workers said, " What are you a copper?" And I yelled back "He's 3! This is too suss!" The Mum dropped to the floor and started praying to God. By the time the security arrived, other parents started searching too and then we got the call 10 mins of frantic searching he was found. The worst part, 50 metres from the exit, metres from us with the same man that jumped the fence. The same man who had preened them all day. The boy was returned to the Mother. It appears he jumped the glass door, took him through a back exit and was headed out the park. I believe reports are being followed up etc. Such a warning to anyone in care of kids. I haven't ever experienced something so close to home that has scared me to the core!
