  1. Well we have seen them waterproofing and someone said earlier that they were testing the water pipes/sprays, so now they must be doing final checks before the water is put in. I would say that will be done overnight and then they will do a final couple of tests before operation begins again.
  2. I have spoken to the someone who currently works at Dreamworld and they said they are not sure if it will open this weekend. They will be having a meeting at the start of next week to discuss this. There is a chance they could open it this weekend though, just a few more tests.
  3. ^the theme park social network posted it on their Facebook page along with a number of images (this post has since been removed). From the photos it only looked like there was one room featuring some of the different batmobiles, bikes, masks and weapons. They claimed it was at MW, but maybe it was from another park (they usually post realia me stuff though).
  4. There is an exhibit at Movie World featuring some of Batmans different machines and costume of the years. I don't know where in the park it is, but it opens from tomorrow so I'm sure we will find out soon.
  5. I remember a couple of years ago a young girl nearly drowned in the cave of waves at WWW. The parents went off to get ske food leaving the young girl with their sister (who too wasn't very old). She went of to her parents. Luckily lifeguards spotted her, but I believe she was taken to hospital.
  6. ^^Just because there is the stereotype that Dreamworld won't fix anything and don't care, doesn't mean they won't start now. Just have some confidence and be positive that Dreameorld are making changs and want to improve the experience you have in the park. I think the next couple of years will be big for the park
  7. ^it would be good if they brought it back. What was the reason for its closure?
  8. It's good to hear that they have made a list and noticed things that need to be done throughout Dreamworld. Ocean Parade is almost finished and I am very pleased with all the work they have fine so far. If they give the claw a fresh coat of paint and do something about Cyclone I will be a very happy man. A couple of other things that would be good, include: upgrading a few of the enclosures in the wildlife area. And of course replace Eureka, and give the rapid and log ride a face lift.
  9. I don't think a river ride where you go past animals enclosures is a good idea. Rider may not always see the animals. There enclosures won't be overly big because there won't be enough room for a river ride and animals. The reclaimed land may be long, but it isn't overly wide for a river rapid ride to go in one direction and turn go back again. I think river rapids would be good. I think the wild idea is good as well. But together I don't think it is. Just my opinion.
  10. 9D Cinema is like a 4D cinema really. It contains different effects along with the film (moving seats, water spray, etc)
  11. ^If they did a rapids ride like the Jurassic Park ride I think it would be a great addition to the park. I still believe that there is a chance for the WILD attraction to happen. I would like to see a new coaster to use the land of Sea Viper and the old Pirate Ship land. This could allow for a decent coaster. But if they wanted to build a coaster that was unique, then they would use the reclaimed land. It would be good if they built a kids coaster to fit on the left side of the stream and a thrill ride on the right. We can't forget there is also the small area of land used for Dinosaur Island (I don't know what they could use this section for but I'm sure there is something)
  12. I have been informed that the information about the new thrill ride, wipeout and the rest of the cean parade upgrade, may not be announced until next week because Dreamworld are trying to get the media to come and be at the park when it's released. This is not definite but likely.
  13. ^Nothing was mentioned about the new slide. I do know that there will be a meeting/conference this week (I don't know if media are invited), which will talk about wipeout, new thrill ride and the other refurbishments that have happened in Ocean Parade.
  14. I have been informed by a staff member that we should find out more information about the new thrill ride and ocean parades makeover next week. And there is a high chance that Wipeout will be reopening this weekend or at the start of next week.
  15. ^It looks like there is quite a bit of area under the cyclone which has been fenced off. I do hope it has to do something with the second refurbishment.
  16. ^I would say that they would put the path back in, otherwise people won't be able to have easy access from the splashdown pools of the RIP and the new slide, especially if they wanted to ride again. At the moment though I can't picture how the slide will go. How will the start of the slide be positioned at the top of the tower. Will it go the opposite way of the RIP or will it start next to the conveyor belt for the RIP, does anyone have any ideas? And if it is a single/double rider slide, I would like to think that the staircase would have to be widened. Unless the slide uses the 4 seater tubes. Then the conveyor belt could be used. If so, that would mean the splash down pool would be linked to the of the RIP. To me this seems like a possibility: Also, Dreamworld have announced that the new food outlets will be pizza, coffee shop (as downunder said) and a sandwich bar.
  17. Yes it was that wheel which was installed in surfers.
  18. The wheel did move to surfers and then I don't know what happened. The one in Brisbane was there before it went to surfers (I think)
  19. Ok thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was a great addition though. It offered great views. It was a shame when I first heard it was being rover. But I can understand why environmentalists would want it removed.
  20. It's good to hear that they are installing a slide which hasn't been seen on the GC before. If people do have to carry up there raft, they widen the stairs. I don't see them using the lift them they use for the RIP.
  21. The wheel was 50m high. So why is there a restriction of 30m? So why was the wheel installed if there was a restriction and did it have to be removed due to height?
