  1. Dive n Movies have been extended again until the end of April. They will be starting from 5 instead of 6 from March
  2. I would say it’s also to make it easier to find when they have events on in their because they state that it’s held in there, but people may not necessarily know What I’ve never understood is why is Giant Drop listed under Gold Rush Country, but the path leading to it green which is Main Street?
  3. Aqualoop needs a good clean then. The Black Hole looks like it has been repainted, which leaves Tornado (which didn’t look too bad). The other slides are just white.
  4. Yesterday myself and a few mates (from overseas) went to Wet n Wild and this was my first trip to the park in a long time, so I was interested to see how/if the park had changed. The biggest change was the installation of scales for every attraction. At the beginning of each queue and at the top of each attraction, scales have been installation that guests must stand on before boarding/sliding. A number doesn’t come up, its just simply a green or red light. They have also added signage at the start of every attraction showing the seating arrangement within rafts (where the heavy be light people sit, depending on how many people are riding). This definitely helped with the boarding process. I will commend staff on their efficiency with the new scales process, as it didn’t seem to impact loading/wait times. After the recent storms the lazy river was closed because it had been impacted by it. But also Black Hole and Surfrider were closed. The Black Hole had construction fencing around the entire attraction, with workmen up and down the stairs most of the day. And the Surfrider was tested a couple of times, but as always was closed. Because it was a hot weekend, we kept shoes on when walking around the park and some attractions did have storage containers at the start of queues, which is a great idea, but they should implement this for all attractions as shoes were being left on the pathway at entrances. When I last went into the park, the tornados shade sail was removed. This has since been replaced, but not with the white circus style, but instead with kids playground shade sails. The Kamikaze’s shade sail was also removed which made the queue area very hot, but queuing on the stairs was even worse. Overall staff were efficient and some were entertaining, but some were pretty useless. One guy was at the top of the Aqua Racer and didn’t say anything and just stood next to the button. Some people were struggling with the starting position, but no assistance was offered. In some runs, he would push the button before some people were even ready. An hour later someone else was up there and he was awesome. As a number of people have stated, some of the slides definitely need some attention/repaint. Aqualoop, River Rapids and Constrictor in particular. I also really wish they would sort out the mess between the entrance and wave pool. They need to remove the zip line tower, it’s got no purpose. They’ve also got a bar, food carts and ice cream truck, that makes the area a mess under the zip line tower. I think they need to construct some new facilities to accomodate these around this area. They could remove the old projector room and build a full new drink/food building. After visiting WhiteWater World recently, in comparison between the two, WWW I would see as the more superior water park. And at $20 cheaper, a lot better value for money. WnW may be bigger and have a lazy river (when it’s open), but I definitely don’t think it’s best. And not just because of the things I’ve mentioned, but also I see WWW as having a better range of attractions.
  5. There was guys spraying down the structure this morning
  6. The company repainting the Green Lantern at MW are also working on the Sidewinder too
  7. To be fair Bermuda did a lot more than the gas line wrong with it. A lot of effects weren’t working too, but that’s because they were just left and never replaced. A major refurb of that ride would have been worth it
  8. It was because the construction company pulled out, hence the major delays. It wasn’t necessarily Sea worlds fault
  9. Out of those, I think Steel Taipan is the best fit for the coaster and it’s features. I think Hiss-teria is too corny for a high thrill coaster. Gold Coaster, while corny would work for Ocean Parade and maybe opens some opportunities for queue theming
  10. Nah, it’s clearly replacing the Giggle and Hoot ride
  11. @Gazza that was my thought exactly. Especially when SV was in the planning stages before the thought of closing TRR existed
  12. Does anyone know how much longer the DreamWorks license has got left?
  13. If you want to use the stairs, can’t you just easily push the gate open and walk down the stairs?
  14. It definitely did well for being the Gold Coasts oldest ride
  15. The spiral queue allows for wheel chair access, so they can’t just remove it
  16. Nope, that’s not how the industry works. They’ve got to keep these prices to be able to pay for future rides to replace the ones they remove. It’s the same when an attraction is down for maintenance, they don’t lower prices because one or more rides are being inspected/repaired. The industry leaders, Disney and Universal don’t do it either.
  17. They should call it Wipeout, Reef Diver or maybe even Stingray. I see them just removing the Hot Wheels branding and its theming. The ride will just be called Sidewinder and nothing more too it
  18. At least we don't have to see those canopy logs anymore. But seriously, it was a great ride for the park and I hope they do replace it with a family attraction (hopefully another flume style ride), but that's what the park needs. There are thrills and kids, but nothing really in between and that's what the park needs.
  19. Not surprised about the log ride retirement, but hopefully this will lead to exciting things for this area of the park. With the coaster, if the first pieces of equipment aren't arriving until May, does this refer to track or machines to begin construction. If its the later, then will the coaster still be open by Summer? Seems like the Hot Wheels deal will be no more then. I wonder if it will return to a theme to match in with Ocean Parade? Maybe the Grid Burgers will also be updated to suit.
  20. The max. weight for the slides at WWW have been added to the parks website
  21. SW bothered and plonked a ride on the edge of the dolphin pools
  22. Looking on nearmap, the area where HWSW is really wouldn’t suit anything but another coaster. It’s a back of house area that’s just concrete and back of buildings that were never meant to be seen
