  1. Sorry, I got very confused as I thought on the main page that it seemed this only had 3 pages, but actually had around 29. Therefore I talked about space someone suggested on page three for a coaster with a really long break run before realising that discussion had had its fair share of airtime. Therefore, as I couldn't find a delete button, I thought that was the best I could do On the topic of accidents, I remember reading an article ages ago on TPR saying that there is an inverse relationship between ride intensity and death, which I found interesting. It pointed out exceptions and excluded accidents which were completely the fault of the victim (like climbing a 4 metre fence to get a hat before being struck by a coaster), and most accidents were actually caused by very basic, non-thrilling and poorly maintained fair rides.
  2. Having a dark ride is a good idea It just shouldn't go where the Sea Viper was
  3. Stop comparing things to "the rest of the Gold Coast" in terms of who the rides should be aimed at. The reality is that Sea World is becoming a glorified zoo. Some immersive dark ride won't change that. Sea World are not in a position to do that, let Movie World do it. They have enough thrills IN THEIR PARK, whereas Sea World doesn't. It is not beneficial for Village Roadshow to neglect a good attraction for Sea World just because Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild have many already.
  4. I never realised how expensive it was, and it surprises me it is that much. It's an epic ride but isn't that heavily themed or anything... Anyway, perhaps a shorter, more compact equivalent would be cheaper. It needs to be unique and be considered fiercely thrilling in my opinion. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks that I would say iSpeed is a good one but probably too similar to Superman. Having watched some more clips of Mega-Lites, am I the only one who dislikes fast lift hills? The most thrilling part of the start of the ride is either the G-Forces of a launch or the terrifying anticipation of reaching a tremendous height and hanging over the end of a drop. With such fast lift hills you lose both.
  5. Sea World needs a more thrilling attraction. I like Mega-Lites but I think something more similar to Maverick at Cedar Point would be better.
  6. I don't really mean record-breaking, that was badly expressed. I meant more like a completely different and unique design to the Gold Coast that features some new elements. E.G. A Wing coaster and other B&Ms, Flying coaster...
  7. Makes we wanna go there now I love Tigers and Lions so much.
  8. It needs to be something modern and record-breaking for Australia. Naybe a multi launch coaster, but actually a thrilling one. Height limit make sit hard to create thrills with a lift hill, unless they go the Gerstlauer/S&S path, which would be silly given Movie World/DreamWorld already have small scale high thrill rides.
  9. Yeah I'm astonished how much space they have. Could have a very dynamic coaster there, of course not too tall though.
  10. Most stupid seems harsh. I knew not everyone would agree, but the ride is less popular than it used to be, at least in my experience. The younger generation don't care so much for history. But let's agree to disagree.
  11. I did some minor research about the size of Moloney's Corner, and it is actually almost the perfect size for Iron Shark. Iron Shark is 65/21/33 (L/W/H), and the main section of Moloney's battleaxe is almost exactly this size but a little wider. I think this shows the park truly does have space, especially given the Flying Saucer all the way to Tumble Bug corridor is much longer and is also free.
  12. I'm with you. If Luna Park had Wet n Wild Sydney's rides and Wet n Wild Sydney had Luna Park's rides, Luna Park would be one of the most popular parks and Wet n Wild would go broke instantly. The staff and vibe of the place is so friendly and accommodating. It's one of the mainr easons I'm so passionate.
  13. Ok I see I don't know if anyone has inside info, but is it more likely that a coaster would be built around Maloney's corner or up near Tumble Bug etc. Also is it expected a coaster will be involved in their 5 year plan?
  14. I know Sea World is not aimed at the hyper Thrillseeker dynamic, but I really would love to see something pretty intense! But not only is it unlikely to happen for financial reasons, it is probably not the smarftest move from a marketing perspective either unfortunately.
  15. It's actually not. It definitely comes across that way in the video, but it is very smooth on the ride. So is your suggestion that Formule X be in a different, smaller plot?
  16. I am so glad RCTW turned around. Looked absolutely ATROCIOUS at one stage... Atari doesn't seem to be the best company for this kind of project. I get the feeling it has improved so much because of this competition from Planet Coaster. There seems to eb less info about it, so I am excited to see the points of difference
  17. That is very nice! And also seems very small scale. Personally I would prefer something a bit more thilling, but this may be better aimed at the Park's demographic.
  18. How stringent is that heritage listing? If they kept the complete fundamentals of the ride including the layout but simply got new cars, would that be OK? I actually think it would be well received by the public, as they would actually be improving the ride, whilst keeping the culture surrounding it.
  19. I would like to see something like this. I have been on this and it actually packs quite a punch, especially if you haven't been on it before. I am sure you could have a custom and change elemetns to have a "reef" tunnel and maybe mist, and it would be a cheap, small but very nifty attraction! Also the thrill level covers a very wide range of guests and it has the ability to have a very high turnover because it's short.
  20. Must say that these are all fabulous suggestions, which I would be thrilled to see at the park! I would also like to add the GaleForce model, which seems like an imporvement on the skyrocket! Although I agree with what was mentioned above about not using the over the harbour areas for heritage disputes, I do think it would be a wonderful marketing point if they had a coaster with a vertical drop somehow be or look like it was over water. The thing I love about Iron Shark is that it is not too wide. I would be happy to be proven wrong, but it seems to me from my experiences that many areas of Luna Park are very rectangular, meaning that coasters which aren't too wide are ideal. This may not be considered by the park, but I think a revamp of The Wild Mouse could be great too. It is arguably the most iconic element of the park so removal is not only out of the question but a little bit stupid, but if they could revamp it with new cars, new track and a slightly different layout, that would again be a fabulous marketing point. Cars like the Winjas one below would be wonderful in that hairpin section at the top of the hill, and they could add in maybe a small overbanked curve or another feature further along the track. I know that in essence what I have suggested it is a completely new attraction, but I think it would be a big plus for the park! BTW does anyone know what the financial situation is like at the park?
  21. Although I wouldn't want it near the tigers, I think it would be cool for a flyer to skim over water and go in a jungle setting or something
