You are right about dcr but now paid out as per the vrl accounts. Yes there is one contract (purchase or lease) for track and another for construction . Should be able to source that info on ardent accounts. I’ll take a look . The track is saleable if purchased outright in current state and a discounted price probably . Best case the construction will just be put on hold to a later date.

Did someone say delays...If a construction company pulled out surely a breach of contract which would come at a cost unless there was some sought of a termination clause which could include quote variations or regulation requirements etc etc . -
Thanks .. perhaps dreamworld outsourced these requirements to appease wphs to brogent ? It’s typical. ( ie transurban outsources development risks to contractors by seeking fixed price contracts ) As a result of delay there may have been a financial compensation arrangement perhaps. This may not of been under dreamworlds control.

Someone ask dreamworld why they just submitted . May have been slow but I bet the goal posts were also changing . Has anyone ever has experience with this ! If you had you would wait until all questions were known before responding otherwise it can take a lot more time.

Have the restraints shown been audited!!? This is a discussion for enthusiasts. Feel free to educate as part of it. We can't always speak about our current positions or previous experience within the domestic parks themselves but I am informed in a few of these areas. -

Was suggesting carnival rides are randomly audited by the actual regulator after licensed . For sea worlds travelling ride it may have had a license prior. Good to see an audit has taken place at Ekka. Probably for a few reasons including improving the rep of whsq -

The portable ride was already licensed. It does not get a license each time it is set up? Question mark as don't know but always concerned me on travelling rides. -

Certifications take time and you assume the Government process is clear at moment and will be timely. This is not in control of vrl or a manufacturer. I’ll hit you up for the box of matches if I’m wrong to smoke the pipe. -

A lot of faith in those points. I hope this is the case. Time will tell . -

Ie rain in electrical was a very common problem. Did also impact the ability to operate but I bet it was the electrical issues that finally forced the change . -

I do know how government departments work. This is not just paperwork I’m talking about . The government framework is evolving and requirements for a operational license are not set in stone. This could delay VRL in meeting these dynamic requirements. We can hope they are taking the lead on this but can not control the other parties response timing. Sometimes though companies also make errors of judgement too. One of Sv issues would revolve around this government relationship. The Government would treat VRL and Dreamworld with the same oversight mechanisms. There are probably many other problems with Sv but I’m talking about VRL here . There is a risk timing will be delayed for other than construction reasons is all I’m highlighting. -

Not just paperwork. For example does the Government know exactly what it is asking or needs before signing off ? Unlikely and determining that takes time . -
Tower of Terror 2 closing
dbo121 replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
They are separate. GD was installed years after the tower of terror but was apart of the initial concept . One would assume during deconstruction of the tower track that the drop would need to be closed. At the very least for a change in signage on the pole . Or does the giant drop just get renamed the tower of terror ! -

Same Government. Can’t control their speed or requests. You would expect them to be on top of this but who knows -

Even if it is completed what are the chances of getting the sign off in the time expected to begin operating? VRL cannot control the speeds of Government departments. -
Why not just explain why on sky voyager . Just tell the real story unless they are hiding something. Evident they screwed up or have no cash to finish . Fess up. I am thinking they are postponing to next financial yr now. New budget period and have no allocated cash for capex left for period is best case . Worse is no free cashflow in business
